We used a private practitioner in Aurora, Karen McLennan. She is amazing. We did ours over a summer when there was some downtime and we managed to get everything done by the end of the summer.

So it seems that if you do a private homestudy you still need to do 1-3 sessions with CAS now if going the public route including 1 home visit. I am heavily leaning this way though. The course was a lot better then I feared and the instructors are nice and keeping a good pace. The sexual abuse section though was hard to listen to. One more weekend and done. Was just working on the sheets that need to be completed and handed to practioner and honestly they are far worse then the course.

I remember doing the homestudy and being so nervous, then meeting the social worker it wasnt as scary as I thought. I think our nerves get the best of us. I dont think I could handle listening to the sexual abuse or neglect of the kids.
