Hi everyone! I switched clinics to Hannam and I plan to do two back to back IVF cycles with testing (unless the first one is amazing) anyways our drug coverage isnt great. Obviously I have to wait for my period and my hcg to drop so this isnt urgent but I like to think ahead.

Basically I am wondering if anyone used a pharmacy and not the clinic to get IVF drugs? Was it a good experience? Like could you get everything? What pharmacy did you use?

I am specifically looking for one in Ottawa, but if theres a really good one in Toronto that saved you a lot then its worth the drive.

Thank you Im advance for answering my question

I have heard this pharmacy dispenses IVF meds at cost. They can't accept credit cards otherwise they'd be losing money. My clinic's nurses got at the overflow in the pens for me. You can intentionally order the smallest pens because they have the most overflow proportionally.

I admire your tenaciousness, Melissa. I hope you get m ore embryos than you know what to do with!

I second the recommendation for the glenshield pharmacy. I had everything lined up to pick up my meds from there years ago and then my husband got a new job with full coverage so I didnt end up needing too. Even with his new coverage I choose to go to Costco to get my meds, they charge a bunch less than my clinic and I ended up getting full coverage there since my coverage maxes out at a certain dollar value. I would have ended up paying out of pocket a small portion if I went through my clinic.
Something to remember with Costco is that they need to special order the prescriptions in so you need to place your order at least 2 days in advance for it to arrive in time. And secondly, your clinic may try to tell you that Costco doesnt carry the drugs but from my experience they were always willing to special order it for me. This was true for both the Burlington and London locations. You do not need a membership to use Costcos pharmacy.

Thanks so much! We have full coverage too but only at market price so I still end up paying a portion and with the clinic make up it definetly adds up so I appreciate this!

Hey!

Hope you are doing great!

I'd like to recommend a company called TownDrugStore, which is located in the United States. If anyone is doing IVF there, he or she can buy IVF meds online at really low prices, with fully tested medicine before recommendation. They deliver in just 3 days maximum.

Stay Healthy!
