I tried to find an old thread before starting this one but didn't have any luck. Is there anybody out here that does acupuncture before/after their FETs? I'm planning on trying it this time but I'm nervous because we didn't to it with our DD.

We did explore acupuncture but decided not to move forward. Our doctor said that acupuncture needs to be done prior to the FET, meaning that it needs to be done at the clinic. As far as I know, many clinics in New York City do not have an on site acupuncturist. Also our doctor said it doesnt really help much to improve the success rate of FET. Some acupuncturists will try to persuade you to do acupuncture several times a week for a period of time in order to be effective. To me, that sounds like an attempt to rip your money off.

I have done acupuncture leading up to transfer and right before/after transfer with my son.  However, due to covid, I couldn't have an acupuncturist come to the clinic like they did last time so we just skipped it this time.  I am still in my 2ww, so not sure what the results are yet.

Hi Cmr - I have had acupuncture leading up to transfer and before\after, first FET (Non tested embryo) was BFP but chemical, second FET (untested embryo) was BFN and now third FET (euploid) has come back with strong beta. There is a lot of research on how it helps with reducing stress and increasing blood flow to uterus which helps with lining growth and embryo implantation. I am also a strong proponent of acupuncture as it was the only thing that relieved my nausea during cancer treatments and reduces pain from endometriosis. Doing it for a month before a FET helps improve lining or reduce inflammation which make be preventing blood from flowing to uterus correctly. Up to you, but I found it to beneficial for my situation.

Beginning 3rd IVF cycle- hopefully 3rd time's a charm! heart.gif

A few friends of mine combined acupuncture with IVF, and got positive results.
