Looks like the forums have died down quite a bit since 2 years ago.

Anyone else scheduled for an October cycle?  We are scheduled for a FET on Oct 4.  Lining check last week showed only 6.5mm so we were in danger of cancelling the cycle (my wife has history of thin lining), but surprisingly lining check yesterday showed 8.8mm(!) so we are going ahead with the transfer.  This is our last embryo and given my wife's age (40), will likely be our first/last attempt at a sibling for our daughter 🤞

Hallo Hopefuldadsomeday - you are already a dad thumbup.gif Congratulations.

All the best to you and your wife with this October cycle. 40 is still young - a lot can happen in the 40s.

Ania - good luck to you too.

Jewel.

Welcome cherryblossom222 - hope your cycle goes well!

We had our transfer yesterday and everything well.  Beta is on Oct 14, but will probably cave and do a HPT a day or two before.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Confusing news for us today 8dp5dt.  My wife started bleeding .  Looks to be too heavy to be implantation bleeding, looks like her period, but shouldn't be happening since she is still on Estradiol and Endometrin/PIO. We did a HPT after and it came up positive.  She will call the clinic for advice tomorrow and we'll have to wait for beta on Thursday.  Will be a long 3 day wait for us.

That's stressful Hopefuldadsomeday. Maybe it is a bleeding subchorionic hemorrhage, although I don't know if it is too early for that. I hope it will sort itself out. I have heard some women have such a heavy bleed they don't suspect they are pregnant but they can go on to have a healthy baby.

Quick update, bleeding stopped the next day but still some occasional spotting.  Called the clinic and they didn't seem too concerned, thought it might be because the endometrin was irritating her and because she is on ASA.  Beta came back at 415 today, so will have to see if numbers are doubling properly for beta #2 next week. crsd.gif

That's a great first beta. How many days post transfer is she and how many days is the embryo?

She is 10 days post transfer.  Embro was a 6 day embryo.

@hopefuldadsomeday

How is everything going with you and your wife?

I don't know if you remember, but we cycled together twice before I believe! I have a daughter from my August 2018 FET.

I did my first FET from our second IVF cycle 1 week ago. I tested 5.5 days post transfer and it was a BFN but I have a history of light tests and lowish Betas so hoping when I test again at 9dpt it will be positive.

Hope you got good news!

Hey all, just completed our egg retrieval and we only retrieved 9 eggs. A bit disappointed considering I had close to 30 follicles to begin with but I guess they were not all 'mature' enough or had eggs. Just got a call from the embryologist that only 7 were mature and 4 were fertilized. To say we are devasted is an understatement. I'm 31 with unexplained infertility so i'm hoping that our 4 embies makes it to blastocyst stage so please pray for us!

@Momsomeday - Any good news?

@cherryblossom222  - sorry to hear you didn't retrieve as many eggs as you had hoped.  Our 3rd IVF cycle we had similar disappointment.  We had I think around 13 or 14 follicles (which was the highest we had), but only retrieved 4 eggs, and only 1 made it to blastocyst.  But it only takes 1!  As long as the ones they retrieved are good quality, that's the most important.  Hope your 4 make it to blast!  Are you planning on having them PGS-tested?

Had our first ultrasound today and things look on track, and HR was strong.  F/u U/S in 2 weeks, and then my wife will be discharged to the midwives if everything is okay.

Cherryblossom - I'm sorry to hear you don't have more eggs. I'm wondering if your IVF result sheds light on the cause of your infertility. On the positive side, you are young for the fertility world so that will hopefully work to your favour

Hopefuldadsomeday - Congratulations on clearing your first ultrasound! That is a big milestone. Did they ever find the cause of the bleeding?
