Does anyone have any experiences using a family member as a gestational surrogate. My husband's sister is wanting to be our surrogate. We would like to know more info regarding this. How do we start? What are the steps and costs? And would we need a lawyer?

You should ask through your clinic. I imagine at minimum they will want you to speak to a counsellor. They should also be able to tell you the costs.

Thanks Cotton3.
We asked a few times but our doctor keeps brushing us off. He keeps saying he believes I can get pregnant and no need to use a surrogate. Im getting older and so is my sister in law. So I wanna start the process sooner than later Also would like to know if the surrogate would be able to qualify for the one time government funded ivf cycle. I used up my funded cycle already.

The funded cycle is attached to the intended parents.
