I had my retrieval today and Im so sad. I had 9 follicles all of dofferent sizes and today I was told they only got 2 eggs. Im still waiting to see what fertilized. I am so emotional right now. I dont know what happened. Could it be the switch In protocol? Maybe they were all empty. I dont even know.
@N1111 Don't give up hope yet, those two maybe the only two you need- remember it only takes one! When you are in the right mind set I would ask the RE what she or he thinks could be the issue. Be good to yourself as you wait to hear more news.

I have read empty follicles are a sign of poor egg quality. The eggs are there but they don't detach and become loose inside the follicle. On the other hand, the eggs you did get are likely the best eggs of the bunch, so you still have a chance of having something to transfer. I hope you get at least one embryo. Good luck.

N111 - I am so sorry you're disappointed by results My first IVF cycle, I had a similar occurrence - about 50% of my follicles were empty as well. But just a couple of good quality eggs are so rewarding, even if it's fewer than hoped. Hang on to hope for them!

Don't lose hope! It's quality that counts not quantity. These two may be your miracle!

I'm sorry to hear that. This is so emotional, extreme high and lows with slow loss of hope. I hear you and empathize with you. All that being said, now's the time to put your chin up and a brave face. You got TWO eggs! 2 chances! This could be it;). Sending all the best your way. Keep us posted.

You are doing your IVF in Greece? Is it cheaper than here?
Yes, it is $4500 Euros and that includes a ton of what is not included here. I just filled out the legal paperwork and it says this "According to recent bibliographic data, the pregnancy success rate per cycle of IVF treatment is approximately 26%. In our unit, the above rates are approximately 48%, with 43% delivery success rate." We choose Embryolabs in Greece and I am feeling better and better about it as we get closer, just really nervous to fly at this time.
5 - 6 cells:)!!!! This is so exciting! 2 more days and come on baby:). From what i read, I think I want to let the cells grow for the 5 days also, but there is so much information that i get lost in it all.
