How are you doing Melissa87? When is your beta? Are you planning to do a HPT?

I had my retrieval yesterday and they were able to get 7 eggs. I will know today how many were mature and how many fertilized. I am back to the clinic tomorrow for my intralipid infusion then have my transfer on Monday!

Im glad youre doing well. Its always so hard to wait! Youre halfway there at least. Hang in there!

Of the 7 eggs retrieved, 6 were mature and 5 fertilized. Last year when I did a retrieval I got 9 eggs, 7 were mature and 5 fertilized - I then ended up with 4 blasts (2 of which were PGS normal), so feeling optimistic that I will get a few to transfer.

Thats great. I just did an hpt and bfn. But its only day 5. My husband hid the hpt so I cant do it again which was a good call since it makes me so sad.

Anyways I think Im going to ask for an ERA. Did you do one are you glad you did ?

For me my biggest regret is not testing embryos. Another thing thats scary is the Matris Test I did . I scored so high my clinic said theres about an 80% chance of getting a clinical pregnancy. Yet once again I did not.

We have 8 embryos 4 made just after I turned 31 and 4 made just after I turned 33 (I am 33). Im so afraid they are all abnormal. DH says we can do another egg retrieval if Im worried. What would you do?

Im going to talk to my doctor and ask about ERA . And maybe try another transfer or two but then I dont know. I also feel like Im at an age where getting more eggs is important since it will get harder

Melissa - Im so sorry your hpt is negative, but dont give up hope!! Its still early. They dont do a beta until day 9 because numbers can still be so low. I agree with your hubby though - best to not test again, its just so hard on the heart.

Ive done 2 ERAs and Im sorry to say that it hasnt made a difference for me in the end. I know in many cases though, it really can make a difference!! Its worth a try for sure.

I know how overwhelming it is with every passing year, but you have plenty of time and still have some embryos, right?. If it makes you feel better, I had my daughter at 34 and just had a retrieval at 40 (definitely not ideal, but Ive always done PGS and had a few normal!). You may have normal embryos you just havent transferred yet and if it gets to another retrieval, you know the option of PGS is out there.

Hang in there! Sending hugs.

Yeah absolutely. Im very likely that some are normal. Why did you do two ERA I thought you only needed one ? Was it the same price as a transfer ? Id think it would be

I did an ERA after my second failed transfer, which showed I was post receptive (I.e. needed an extra day of progesterone). I then switched clinics. After my 5th failed FET (1st with new clinic) they recommended doing it again which showed I was perfectly receptive. Apparently it can change! My Dr said its usually valid for about 6 months. My first ERA was Aug 2018, second was July 2020. I remember it being sort of expensive - maybe a few thousand but cant remember exactly how much, it did give me peace of mind that we had explored it and had an answer.

What kind of protocol are you on for your transfer? Some clinics do try CPP (Claritin, prednisone, Pepcid), which can reduce rejection.

The one thing thats helped me this time around is to ensure were trying something different. I listened to a podcast that spoke about how sometimes it can be an iterative process - thats why Im not testing and doing a fresh transfer - frozen tested embryos just didnt work.

Its interesting because I had to call my clinic this morning because o had really heavy bleeding last night. The nurse is going to talk to the doctor and call me back. I asked if she ever did eras and the nurse said she didnt think so. I know they arent perfect but that surprised me:

I have been on estrogen and progesterone for protocol I dont really know anything about anything else. Im pretty sure she will just blame the embryos this. I get it to a degree because I know they arent all normal. By the same token some of them are amd o definitely dont want to continue to put embryos in me if I do have an implantation issue.

I totally get it - those embryos are precious!! What clinic are you at? My last clinic always told me I was just on the wrong side of the odds each time...which was difficult to hear. At my new clinic (Hannam), I feel like my doctor is on the same page as me and recognizes that x and y havent worked, so we need to try something else. Once you know the outcome, Perhaps its worth getting another opinion. Theres not harm getting a consultation somewhere else - it might help give perspective and introduce options.

Im with first steps fertility. I had my DD after my first transfer. Ill see what she says if its the outcome Im expecting, but you might be right about another opinion. I love the idea of not repeating the same thing over and over again. I think if I went anywhere else it would be Hannam .

I went to First Steps for my first daughter too! That was awhile back though (got pregnant March 2015) and was seeing Dr Dixon. When I was ready to start trying for my second I followed Dr Dixon to her new clinic Anova. Ive had a good experience with Hannam - I see Dr Garbedian.

Has the bleeding stopped? Hope you get answers on that soon.
