elephantshoes- haha i totally know what you mean with the work obligations! when i was admitted in april, i brought my laptop too although i didnt end up using it at all. i would be proud of that fact except that i know my original intention was to use it, i just couldnt because i was in pain.. but anyway i did announce to everyone today that im officially disappearing next wednesday! i do feel like people will reach out for urgent things and that could be okay if it doesnt become a norm!

im trying not to set expectations with breastfeeding, but my ideal plan is to do both boob and formula. im trying to read ina mays guide to breastfeeding, but i feel like i have so many things to read that i just dont get around to it. i guess every babe and every boob is a crapshoot with compatibility haha

yaena- so glad that DD is handling things so well!! im sorry that the numbness and pain is still there and still causing you so much grief. i hope youre at least getting some rest so you can heal up and feel physically better. the fluid retention can be a nightmare too :( my doctors just told me to drink water and stay hydrated so your body doesnt make it worse. i even tried drinking the organic weightless tea for fluid retention but it didnt really help. just had to wait it out while looking like the michelin man.

and as always i absolutely adore your name choices!! Adesewa is pronounced so beautifully.

hope you ladies are doing wonderfully! im still getting my cramps and back pain at random occasions. a couple friends have decided to guess a day when they think baby will be here and everyone is guessing early! even though i feel like he might be early too, i think hes defied my expectations so far and will be 40w or more haha is it time to start drinking red raspberry leaf tea and eat dates?

Elation - Sounds very wise, to keep your expectations and options open. I mean, in the end we really have so little say in so much (breastfeeding, timing of birth!). These kiddos will just do what they do.  And thanks! But I totally can't take credit for Adesewa - DH brought that one to me, during the c section actually.

I vote yes for the tea anytime after 36/37 weeks! What is your official due date again?

It has been a roller coaster of a last 24 hours here. Seriously. After some initial breastfeeding success, things have become so challenging. Isla's latch has gotten lazy, which means the nipples are nice and chewed up - so elephantshoes, I totally feel your pain there. Mine have been getting stuck to breast pads and clothing. Ouch. Then, yesterday, she started refusing to nurse entirely. She had already been doing this lazy thing where she would latch, suck suck suck, then fall asleep. I spent our sessions keeping her awake, over and over again. She would easily take 30 minutes per side even, and sometimes didn't bother with both sides. And then she just started refusing to latch. I would get her on the boob, and she would wail. But she was obviously hungry. And the wailing - the first one was around supper and she just cried till she was hoarse (and DD too, who is super sensitive). Then it happened again, a couple of hours later (she fell asleep in between). Finally I told DH he needed to go find formula (for the record, I told him two months ago we should have a small box of ready made on hand and he said no).

So off he goes to find some formula - and 45 minutes later still isn't home. It's nearly midnight, DD#1 is asleep, and Isla has been wailing for nearly an hour till she is hoarse, her mouth is dry to the touch and her lips are chapped. She won't eat. I call him in tears and tell him to get home NOW - apparently there is no place to buy this stuff at midnight here? By the time he gets home we are both exhausted. He takes the baby, I go hide in the basement and cry till I hyperventilate (PS, the hormone crash may be happening too). He finally gets her calm and comes to get me. We get up to our room and she starts again. I tell him we need to call someone or take her in or something. A quick call with our health line later, and we've been directed to Emerg. Of course, DH has to wait in the car because of covid rules, and I have had 2 hours sleep in 2 days, so I am trying to be coherent and a good mom and get through this. They tested her bilirubin (blood test this time ) - came back fine. But she has lost a couple of pounds since the day before so the doctor - who was awesome - says he is bringing formula and it's time to introduce it.

In the end, it is only a feeding issue and she is taking formula. I rented a pump to try and help and I am making like a 1/4 tsp maybe, total, per feed. Poor kid got tired of getting nothing. We will keep supplementing and I will try to enhance what i can supply her with breastmilk too.

Sorry for the long windedness - I am so exhausted today.

yaena- haha I say that now, but I still have hope that things might turn out the way I hope. While Im dreaming, maybe he can just pop right out with a sneeze haha by the way bringing up a new name choice mid-C-section, very bold move!

Oh Im so sorry to hear about the sudden breastfeeding woes! I plan to order some ready to feed liquid formula from amazon just to have on hand when baby gets here. I have one bottle from a sample I think. Im entirely prepared for breastfeeding to fail haha

My official due date is Aug 27, so I still have a couple of weeks to panic. DH is still in the middle of ripping up carpets and doing floors, which also means the house is an unholy mess. I actually tripped over the vacuum hose and fell in slow motion onto my knee, also because in doing so I kicked the dog in the face =___= ai have turned into a clutz. I kicked a rock by accident today and my toe now has a little scab forming lol

I think Im officially ready for baby wearing lol I have like five different types that were given to me! A KTan, a Hotsling, a Cuby, a BabyBjorn, and an Ergobaby Omni 360. Oh and a Mama Kangaroo wrap thing. What I really wanted was a ring sling lmao the one thing I dont have and now really cant justify getting.

Im gonna go out and try to find some red raspberry leaf tea tomorrow.

Hope youre both getting some good rest in! And Yaena hope your milk comes in strong and baby Isla can hop right back onto the breastfeeding train.

Elation - haha, pop out during a sneeze. Wouldn't that be awesome? How are the home renos coming along? I would be having so much anxiety about them! How are you feeling otherwise?

The 27th isn't too far off now!

My milk didn't come in :( formula it is for us again. After three solid days of pumping, trying cluster pumping, and my poor nipples being cracked and bleeding and peeling, I gave up. I mean - an entire day of sessions, both sides, and I didn't have half an ounce (and Isla drinks 2 oz now per feed!). It was frustrating though, because I had told DH about the struggles - as well as a couple of mom friends. I always got the very distinct impression he wanted me to keep trying - he never said "hey, it's ok if you need to stop". And so when I stopped - with a doctor mom friend even saying it seemed likely I am one of those (uncommon) women who just can't breastfeed - he got angry and told me he felt like I had done it without consulting him. I can't say anything to him though because if I do, he'll fight back with "whenever I open up and tell you what's bothering me, you get angry" and then I have to calm that down.

Otherwise, we are hanging in there. Isla is gaining again, almost back to her birth weight. She has some definite fussy spells but on the whole she's a super baby. My hands are arms are still awful but I think one might be slowly improving so I am hopeful. I am showing signs of PPD again, so I have a call in to my doctor today to get back on my prescription meds. DD is struggling a bit too, I see some jealousy happening  - she just needs more time with me so I am trying. It is just hard because DH doesn't take over with her when I leave her for DD - he just tosses her in a pack n play and starts using his phone/laptop/watching tv. So I feel like I am already spending a fair bit of time parenting two kids already. Ugh.

Aw Yaena, dont feel bad about breastfeeding! A fed baby is what's important. In everything I've read, there's nothing wrong at all with formula and I will 10000% go that route if my boobs put up the fight.  You know your body best, and your physical/mental/emotional health is also a priority!  But yes I also get the "whenever I open up you get angry" argument lol to which I usually respond with something like "maybe if your real thoughts weren't so dumb.." or something equally snarky.

The 27th isnt too far!  And the home renos ARE stressing me out! But I also am kind of indifferent.  I think I'm focused on worrying about how this nugget is gonna make its way out of me more than the sty that my house is.  Two more days of work and I'm freeeeee (although I really probably can't do much because any day now right?  My neighbour told me she ate spicy wings and went into labour haha oh I also picked up some red raspberry tea, but I'm pretty sure it's not the right one since theres a bunch of other things mixed in with it.

Wow glad you have a super baby!  I really hope your arms return to normal soon.. does your doc have anything to say about that now?  And I'm really glad you're addressing the signs of PPD!  I think my friend is maybe going through that but she's not very open so.. I don't know how to help.  I just try to show her I care by swinging by with little gifts or reaching out every once in a while.

I'm sorry its being such a struggle to juggle both your babies though, that's something I worry about although on a bit of a different level.  DH does like using his phone/laptop a lot and, well this might sound dumb, but my dogs are bit more attached to me than DH. I hope I can give them all the attention they want too!  I think one of my dogs is jealous, or acting out, or something.  The older one is so sweet and follows me everywhere, super gentle and gives me all the snuggles.  But the younger one has started occasionally jumping her for no reason!  It makes me worry about what'll happen when baby is here...

Worrying about the dogs isn't silly at all, Elation! With our first, I was so stressed about our old cat (who was totally "my" cat). I kept sending DH home to check on him, feed him, spend some time with him. They really can be like children to us in so many ways, and sense all these changes so much. And I swear they have feelings too, so of course you will worry. Just do the best you can - I worried about my old cat rejecting DD and in the end, he was cautious at first then became totally fascinated by her. They were total buddies.

Yeah, I had/have pre-existing depression, and have to go off my meds for pregnancies/fertility treatments so I am always on high alert. (I could try switching meds but I have never felt like pregnancy is the right time to be messing around with that - and I love how well they work otherwise.) I had PPD with our first, and it took me weeks to realize it. This time, I feel like it could still just be the typical baby blues - it has only been a week - but realistically, I will be going back on my meds eventually so isn't it best to just start them now?

My c section is healing, but slowly. I had to briefly lift DD #1 today (onto the potty, DH was outside) and I paid for that with some immediate pain. But it has eased up and no bleeding, so i think I got off easy. No more of that. I have been getting down on my knees to hug her fully, and she has been trying to lift her legs so I carry her, too. We snuggled together all the time before Isla arrived, so I am trying hard to find ways to still recognize her but it is hard. Elephant - any tips?

Haha Yaena, I'm glad you get it- our furbabies were our first babies. At one point I thought they might be my only babies.  My dogs are in their middle aged years now, 7 and 8yrs.  I think they are not as adaptable as they once were!  I hope they become best buddies with the baby though.

I agree, if its medically okay to go back on them, then it sounds like a good idea!  I had a bout of depression in University and it was awful; that was also when I was ignorant about chemical imbalances.  But I'm glad you are looking after yourself now and being real with what you need.  It's so so important for your own mental health.  I'm looking into perinatal anxiety counselling and probably should be looking into a psychologist in general, since I'm sure I'm carrying a lot of family baggage (got kicked out when I graduated, parents have a horrible relationship, no immediate family was at my wedding lol).  I'm just not too sure where to start either.

I just had my 37.9w ultrasound, baby's head is measuring 43.1w now!  What in the world... but looks like I'm now in the running for vaginal delivery with an induction to be schedule if nothing by 40w.  The doc said we'll begin cervix checks next week as that sometimes stimulates labour and he doesn't want to do that before 38w.

Glad that your c-section is healing!  Best to take it easy like you said though, there's no award from pushing yourself too hard too early.  Hopefully elephantshoes has some wisdom in the area!

Elephantshoes, how are things going over there?

Hey Elation -  Sorry for the silence! Things have been chaos over here, but I have been thinking of you and trying to make time to get back and check in!

How are you doing? Are you feeling ready to go? Did you have your first cervical check yet?

We're fighting through suspected colic with Isla - ugh. She cries ALL freaking day, it is so hard. She is gaining weight, and had her first check up yesterday - back up over her birth weight, so everyone is happy (birth weight was 8lbs3, she was down to 7lbs4 when we went to the ER, and is up to 8lbs7 now). We are exclusively on formula, and have had to switch to a a gentle formula from our go-to Similac to try and help - which means mixing powders and boiling water and man, it is constant logistics! Our toddler hates all the crying, she is such an energetic but easygoing and sensitive kid, so she wears headphones most of the time. It's rough, I feel for her. I know this too will pass but in the meantime I am spending a small fortune trying to find a bottle that helps, a soother Isla will accept (she rejects them all now), a rock/sway/bounce she likes, etc. She is ok with my ergo carrier but I am trying a sling too, for something a little less bulky if I have to walk at night. On the upside (I guess?) I have already lost 30 of the 40 lbs I gained.

No worries Yaena! I kind of expect that theres full chaos after a newborn haha days blend into nights blend into weeks.. at least thats what I hear!

Im just getting back from my OB appt where he did a cervical check- Im at 1cm (not sure if thats length? or dilation? or what that even really means? haha) but wow they really shove their fingers up in there!

Im so sorry youre going through suspected colic! That must be really hard on the whole family.. One of my friends went through that for the first couple months of their baby and described it as a P.U.R.P.L.E baby but Im not really sure they could do anything except suffer through it. It must be especially hard with a toddler too :( I hope maybe the pediatrician can advise something? And I also hope you can still squeeze some sleep in!

At any rate, dont worry about going silent for a while, take care of yourself and your family!! Ill update if anything happens over here haha but I still feel like itll be another week of the waiting game. Im also still going out and about while I still can :P I am hoping he comes a couple days before due date though. I feel like the anxiety of past 40 weeks wont be physically or mentally comfortable, and also having to deal with an induction.... 😫

Elation - 1cm is dilation :) I was the same at 38.5 weeks. Did he say anything about effacement? How are you feeling now?

And yes! Man, those fingers go way up there to check!

There is a little sleep happening, at least for me. Isla is doing better (fingers crossed) at sleeping in her pack and play at night - so I am getting little one hour chunks here and there. DH is not faring so well - all the newborn noises bother him, while I sleep with my head next to her white noise machine so I hear them less, haha. (Basically she is about three feet away - just her noise machine is between us.) We have our days split up so we each have the "opportunity" for 6 hours of sleep total - plus cat naps here and there. I am lucky that mine is in one big chunk at night, so long as I am disciplined enough to be in bed asleep by 9pm. It has meant no real "me" time at all, but following it has made coping with my PPD so much more manageable. Today, I took Isla out for a walk by myself, then strapped her in her Ergo newborn carrier and got a ton done - laundry, cleaned the dishes and kitchen, and a bunch of little random to-do's - and made supper. I felt so much better, and she actually slept the whole way through it, she loves the carrier.

On the down side - my left arm and hand are totally not recovering at all. No signs of improvement. My right arm has gotten almost better but I think the left is either going to take months, or require some extra help. Which is tough since I am left handed. I will bring it up at the one month check up (we elected to do one, with all the gas/crying going on post-feeding around here).

Hope you're hanging in there! I keep checking back for updates and news!

Hey Yaena! Glad youre getting a little bit of sleep in at least and Isla is doing better. Hmm makes me think I need to get a white noise machine asap haha. I think we are going to try to do some time splitting too so we get some chunks of sleep in. No idea how thingsll actually work out though!
How is DD doing? Oh man I cant believe the cubital tunnel isnt going away! I hope the doc will take some real action now that it isnt going away post pregnancy... I had a couple days of a numbing left arm but it seems to come and go. It just feels really weak.

Im totally banking on using baby carriers a lot, although I hear moderation is important so they dont always get used to being attached to your body? I was gifted an Ergobaby that Im looking forward to trying out. I dont have a ring sling, but was thinking of making one.. not sure if Ill actually get around to that though.

AFM- Nothing yet, and all he mentioned at the cervix check was the 1cm and that it was soft and thinning? I lost a huge chunk of mucus plug the next day and Im still losing smaller chunks yesterday and today. Ive had people tell me I have 24-48h after the bloody show before labour, but Im sure it varies greatly from person to person. Crazy to think this coming Thursday will be 40w!

I havent been sleeping well from ovary cyst pain on one side and fibroid pain on the other, and my belly is now super lopsided. I get short of breath lying down and I just cant get comfortable! Tired, but cant sleep. Hes still regularly twitching in there too, I guess any day now!

Hes here! Grayson arrived yesterday 10:41pm Aug 23 at 39w+3 weighing 7lbs 10oz!! I have to say, epidural is a literal life saver. I had a high water break and light contractions start at 4:30ish am yesterday morning and went into the hospital around 9. They told me I was 2cm and 90% effaced. Kinda suffered through contractions and got into the birthing suite at 2:30pm, where they had a big labour ball and a tub and some other things I didnt use. Epidural was in at 5pm and it was all painless after that. Around 8:45p they broke the rest of my water since there was no progress. At 9pm I was still only 3cm but 100% effaced and baby had fully descended. The nurse could touch his head and spine! They started the lowest dose of oxytocin, then I started to feel more bum pressure and the nurse checked me at 9:45pm, I was fully dilated at 10cm!! I started pushing a bit after 10 and boom. Baby was out. i watched in the reflection of a ceiling light cover lol it was so surreal!

Ended up with a second degree tear, probably why Im so sore! Stitching up took a while since apparent the tear goes deep. I have no idea how well feeding is working cuz it doesnt seem like anything is happening, but hes peeing and pooping so something must be going right!

I cant believe hes finally here! It felt like I was pregnant for five years lol Im so tired

Yay! Welcome to the world, Grayson - congratulations, elation! (Epidurals are WONDERFUL!) So glad things went well and you are getting to know one another. How are those fibroids? Do you even care about them right now? :) How are the pups adjusting?

(So funny you commented about the reflection - I watched bits and pieces of the c section the same way! I couldn't see details really but saw enough haha!)

I can't believe we've all had our babies now - thanks to everyone for being such a great group and support over the last 9ish months. Best of luck to you all on this crazy parenting journey. If anyone wants to stay in touch, feel free to post or to send me a message!

The fibroids are now free floating meteors inside me! They give me pain every once in a while. And I only care when they start hurting haha but the dogs have been interesting. One of them is suuuper chill, with the crying with the change of attention, everything. But the other dog has become a lot more protective and whiny. She follows me everywhere and wont want to go outside or even downstairs for that matter. I dont know.

I actually like the semi unclear reflection watching haha if it had been a mirror Im sure I would have freaked myself out. But I am glad that it was there enough.

So Im in a new circle of hell, Im trying to breastfeed and Im pretty sure baby has little teeth nubs. TEETH NUBS WHY?! Anyway Im gonna go turn the pump on now...

Yes this has been an awesome group, thank you all! I still think of a lot of people who have dropped over time and I hope if you ever come back to this thread that youre doing well!

Ill message you Yaena!

Hi ladies, I bet everyone must be busy taking care of our new bundle of joy. How’s every one and the little ones doing?
My little guy is now 7m and rolling everywhere. He started solid now too. He has a very bad cow’s milk allergies and now on Enfamil Nutramigen only ;-( anyway call me crazy but we are thinking of doing another round of IVF to freeze up all our embryos before transfering again. I have 4 left but my RE said the quality is not that good. I am really exciting. Hopefully the waitlist for the fund cycle is not taking too too long ;-) stay safe ladies.

Hi Canadamommy! Glad to hear things are going well - yay for mobile babies, right? Sorry about the allergy though - must have been a struggle in the early days (and that formula definitely doesn't come cheap :( ). Our LO went through a bunch of trial and error with formula herself, as she had colic and some digestive struggles - we were lucky enough not to need the hypoallergenic formulas in the end, but it wasn't a fun process to find what did work for her!

We've settled into our own happy chaos here - Isla is just about 6 months, and now that the colic passed is a super happy baby. Rolls from back to tummy but hates her tummy so much she hasn't mastered the roll back yet. Loves her jumperoo, loves to be entertained by her big sister. Loves to use her voice (she is a LOUD baby - not crying, just a loud talker!).

We're pretty sure that we are complete as a family here. We have three embryos remaining with the clinic and will have to decide in May whether to keep them frozen or destroy, or what. Trying not to think of that question for now, but I can't see me ever having another pregnancy. Still recovering from this one in a lot of ways. Canadamommy, it's exciting that you are thinking of trying for more! Best of luck to you!

Thanks so much Yaena. I am very exciting just thinking of trying again. I lost 1 baby girl and dying to have another one. I wonder how much egg would I make now that im 37 though. And Im not sure if I should send them to pgs or not. Its so expensive ;-(

And yeah weve been struggling and still struggling with his skin issue. My little poor baby is covered with really bad eczema from head to toes. We had to go the ER when he was 2m because it was infected and he also got a severe allergic reaction to the meds they gave him too. Abd about formula, I was doing sooo good on breastfeeding (i have like 400-500oz in the freezer) and now that hes allergic to cows milk, he cant have it at all 😞

And wow, I cant believe that your little one is now 6m!!! It seems like it was just yesterday that I heard about your good news ;-) im so glad shes doing great!!! Having a relationship with her big sister is just so precious.

Anyway thank you so much once again hun.

Hallo Lovely Ladies. I tried IVF/FET for the first time last year, got pregnant in September but miscarried on Canadian thanksgiving. After reading lots of miscarriage stories I decided to find stories from women who had succeeded. I found your blog and started reading every day beginning from your postings in March. I have enjoyed each one of you and have laughed through some of your hillarious musings. This week I finally got to the end. If someone decides to take your posts and create a novel I will buy it and read your stories again.

Yaena I loved all the titbits & reactions about your husband. When you mentioned towards the end about his Nigerian roots something clicked. I am afrocanadian and can relate completely.

Elation I monitored your fibroids which are now free floating meteors... You amused me with this expression. I have fibroids too... tiny one less than 2cm so I am very encouraged by your success.

Canadamommy thank you for reviving everyone. I saw your other post about starting again at 37 and said to myself... I know this lady. Of course I only know you from this pregnancy journey.

Just want to say that you all really encouraged me. And congratulations to all of you for your babies.

I have one day 6 embryo left (I only got two) and hope that one works. I will try again in April.

Jewel

canadamommy- so good to hear from you again! I cant believe how quickly time passes. Sorry to hear about your babys bad milk allergy! 400-500oz of stashed milk is freaking INCREDIBLE. Your boobs should get some kind of award. I struggled hard to get my babys weight up because my supply was super janky at the start and Im always worried its not enough. My boy also has some eczema (probably from his dad) and Ive been slathering on the aveeno cream lately. He got an outer ear infection a few weeks ago that my doc thinks could be from infected eczema. He got a lot of antibiotics that he just did not want to take =\ Im so sorry your baby ended up allergic to the meds they gave him too! That mustve been unbelievably stressful.
Anyway, I dont think youre crazy for longing for the baby girl you lost. Im so sorry that happened to you. Tbh my husband keeps mentioning a baby girl and were thinking of trying for another at some point. I have four untested frozen that are mediocre in quality (~4CB) so not sure what to expect there! Also the idea of my body going full stupid again because of hormonal drugs does not excite me... Glad you still have access to a funded cycle!

Yaena- your happy chaos with two babies is encouraging the idea of expanding my family! Especially that your older one entertains baby Isla haha sounds so helpful. Maybe the jump from 1 kid to 2 isnt as big as the jump from 0 to 1...
Speaking of recovery, did your cubital tunnel end up resolving itself now?

Jewels4me- hello :) Im glad our journeys could be a source of inspiration and hope for you! Im so sorry about your loss last thanksgiving. I cant imagine what that mustve felt like on thanksgiving too. And also fibroids suck! Sorry youre lugging around some too. Mine gave me so much grief and I havent checked up on them because of the pandemic. Im glad yours are small and I hope they dont bother you. Good luck with your day 6 embryo! It only takes one :)

AFM- Im still trying to get my thyroid under control. I do blood tests every now and then as well as adjust the medication Im on to see if Ill need this for life. Pregnancy really messes up the body sometimes eh.. did not expect that. My baby also now battles with sleep like no ones business. He woke up every 1-2h last night. Im kinda scratching my head with what to do about it. He occasionally throws in an 8-9 hour stretch (and one time even 11h!) but then goes back to his hourly wakings. And naps! They last 30m now. Im looking forward to one day sleeping again..

Elation - yeah the Eczema is not fun at all. Its so sad to see how struggle my little one is. His face is full with eczema that weeping all the time. Hydrocortisone does help but I cant use it everyday ;-( I just wish itll go away soon. One good thing though, even his skin being this bad, he is still such a happy boy. One day I went into his room just to see if he needs some milk and I found him covered in blood. He gave me a huge smile as soon as he saw my face. I didnt know if I should be happy or sad at the time ;-(

Jewel4me - thank you for your kinda word hun. I am so sorry for your loss. Ive been there too so I totally understand.

Anyway I had a phone consultation with my RE today.
In and order to put my name on the wait list, me and my husband has to have some works done again like those blood work, u/s, sperm analysis. He also told me that the wait list is 12m but it depends. Some people gets in early like 8 or 7m so it might come sooner (finger crossed). I still do have 4 embryos left (4aa, 3aa, 2 morulas. They are all day6) so if we decided to transfer them while waiting we can. Im really excited. Ladies, ill never learn LOL.

Canadamommy2- ohhh I am so sorry to hear about how bad the eczema is!! I hope it clears up soon.. can you see a dermatologist about it? Could it clear up now that the cows milk is clearing out of his system? I really hope he improves each day, even if its just little by little! It hurts seeing our little ones hurt.

Im excited for you!! I was just going through my journal about my IVF experience and remembering how completely clueless I was lol the round I did was my funded cycle and I joined the wait list in 2017. Do you know if your clinic does it by lottery, by their own triage, or by chronological order? I am secretly thinking of number two..... hehe

JewelsMe - thanks for the kind words! I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage (I do know firsthand how rough that experience it, sadly) - and at Thanksgiving. Man. What a kick in the pants. I hope you'll have a much happier outcome with your day 6 embie. Fingers and toes are crossed for you!

Canadamommy - whoa! Consult already! Such an exciting feeling to be moving forward, even if only to a wait list! Sounds like you definitely have options! Best of luck to you. And, I don't think I've said it but I do understand longing for your little girl - I think we had a brief exchange back when we found out the sex of our now-here babies, and how ironic it was. You were longing for a girl, me a boy, to replace lost babes (we don't know for sure, of course for ours - but I have always known in my heart that our baby lost right before this pregnancy was a little boy). And we each had what the other was hoping for. The thought has crossed my mind to try again myself - as you will relate to, not because any part of me is unhappy with my baby I just had, but there is still that little part wishing for what was lost. I hope you will have your little girl next.

And the eczema! Oh man - poor you and your little guy. Out of curiosity, how was your ER experience? We had to take Isla in - I think it was two days after we were discharged? Turns out, my boobs are exactly the opposite of yours - they weren't producing anything and she was starving. Easy fix, but I was absolutely amazed by how kind the doctors and nurses were to us. It was the best awful experience, if that makes sense.

Little updates here - life is moving insanely quickly! Isla's had her 6 month shots, we're about to (re)start solids (I started them with her, then backed off because she wasn't quite ready). And our first DD is starting preschool in the fall. I need time to slow down!

Yaena - wow for milestones for your girls. Solid can be really challenging and preschool can be heart breaking and somewhat relief at the same time (my son just started his SK last sep too. We kept him home for the JK and was hoping to put him in JK last sep but they wouldnt let us😂)

anyway our ER experience was something else. We had to go to ER 4 times within a day and a half LOL.

First time his eczema was really bad so the ER prescribed some oral antibiotic (he react to it. He got red rashy+hives everywhere on his belly and all over body) so we went back couple hours later. (Good thing is was the peek of covid season so the ER was quick. We got in and out within 3 hrs)

2nd time - dr said its normal reaction but actually the dose was too low so he double our dose with the same antibiotic. Came home gave him double dose. Boom his face was all swollen, difficult breathing, rash+hives everywhere so my husband whos a dentist (he knew for sure its the reaction to the antibiotic) took him to the er himself.

3rd time - now its at 12 am. Poor little guy had to be monitor with all the wire and stuff and got epiniphren shot to stop the reaction. New dr prescribe oral steriod for eczema on the face and no antibiotic since he got a steriod shot

4th time (and last time within a day and a half) dearest husband just realized the new antibiotic is in the same family as the first one (penicilin) so I had to take my little guy back to the ER again lol. This time Thank goodness its the shift of my ER drs friend so we went in to see her. No more steriod orally but switched to hydrocortisone, Eucresia (for the face), and new antibiotic

Even though we were in and our of the ER, my little guy was so smiley that no one can even tell that hes so sick Lol. We were talk of the town for couple days😂😂😂
