What can I expect? I want to go in prepared. I have already sent in my completed questionnaire and my medical reports from my other clinic. I also have some questions to ask him. I was told he'd probably give me a chart as to what to do from now on...I'm hoping he'll put me on baby aspirin which I've heard it helps with the lining of th uterus.

When my husband and I went in to meet the doc, we had no idea what we were in for. We have one son which we conceived with absolutely no effort (2 days, 2 tries). My husband was paralyzed in an unfortunate accident when our dog jumped on him when he was swimming. She broke his neck and left him a quadriplegic. We wanted to "finish our family" and needed some advice on what to do. His suggestion was IVF as there was no real way to extract the sperm. We tried several different methods with Dr. Jarvi at Mt. Sinai which were all unsuccessful. That's why IVF was our only option, if we wanted to use our own egg/sperm. He was great to answer all questions - no matter how silly they seemed. If you read through these posts on this website you will learn alot and will give you more "education" and some idea what to talk to him about. I wish I had know about the baby aspirin! These posts sort of put the technical mumbo jumbo into everyday terminology. I think you will find Dr. Hannam to very personable and welcoming. His secretary is really nice as well. On our first appointment day, we were driving into Toronto and we headed right into a blizzard and nasty accident so we called to cancel half way into the city and they even rescheduled us for the next day. What specialists do this anymore??!! Hopefully this helps!

Hi Wendy!
Thanks so much for this info. So sorry to hear about your husband's accident. The way it happened is something that could happen to all of us. The whole IVF process is so new to me that I want to be absolutely prepared.
