I'm just posting a personal journal for my wt loss, no need for anyone to respond, although all comments are welcomed :D

January is for me the time of year when I think about losing wt, I always think if I start now then by summer I won't have to worry about it, although that never happens. I'm a fluctuator, I go up & down by 20-30lbs, I hate being hungry & I don't care what they say an apple & veggies do not fill you up, I could eat 5 bowls of veggies & still feel rumbling in my stomach but give me a big piece of pie(my downfall) & I fill up instantly  My dh is fit & we make the # 10 standing side by side, he helps me keep my wt manageable because I feel guilty eating certain things in front of him, it's no fun eating chips alone when you are watching a movie, he is the type to snack on carrots etc so it's probably a good thing I don't have an eating buddy. I started ww 6yrs ago I think I always have my pt finder & books in a white envelope & he knows when I've started again because they reappear on the kitchen counter. I garbarated the left over pumpkin pie when I did the pt finder & realized the sugar free pie was 6pts :thud-faint:

My wi is monday
I did my measurements yesterday & started keeping a food journal again.

My goal is to lose 25-30lbs If I do 2lbs a week I should be much more comfortable this summer, last summer was ok because it was nice & cold here without the massive humidity we normally get so I managed but when it's humid & icky I get so crabby & alot of it is because I'm chubby & uncomfortable.
I have given up my evening eating that is really tough & of course I'm super hungry but I don't "need" to eat, I also (long time ago) decreased my coffee intake, I now have 1 coffee with C & S but my coffee break at work is green tea with 2 sweetners & I like it I"m used to it now. I have no chips & junk in the house. Hopefully I can make this work. I need to find some filling recipe's that are also quick & healthy.

Monday 28pts
Tuesday 32pts
Wednesday-31pts

Hey Jaan,

Good Luck! I"m also on WW and although I fell off over the holidays, I'm trying to get back on. My WI is tomorrow so I'm hopeful that I have lost at least 2 of the 7 pounds I put on over the holidays.... ARGH!

Jan: That is great that you are motivated to start. I was on Herbal Magic all year last year and am still on it. I was supposed to reach my goal weight on March 2; but the second half of last year was very hard. I started a cleanse a couple of days ago to jumpstart my progress this year and I am determined to get some more weight off. We are going to Mexico at the end of April and I want to be quite a bit smaller by the time that comes. I look forward to reading your updates. Maybe they will help keep me motivated!

Jan - Good luck to you! DH & I are both on diets right now - laways do before we go on a cruise (we gain back even more than we lost on the ship because the food is so good). DH is taking it much more seriously than I am - working out pretty hard-core and eating very halethy. For me, I need my chocolate and other sweets. But I have cut out most of that and we are eating a lot healthier. One thing we are finding quick and easy for meals is DH's mom bought us a George Foreman grill (the mean, lean fat reducing grilling machine) and it cooks meat (chicken, steak, etc) very well and all the fat drips out. It is quick and simple. DH does the cooking and makes lots of chicken with different seasoning (greek, lemon pepper, italian) and we have brown rice/pasta, veggies with it. It has been making a difference!

Keep it up, Jan. You are doing great. I find a cup of green tea or rooibos tea at night helps keep the hunger away. After a couple of weeks, the cravings subside and your body gets used to what you are doing. You have made it this far, keep up the good work.

thnx Jenni

So far so good no eating at night
Friday 31 pts

I have decided to treat this the same way I did when I quit smoking, it's all in the mind. I keep telling myself "if you can quit smoking after 17yrs to have a baby, then you can quit eating junk & not eat at night so I can be healthy & active with our babies" It's really a mind game, I don't "need" junk food or food at night even though my tummy is growling it's a trick, it's my body craving something not good just like it did for nicotine. I hope my new outlook works, if I can think of this as an addiction maybe for once I'll succeed in beating it.

Hey Jaan,
My favorite treat after 7pm is a pkg of fruities! These things have been my lifeline for the past few months.

I went to weigh in today and lost 4 pounds! Thats the best I have done in a long time... Since I gained 7 over the holidays, I still have a few more to go to get back to where I was but even then, need to keep going for about 10 more pounds.

I asked them today if you can do WW while pregnant and she said no... I had though I remembered a plan for pregnant or nursing moms but she said that they stopped doing that since the focus of WW is to lose weight and the focus of pregnancy is really to gain..... I'm getting close to treatment (hopefully next month) so I think if I do get pregnant I will work with a nutrutionist to make sure I only gain what I need to.

I have a batch of WW Spanakopita in the oven now that I should go check on.... Good luck this week!

Jenni-I just noticed your ticker WTG girl look at all the wt you've lost that is awesome!

Figuresk8er- On my other board there are girls pg on WW apparently you increase your points by 10 plus you still have your 35 flex pts, but I think pg is also a time to not worry about wt & eat healthy but also treat yourself too. WTG on your 4lb loss that is really great keep it up!

I had my wi on monday(home I don't go to meetings since dh's schedule changes too much) I lost 5lbs :th_acheerlead: I have the twins b-day on saturday but I'm going to eat before the party & i'm allowing myself one cupcake.

Hey Jaan, Congratulations on 5P! keep it up.. It's just like when you quit smoking.. If you go back now, you have to get through the hard part all over again.

Good luck at your Boy's birthday... They are adorable by the way :)

Jan: I have lost a lot; but did you also notice how much more I have to lose! But; thank you anyway. I am hoping I can get the rest off this year and be on my way to a much healthier life. After the weight is gone, I will also be tackling the smoking issue. It is nuts that I quit for a year and a half to go through IVF, pregnancy and breast feeding and then started right back up.

Great job on the 5 pound loss. Keep it up and your weight will be gone in no time. Amazing that the boys are going to be 3, isn't it. Time sure flies. Have a great time on their birthday.

figuresk8ter: Great job on the 4 pounds. I agree that pregnancy is not a time to lose weight. It is a time to eat as healthy as you can to give as much nutrition to the baby as possible.

I am doing this cleanse and was able to lose the 6 pounds I gained over Christmas already. I am done this Saturday so hopefully, I can get a couple more off by the time I am done.

Since the boys b-day I've eating aweful, tommorow I get rid of the left over party stuff, I just can't have it in the house or I eat it, but when I quit smoking I felt better having a pack in the freezer which stayed there for over a year.

Tommorow is my wi but I know i've maintained. tommorow is back to my ww pts again.

Jan, I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. That really sucks. Anything stressful causes weight to stay on so don't worry if you don't lose the next couple of weeks. Just get through this as best you can. Good luck with everything.

Hi ladies,

Jan I am sorry to hear about your UNcle. It seems like this kind of news is every where. Friends of ours are also going through a terrible time. THe husband which is 39 is dying from Cancer. SUch a sad story...He had a kidney transplant because he had kidney failure and one of side effects of the anti rejection drugs is cancer. Wouldn't you know he was the unlucky one, it was something like a long shot this could happen and it happened to him. They have two children through invitro, really young family. He has two weeks to live. Very sad, reminds me that we need to live each day fully, wish I could practice this more then I say it.

ANyway, HI to you Jen. CHristmas was very hard on my waist line. But I am back at it. I was doing well and fell off..............and when I am bad I am very bad. SO the short story is back to weight watchers and back to the gym. My husband has also started healthy eating so this helps keep me motivated. Really I am hoping by the end of 2009 I am at my goal. Okay will talk later Ladies.

Happy New Year

Carey, great to hear from you. That sucks about your friends. You are right, we do have to live each day to the fullest. It is good to see you back on weight watchers and back to the gym and it is great that your husband is joining in on the healthy eating. That would make it so much easier. I have been so good and managed to get off the extra Christmas pounds; but seem to be stuck and am getting frustrated as I am eating well and going to the gym. Hopefully, I am just building muscle and the weight will start to move soon. Good luck this year. I, too, hope to reach my goal in 2009.

Jan, I love your picture thing on your signature. You have lost 7 and only have 20 to go, that is great.

Carey, how are you doing?

I weigh in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Herbal Magic. Had a wedding this weekend with a really good meal so I hope I am not up too much today.

Jenni-How did your wi go today?

I've been bad & fallen off the wagon, ughhhhh so frustrating & disapointed with myself I hate this, I wish I could eat whatever I want, I resisted last night I wanted to make a bagal with cream cheese but I didn't. I have been eating a salad with all my meals (except breaky of course) I can't wait till spring when I can get out walking. AF is gone almost so I can start fresh again.

HI Ladies,

I have been MIA, I too fell off the wagon. I seem to be good a week and then bad a week. So here I go again. I have had a great week, and will weigh in tonight. I am still working on the weight I put on over Christmas, it seems to not want to fall off the way it went on.

Jenni, You are doing awesome, half way to your goal. Jaan, 7 pounds is a good start, so here is to staying on the train track.

Other then that nothing much new, we are waiting impatiently for a referral of our baby in Ethiopia, and the wait keeps getting longer. I don't think we will hear anything until July or after that. I can't believe I even wrote that. It has been 11 months since our dossier has arrived in Ethiopia, and two years since we started all the paper chase work.

I just updated my ticker, that sucks, isn't the frog supposed to move the other way???Ha Ha just a little humor. I needed to make it right so hopefully the froggy jumps ahead. What a journey!!!! My goal is to quit making food such a part of my life and learn to love the healthy choices, I think I can, I think I can!

Have a good day ladies.

I am glad it is not me who is moving slowly. I have been suffering mega constipation for the last couple of weeks with no explanation. I think things are finally moving again after trying everything. I am with you Carey, I hope the ticker keeps moving to the right!!

Hi Girls how are you both doing?

Carey-how is your friend? Did her dh pass away? I hope your froggy keeps movin the right way ;) How was your wi? I hope you don't have to wait too long to hear about your baby.

Jenni-I hate being "bunged" up, I hope things are moving in that area :D

I picked up a nursing shift this saturday night, I think I'm nuts but the money will be nice. The weather here has been awefull, I want so badly to get out & walk but I can't it's icy & -30 very discouraging. I'm trying to journal my food but it's tough!

I found this great herbal laxative tea which is working wonders. I started a cleanse with my husband last Friday and have lost a couple of pounds on it so far. The weight loss is coming; but it is very slow these days. I have so much pain in my knee that I am not able to workout as much as I would like. I can't wait for the surgery to fix that so I can be more active.

Carey: How are you doing?

Jan: A nursing shift? Are you going to be doing more of that? How did it go?

HI Ladies,

I am at a stand still. I have one good week and one bad. Yeesh I am frustrated with myself. I am such an emotional eater and recognize that yet I can't seem to stop myself. So I am trying to get a plan of action to get my control back. Really sometimes I don't enjoy the food I do eat, so I know it is emotional. What is setting me off, is two things the wait for our referral is taking forever, and I have been busy at work. Anyway I need to wrap my brain around the fact that the referral is still 4-6 months away and grasp this. I am working on this, and need to get my work schedule organized.

Yes my friends husband did pass, shortly after I posted here. SO sad!!!! Really feel sad for her and the children.

My goal is to get things back on track this week. The one thing I do know is it makes me angry at myself when I get like this and everything becomes unproductive and chaotic.

Here is to a better week. Good for you Jen, you are doing well. Jaan lyou are right jounalling is hard, but effective.

Talk to you later
