Hi @Canadamommy2! I'm 40 and I will be going through an ivf treatment soon enough! My thoughts on PGS are positive. I would certainly want to do any tests that can give me some preliminary information. How are you feeling? What's your next step?

Skylarg - thank you for your reply hun. My next step is talking to my RE on tuesday and put my name on the fund list. Im with Trio and my dr is Dr Chang. I think his waitlist is quite long. It might takes me at least a year to get my turn. I have a mixed feeling about pgs tested. Ill ask my RE to see what he thinks on tuesday ;-)

Hi there I went to ReproMed because no wait times. I had 14 embryos extracted and ended up with seven blastocysts. I had OHSS so all FET. I have three left but because of covid I have to wait March to do the final transfer with remaining with them. I didn't do PGS on them. I was 34 years old. Since funded so no lost if I use them all. I got pregnant but no heartbeat with first FET. Then went through two more with no positive. I did ERA biopsy recently. I suggest doing that instead so that you get correct implantation window before you transfer them. We didn't do PSG at that time cause my doc never suggest it. We like you did consider it. Husband was against it because he says he reads false positive or false negatives. We are switching new doctor for a breath of fresh air and cause I have PCOS so my case a bit complicated. I went to Astra fertility previously for IUI and ovulation induction also no pregnancy. This time we will do PSG since we will be paying out of pocket the IVF. I will be 36/37 years this retrieval. The previous retrieval I was just few months from 35. It really depends how many embryos you got.

Ultagirl - thank you so much for sharing hun. With my first IVF, I was 29 at the time so pgs was not recommended to us. This time when my name comes up id probably be 38. We still have r embryos left so we might try to transfer them first before doing another retrieval. With ERA though, its not on the table for me since my protocol is a natural FET. So its different each month. Pgs does sounds good to me though since it can rule our the down syndrome (i think) but it is soooo expensive ;-( last time I made almosf 30 follicles and 12d5-6 embryos. At the age is 38 though, I dont think Ill make as much but it would be nice if I could.

Ugh waiting lists are NO fun. But if this is what you have to do, you must endure it, right? Are your feelings mixed because they might not be 100% conclusive?

We went with PGS-testing due to my wife's history of recurrent miscarriages.  She was 36 when we started IVF.  We ended up with 3 PGS-normal embryos over 3 cycles.  The first transfer was BFN, but a subsequent ERA test showed that my wife needed an extra day of progesterone, so don't think the failure was due to inaccuracy of PGS testing.   Our 2nd transfer was successful.  We are looking to transfer our last embryo sometime later this year.  Good luck!

I fully reccommend PGT. I was able to do it for my first IVF (last time though I did not have an embryo make it long enough). The first time showed an issue that would have turned into a miscarriage. I'm thankful that I didn't have to put my body through that. I am starting my 3rd IVF and I will hopefully be doing PGT this time as well.
