@misskika- thanks for asking. This morning I felt a little of a twinge and then new feeling something akin to period cramps. I don't know if they mean anything but.... just have to wait and see.

Tracy - wow, that's a long wait for the Beta! According to betabase.info website, the average is around 900 at 14dpt (they do "days post ovulation", so you need to add 5-6 days for your dpt to get dpo), but it ranges from 18 to 17K, so really, there is no way to tell what's "normal". As long as your second numbers grows appropriately from the first - it's great.

And congrats on the positive HPTs!

Smiley- I don't trust any symptoms during the 2WW anymore! Every pregnancy is so different. Sending you a lot of patience for the wait

 

How is everyone doing? I've entered full blown nausea/exhaustion territory and I'm 6 weeks today. Hopefully it doesn't get much worse than this but also thankful that this hopefully means everything is progressing as it should.

I got my beta back - 360, at 14dp5dt/19dpo, which is so much lower than I wanted (and anticipated, as I'm having every symptom), based on the chart - I know it's in range/fine and the nurse said it was fine but I really expected much higher. I know it's a bit silly before the second beta, but still.

Thank you! That's really kind. The nurse was surprised when I asked if it was low - it looks like, online in the medical charts I looked at, typical hcg rates for 4 weeks are listed at 5 or 10 to 400-700 - so, great! - but anecdotally, both here and on Betabase and elsewhere online (Instagram in particular) the majority of self-reported beta results at 14dp5dt/19dpo seem to be 900, 1000, 1200... So aside from my own feelings (and I do feel lucky to be here, aside from my own expectations) that just seems weird to me.

TracyFlick - hope your second beta comes back nice and high and ease your mind!

I am 6 weeks today and not that much nausea which is worrying me. But extremely tired and boobs hurt. However I stated bleeding yesterday. Stopped this morning but still concerned. Happened my last pregnancy but its still upsetting seeing so much blood. Waiting to hear back from clinic to see what to do.

Tracy- sorry you are upset about the number but it does seem really good! Could have been a late implanter! I hope your second beta goes well. Keep us updated!

My beta today is 780, so just more than doubled (from 360). I have been looking into this, and apart from my own feelings about it I'm really confused by how different the averages and interpretations of the numbers are. It's an international unit of measurement for hcg, so it's not a Canada / U.S. thing, but there is such a difference between medical charts I've seen online, and what my clinic is telling me (they want to see over 100 for 14dp5dt), and what is commonly posted. I understand how much this ranges, but what I don't get is how my hcg really is very low compared to the vast majority of results I've seen online, but elsewhere this number being considered decent/average. I'm a realist and a planner and much prefer hard data to "hope" or whatever, so this is really frustrating for me. Not my results per se, but the lack of good, consistent information. I should be used to it by now, I guess!

So I stopped bleeding the next day so they had me go do another blood test to see how things are going. So another two day wait! Wait wait wait wait wait....ugh! Ultrasound is the 15th so I will defiantly find out next week what is happing.

Hi guys

Sorry I havent posted in a while. After the positive pregnancy test I was having anxiety/ feeling overwhelmed so was trying to stay off the internet. Im somewhat better now .

Congrats to all on the positives and sending love and wishing peace upon those who had negatives. This is such a crazy process and I think there is so much randomness to it...

I wanted to pop on to let you guys know that your betas are all higher than mine were, and that my symptoms have been coming and going too (some days I feel completely normal, then other days I feel like Im gonna puke all day). Im now 7.5 weeks along and had my ultrasound a few days ago. The U/S showed a good heart rate and embryo is measuring two days ahead.

What I try and tell myself is that, after I do the basics with taking care of myself, this embryo is going to do what its programmed to do, for better or worse. Ive really been working letting go of feeling like I need to know the outcome or control the situation, and its been really helpful. I try and tell myself the embryo is calling the shots and Im just along for the ride. Obviously this is all easier said than done ..

I hope everyone keeps giving updates on this thread- not sure how long the threads go on for but its nice to follow your journeys

I so agree and relate to this — as much as I always want a lot of information and context, and always will, I have also really benefited from the idea that it's going to do what it's going to do. In a sense it isn't my business, right now, which is a perspective that really helps me. Sometimes in moments throughout the day I'll say to myself "It's out of my hands" or "It's just none of my business" as a reminder to stop thinking about it And congratulations!

Had my last beta today and am being sent for an ultrasound late next week (will be 6w5/6d). If anyone has had experience in the first ultrasound and might be willing to share, I'd appreciate it - I am confused because I heard today that there is no doctor in the ultrasound, just a tech, and the tech isn't supposed to share information or say anything, but many people report seeing flickers on-screen, hearing heartbeats even, etc. How does that go down if they're not supposed to say anything?

With my clinic all my ultrasounds have been done by my fertility doctor. And its trans vaginal. Yesterday she showed me the flicker of the heart beat and I got to hear it.

Once you are 12 weeks then the ship you off to your OB. Even at my ultrasounds when baby was further along they show you the heart beat and everything. They just wont say anything to you if they find anything wrong they will just say the doctor will be in contact. And just ask questions if your confused mostly they will answer what they are measuring.

It is, yes! But my clinic has told me that the techs don't say anything... which contradicts all the people online who talk about their experiences in the room.

I should add - the doctor is not in the ultrasound (I'm in Toronto and I've asked around and it seems like doctors are usually not in any ultrasounds), which is really disappointing. I didn't think to ask before I joined my clinic.

Hey ladies, glad to hear that everyone is progressing How is everyone feeling now? 

 

Tracy- at my clinic they showed me the screen so I could see the baby and the nurse followed up a couple hours later with the official report. It seems cruel the clinic wouldn't let this happen! Let us know how it goes.

 

On my end, had my ultrasound last week (7w2d) and baby is measuring perfect with a heartbeat of 154- even got to see the little heartbeat flicker on the screen which made it oh so real. Dr confident this one is coming out healthy I would be more excited but I'm just so nauseous haha. Hope all of you ladies are faring well and sending such good energy

Sorry everyone I dropped off for a long time - this constant "hangover" feeling is really beating me up.

 

My ultrasound at 6w4d went great - measurement were good and I saw the heartbeat (120 bpm).

 

Tracy, I'm surprised that your clinic doesn't just show and explain to you what's happening directly during the ultrasound - hopefully the actual experience ends up much better than anticipated!

 

I had another ultrasound this Monday (8w1d), now with my regular OB + gave away SO MUCH BLOOD for their initial tests. Saw the heartbeat again, but their machine didn't have the functionality to measure it. Which is ok, as I have my "graduation" ultrasound at RE clinic next Monday, and their machine is great!

 

This is finally getting to feel more real as time goes on. After next week appointments will become more sparse - every 4 weeks, but I think I gain more and more trust in my little bean to grow and progress.

 

How is everyone else feeling? when are you guys graduating from RE to OB/midwives?

Had my ultrasound and everything looks great; seeing the heartbeat was very trippy. I talked to my clinic in advance about my concerns — which stem from an ultrasound at a different place several years ago that ended with my GP making a complaint about the tech, who was truly crazy and inappropriate — and they were very accommodating so I was able to be walked through it.

FuzzyDust, congratulations on your progress! My clinic releases to OB/etc. at 10 weeks but I have an appointment with my OB, who is high-risk (I may or may not have a bicornuate uterus — was extensively tested but nothing definitive — so I'll have extra monitoring) at eight weeks. I believe I'll overlap for a bit.

 

In terms of symptoms, I am very, very tired and intermittently nauseous. The fatigue feels like a combination of jet lag and floating, it's not the kind of tired you feel when you're short on sleep. Also hungry, cravings, thirsty!

A quick update on this group. My transfer in early October did not take. I was too devastated to post on here. I went on to do another round of IVF in Nov/Dec which yielded two decent 5 day blastocysts. We transferred both and one implanted. I'm now 7 weeks pregnant and had my first U/S and all looks good. The worrying has not stopped and I'm counting down to the next U/S in two weeks. I'm sorry I fell off the radar but wanted to post this update it may help someone in future.
