Underwent retrieval Friday, 9 retrieved, 7 fertilized. Unfortunately they called today saying at day 6 none made it to blastocyst and they will give them 1 more day.

 

My partner and I are trying not to break down with the news, and hold up hope tomorrow will bring luck, but we also know it's very unlikely that if all 7 never got to blastocyst by day 5 or even 6, it's very unlikely they will day 7.

 

This one retrieval was our only chance thanks to OHIP, so it was our only chance for family. Not sure what we will do now, just trying to come to terms with it.

I'm sorry about this news. I'm not familiar enough with your clinic to now what depth of investigation they do. Did you husband do a DNA fragmentation on his sperm? There are some things that could potentially change, but honestly a lot of times IVF, especially the first one, is the luck of the draw. I'm sorry that this was your only chance. Wait for the results and then have a sit down discussion with your RE to determine a path forward.
