Mcbealz- I don't know anything about embryo adoption but I wanted to send you good thought, prayers and baby dust.

TTC for two years. DH had vasectomy reversal after close to 15 years. Sperm had antibodies especially on tail making it difficult for them to reach egg. RE suggested ART.

2/2020: First consultation with RE. Decision made to do IVF  (Age=37)

3/2020: U/S to check state of uterus revealed presence of fibroids, one in particular protruding toward the uterine cavity. Made decision to undergo surgery to remove fibroids

3/2020: Surgery to remove fibroids

3-4/2020: Recovery from surgery and COVID hit leading to cancellation of all non-essential procedures

5/2020: Started IVF #1.

6/2020: Retrieved 11 eggs; 9 fertilized; 4 made it to blast (2 day 5s and 2 day 6s). Protocol involved BCP before starting stims

6/2020: Fresh transfer of two blasts (3AA and 3BB); positive HPT at 5dp5dt; beta hcg at 9dp5dt=71 th_abfp.gif ; second beta at 14dp5dt=1 th_abfn.gif (Chemical)cry.gif

Plan to transfer the other two blasts in 8/2020

8/2020: FET cancelled IVF lab had ventilation problems leading to shut down

8/2020: IUI=th_abfn.gif

10/2020: FET #1 unmedicated; transfered 2 day 6 blasts=th_abfn.gif

11/2020 IVF #2: Retrieved 7 eggs; all fertilized but only 4 made it to 5 day blasts. Protocol didn't have BCP before stimming

12/2020: Fresh transfer of the two blasts; positive HPT starting at 5dp5dt; 1st beta at 13dp5d=1549 th_abfp.gif ; 2nd beta at 20dp5dt=21,000; beta at 26dp5dt=51,000. Excited thinking its twins sad.png

Hi there! Im wanted to see if anyone has had very high betas with a single embryo transfer? Im thrilled that we have gotten positive results so far but I am having some major anxiety about my levels being so high. My 13dp5dt HCG was 2728 and my 15dp5dt just came back at 7150. The nurses dont seem concerned with these numbers but I am nervous the embryo may have split. Anyone else have high numbers and still ended up having a healthy single baby?

Grace1988- I think betas are very variable with or without multiples. My lab report usually shows the expected range and it is so varied that it's hard to say one way or the other. At 12dp5dt I was in the 1400s and two days ago at 20dp5dt I was in the 21000s. I transferred two embryos. Looking at betas of women who had singletons I am within some of their ranges and I'm also within the range of multiples. So it could go either way. I think the only sure way it to wait for the U/S. Having said that I totally understand being nervous and anxious as I am going through it. I keep worrying that something may be wrong - could it be a molar pregnancy? ectopic pregnancy? will I miss carry? et cetera. My mind can't stop thinking of all the things that could go wrong because of my previous experience with a chemical pregnancy.

misshelen- I'm so sorry to hear. I know there is nothing anyone can say to make things better but I'm sending hugs your way. This is a cruel process.

Happy New Year, ladies. Sounds like a lot of sad news, and a bit of positive news these past few weeks.

McBealz, I'm so sorry about your negative. It is so crushing. Embryo adoption is a wonderful idea. If you are open to using embryos from another couple's IVF cycle after they have completed their family, there are often lists of these embryos available at fertility clinics. I know CREATE in Toronto has one. If you would like double donor embryos (as in, the embryo is created by a sperm donor and an egg donor), there are clinics in Europe that have quite affordable options (Czech Republic and Greece come to mind), although travelling this year may be tough. There are also people who find embryos on this site. Good luck on the journey!

MissHelen, I'm sorry to hear about your negative. It is so heartbreaking. Especially around the holidays. I hope you can be kind to yourself.

RosySkies, how are you doing? I've been there before with a beta of 42 (last Christmas, in fact). That limbo is so hard. I suppose it's been a little while since you posted, so you may already know the resolution. I hope you are taking care of yourself.

Smiley and Grace, congrats on your positives. They certainly are high betas, but there can be a range. I like to look at the beta base site to compare betas, just for a bit of info. Here is the link for the singletons and here is the link for twins. They are based on days past ovulation rather than days past transfer and sometimes I wonder if the women have their dates off a bit when looking at the highest. But you'll see that there are huge ranges. When are your first scans? You'll know more then!

Gaybie, Eudamonia, Morgy, hope things are continuing to progress well. There is a June/July DD thread, if you'd like to join.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season as best you can. I hope 2021 is the year our dreams come true!

Thank you Daisy, my second beta number dropped from 42 to 37 so I was instructed to stop the medications. They asked me to do another beta test a week later and it was down to 0

After 4 unsuccessful transfers in a row, we're thinking of not trying again. We believe we'll be happy and content as a family of 3.

Congratulations to the BFPs here, and Daisy I'm so glad your got your BFP, I can see in your signature you've had a long road
