Hi all,

We will begin another cycle shortly and Ive been a bit confused about the charge of assisted hatching on my retrieval bill since I plan on a) freeze all cycle and B) PGS testing. The financial rep for the clinic said that they perform assisted hatching on day 3. I know this is the case for fresh transfers but have never heard of this being done in a freeze all cycle. Has anyone done this? Want to make sure Im not going to be double charged for the AH if we hopefully have a FET later on!

Assisted hatching is standard practice on embryos at our clinic. I'm not sure at what point it is done, but for both of our cycles which were going to be FETs right from the start, it was done.

We also had assisted hatching done with our first FET and will most likely have it done with our second one :)

Hi ladies,

I've had AH done as well, but always had it done after thawing, right before FET. Never had it done prior to freezing! Wondering if this is a new technique or if the clinic has made a billing error!

Do they have to do assisted hatching to biopsy the embryos?

Sorry Misskika, I misunderstood your post! I've never heard mention of doing it prior to freezing, just before the FET. Sorry I couldn't help!
