Hopefully doing a fresh transfer end of feb/beginning of March after our first ever ivf, I have a small polyp that is only 6mm so the dr doesn’t want to remove it but if it grows we will forgo the fresh transfer and do a Fet very end of March beginning of April after it’s removed

I start injections on feb 13. Our dd was conceived with 2 cycles of natural iui (we needed to use donor sperm). We were going to just do iui again because I got pregnant so easily but we found out our donor is no longer available so we only have the few vials left over from dds iuis and I don’t want to chance iui not working again so we are going straight to ivf to increase our odds. I’m hoping it goes smoothly as my Amh etc are all great but if I’ve learned anything from this journey it’s that nothing goes as you plan lol. I’m a little bummed about the prospect of ivf as the iuis were so simple and cheap and didn’t require any meds but I’m going in with a positive attitude and hoping we can get a good number of embryos to possibly have the option to try for baby 3 in the future. Kind of scared about the process with a super clingy toddler.... I’ve heard there are lifting restrictions etc after transfer so I’m not sure how that will go since I’m a SAHM.

Just looked at your sig and dd is the 3rd of dec so they are super close in age

Ladies,
Our doctor never advised my wife to take baby aspirin, and I know many of you on this forum and people in my personal network do take it.
I always ask myself what if the doctor had advised my wife to take it in our previous FET attempt in late November 2019, things probably would have turned out to be positive. Anyway, my wife is planning to do another FET in March (depending on when her period will come back) and she will for sure take baby aspirin.
Also, how often do you take baby aspirin and vitamins? If her FET is scheduled in March, should she start taking them now (today is January 30, 2020)?

Nicky - I would also go your route and want to have the best possible chance! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! I've been thinking about the lifting restrictions as well. A lot of the people in my previous FET forum were second time Mom's and they said they did what they had to do. My daughter can be very clingy as well! We have 2 frozem embryos left so we are hoping for the best.
tsm - I hope this round is successful! There are always so many what ifs. As per my protocol, I'm taking a prenatal now(I could also just do 1mg of folic acid if I wanted). I'm also taking a vitamin D. I start baby aspirin the same day I start Suprefact(Feb. 12).

Thanks. Yeah the lifting restrictions worry me as well. The grandparents have offered to take dd for a couple days so I may take them up on that. She has stayed there twice before and they only live a few mins away so I’m thinking I might let them to give myself the best chance.

Hi! I'm hoping to have a March transfer too. I've done a fresh transfer and an FET in the past, the FET was successful and we have an 18-month-old son We're fortunate to still have 8 embryos from our IVF cycle.
Right now I'm just waiting for my period to start. I'm guessing the transfer will be in early March. My clinic told me they've changed their recommended protocol. Now instead of just oral estrace and vaginal prometrium, they also want me to do PIO shots twice a week once I start the prometrium. So that'll be fun...
My goal for the upcoming transfer(s) is to worry less this time around. Praying for BFPs for us all!

Diagnosis: Low sperm count & motility
IVF #1 - Aug 2017 - Antagonist Protocol
18 eggs retrieved → all mature → ICSI'd 16 eggs → 12 fertilized → 10 blastocysts
froze 9, transferred 1 fresh embryo - BFN
FET #1 - Oct 2017 - transferred 1 embryo - BFP!!
our son was born July 2018
FET #2 - Mar 2020 - transferred 1 embryo - chemical (beta = 5)
FET #3 - Jun 2020 - transferred 1 embryo - BFN
FET #4 - Oct 2020 - transferred 1 embryo - BFN
FET #5 - Dec 2020 - transferred 1 embryo - chemical (beta = 42)

Welcome RosySkies! 8 embryos is an amazing number!! Are you doing a natural cycle or medicated? PIO shots do not sound fun to me, very grateful to only have to do the suppositories..
YES! I would also like to worry less

CMRivf - I'm doing a medicated cycle. I think this is the standard practice at my clinic, since they didn't bring up the option of doing a natural cycle.
tsm37 - I'm just doing oral estrogen pills, no patch. Sorry to hear about the miscarriage
Got my period today so it's cycle day 1. My clinic sent me a timetable but I'm confused because they said to only take one 2 mg estrace pill per day until my lining check on Feb 25. My prescription is for 3 (2 mg) tabs per day, and my last FET I had taken 3 per day too. On the phone nursing had said taking just one today is fine. I believe they're closed now since it's a Sunday, so hopefully I'll find out for sure tomorrow morning.

RosySkies: thanks for the info. It certainly helps because when my wife begins her next FET (she got her period a couple days ago), I can draw a comparison on what you ladies have been advised versus our clinic. My wife and I are trying to figure out what else we can do to boost our success rate next time.

Rosy - Gotcha! My clinic does offer natural cycles but I'm 2.5 hours away so it doesn't make sense for me to go that route. Does your estrace increase in a few days? If I remember correctly, I started at a lower does for a few days and then it eventually increased as time wen on.
tsm - so sorry to read about your wife's miscarriage.

CMRivf - I called my clinic today and I am indeed supposed to take 3 tabs per day. They said it was a computer error or something. It was ok that I just took one yesterday though. I checked my notes and for my last FET, I took 3 tabs per day until a few days after my lining check. Then they asked my to start the progesterone (prometrium) and decreased the estrogen to 2 2mg tabs per day. Then I stayed on those same doses until I was 10 weeks pregnant.
tsm37 - As long as your wife is able to get a good lining (>7 mm), I don't think the method of getting the estrogen should make too much of a difference. An interesting thing my doctor told me, he has seen recent studies that show using both vaginal progesterone and the progesterone shots (PIO) can somewhat increase pregnancy rates for FETs. For quite a while now, in Canada and Europe most clinics would use only vaginal progesterone and US clinics only used the PIO shots. So his recommendation to us was to try both even though I had success with only the vaginal progesterone before, I'd have to do the shots about twice a week. I said ok, if it helps our chances a little I'll do it!

RosySkies: vaginal progesterone + PIO, interesting. My wife told me there is a chance that vaginal progesterone could fall off from the vagina. I will speak with my wife and our doctor to explore that + PIO. It's worth to explore if it helps our chances a little!
CRMivf: thank you My wife is targeting an April fresh FET transfer. The doctor said they want to do a FET transfer as if it were a fresh.
Ladies, did you ever do lipoprotein during our IVF? I spoke with a female friend of mine who had a successful IVF on her first try. She said a few of her friends did lipoprotein in their successful FET. I'm not saying lipoprotein is the success factor because there are a lot of things involved, including luck, embryo quality, etc. but I'm just wondering whether you considered lipoprotein or your doctor suggested you to do it.
Posted 11 February 2020 - 03:36 PM
Rosy - do you have an estimated transfer date?
tsm: My doctors have never mention lipoprotein to me and I had never heard of it before looking it up today. Everybody's clinics are always so different with protocols though. Have you and your wife talked to your doctor about it?

Hi everyone,
My transfer date is Feb 27, but can I sneak into this discussion anyway? I'm a patient at Victoria, but I've been dealing with PCRM somewhat this time too, since they're under the same ownership now.
We did one round of IVF in Winnipeg that went badly. They retrieved one egg, and I got pregnant and lost it at 7 weeks. My second round was in Victoria. It was a freeze-all cycle. My first FET there was a success. I have an 18-month old son born in August 2018 and two frozen embryos. We're transferring one of those this time (a grade 2 early bast).
Starting this process again has been hard, but also exciting. I'm trying so hard not to get too hopeful because we already have one child now. We'd love so much for him to have a little brother or sister.
I'm also doing PIO this time for the first time. Last time I did endometrium vaginally (3x/day) and prometrium (1x/day) orally. This time I'm still doing the endometrium but also doing PIO every third day. They sent me a recent study showing that the rates of miscarriage are much lower with some PIO, whether it's every day by itself or just every third day along with endometrium. At first I asked if I could skip it and they agreed, but then I changed my mind when I saw the study. My first shot was yesterday. I was pretty nervous about it but it didn't hurt at all going in! The muscle definitely feels sore now, but it's not at all as scary as I was anticipating.
Another change was that this time they didn't add aspirin to my protocol. I said I'd had it last time and I wanted it again, so they added it in. I haven't taken it quite every day though because I started getting nose bleeds. They also didn't plan to do assisted hatching this time, but I asked for that as well, since we had it with out son.
I had a bit of a worry that my cycle would get cancelled because at my lining check, my lining was 8mm, but they couldn't see if it was trilaminar. The clinic wanted to go ahead anyway because they said non-specialists sometimes have a hard time seeing if it's trilaminar. I did an extra scan at the clinic in Winnipeg to make sure, and it all looked good, and was 9.1mm by that time, so we're going ahead.
IVF#1 (April 2017): retrieved one egg, fresh 3-day transfer, missed miscarriage around 7 weeks, D&C
IVF#2 (Sept 2017): retrieved 23 eggs, 22 mature, 18 fertilized, 3 frozen on day 5, no transfer
FET#1 (Nov 2017): one grade 3 blast (upgraded to grade 2 at transfer), first β-HCG of 751 at 12dp5dt, delivered my son at 39w6d by unplanned c-section
FET#2 (Feb 2020): one grade 2 early blast, first β-HCG of 480 at 11dp5dt. 7w3d ultrasound showed embryo measuring 7w2d with a heart rate of 153. Heart rate at 12w5d: 148, at 16w4d: 147
