Hi Aimeehug,
Christmas Eve I had the same scare. Went to the bathroom and looked like my period had started, no cramps. I called my Dr and he said it happens and it would resolve in an hour. Then I had some slight cramps. I went to the ER and everything was fine. Baby was there with a HB of 144 and my cervix was closed. The bleeding had stopped before they did the US. Im 7 weeks so a Transvaginal would have been better , but they didnt want to irritate my cervix anymore. It took the sonographer forever , but she got good views. Keep the faith. Im praying for everyone .

Thanks Jetsimmons, but the bleeding was not a good sign, and I'm no longer pregnant, as I mentioned later in the thread.

Hi everyone, hope you've had a wonderful holiday so far.

Aimee - so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers for love and comfort your way. Something amazing is coming your way. It's so hard to go through these difficult trials. You're so much stronger than those who haven't experienced it at all. Hugs.

Jetsimmons - so happy that the bleeding turned out to be nothing. The same thing happened to me at 8 weeks with my son and there was no reason for it either. Bleeding is the absolute worst.

AFM - we found out our first ultrasound is Jan 16th, I'll be 8 weeks on the dot. So excited. Is anyone here not finding out the gender? We've decided to be surprised for the second time. It drives people absolutely nuts. But I love not knowing. In terms of symptoms, I just get a few pinches and flutters here and there throughout the day. Boobies are definitely sore. That's about it :)

Glad your ultrasound went well. Enjoy your pregnancy 😊

AFM im nauseous all the time. Sleep is the only thing that calms my stomach down. Im very sensitive to smell. I cant enjoy my kids because of it. I am 9 weeks today. Hopefully in a few weeks this will go away and i will feel better. I cant wait for second trimester and fingers crossed everything will go right and i can make it to second trimester.

With my son I had nausea morning until night with no vomiting from 8 to 16 weeks. I'm still at the beginning right now at 5.5 weeks. The symptoms I have right now are little cramping and twinges, lower back pain, tiredness, and painful boobies. 2.5 weeks until our ultrasound :)

I hope everyone has an amazing 2019!

I've got some questions to get to know each other a bit better :)

1) Where's everyone from? Province or area?

2) How many children would you like to have, if possible?

3) Do you have a preference with gender?

4) Does your fam/friends know about your IVF journey?

5) What are your announcement ideas?

Great idea Blue!

I live in Vancouver

Growing up I always hoped to have 3 children, but with the last few years of infertility my expectations have shifted. I would love to have 2 children but will still feel really blessed if I only have 1

No preference

Immediate family knows I'm pregnant, a handful of friends know about my IVF but only one knows that I just did a successful transfer

No concrete ideas yet but if everything works out then I will be announcing around Valentine's day, so it may be fun to do something Valentine's related

Jetimmons - I have had slight cramps on and off for the whole pregnancy. TMI but I  find they are worse if I have a full bladder or am constipated

Im from Ontario. Initially wanted 4 (when didnt know i have issues) then after over 7 years doing IVF IUI and countless FET we had a daughter and another 2.5 years latter. Each IVF i did i always got one or two blastocysts on my last IVF i got 5!!!! My second daughter was one of them tried a cycle in October didnt work. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant. I have 2 more. Now that im older i got so many but i will give them all a fair chance as if it was my very first try. I dont have a preference in gender. I love babies boys or girls the same. As for announcing, i have told prety much everyone however no one knows about our journey accept dh and i. I noticed a lot of judgment among our friends and family so we decide to be private about it.

Hi everyone!

I hope you've all been doing well :)

The nausea for me has just started this week (I'm 6.5 weeks now) a lot earlier than with my son where it began at 8-9 weeks.

Other than that things are good. Some pinches and cramping at times but that's about it.

I'll tell you a bit about myself.

1) I'm from Ontario, Canada north of Toronto

2) Before our IVF journey, I envisioned having at least 4 children, now we just play it by ear. I still have 7 embryos frozen (and 2 that were successful from the same batch) so we'll have to see. If it ended here at 2 kids, I would considered myself still very blessed.

3) No preference in gender - although it would be nice to see how each gender is. I'm happy with whatever I'm given :)

4) Everyone who I'm remotely close with knows about our journey. I even have a whole documented photo album on Facebook about our journey to get my son. I've chosen to be open and honest about it because it's changed my life in the best way possible in that I am more grateful, appreciative, and closer to God than I have ever been before this event in my life.

5) We're going to be right around the 3 month mark when it's Valentine's Day so we were thinking of dressing our son up as cupid and point an arrow to my tummy or something along those lines.

Love hearing from you girls! Hope everything's going great :)

Hey Everyone!

Kate - How did your ultrasound go? I hope the nausea is still decreasing for you.

Blue - I love the announcement idea! What a great way to incorporate your son :)

Jetimmons - How are you doing?

AFM - We had our last ultrasound at the fertility clinic and have been officially discharged. It was so amazing to see the little one looking like a little human and moving around as well. Baby is measuring on track and heart rate was 119 which seemed a little low to me but the RE wasn't concerned at all. We also just met with our midwife yesterday for our initial appointment and she was amazing :) Things are starting to feel a lot more real now!

May glad your ultrasound went well. Mine was good too. Baby is doing well hb was 170 but she said thats because baby was moving so much. Next ultrasound at 12w. My nausea is terrible. Im sick all the time. I cant be happy because of this and neither i can enjoy my kids because everything smells so bad. I wish there was some kind of soup or shampoo that had no smell lol or i wish nothing atound me to smell of anything.

Hiws everyone else doing? This thread has been so quiet.

Happy New Year everyone - I have been away from this thread for a few weeks but am getting caught up.
I am from, Ottawa Ontario Canada. I just have a question for everyone - what medication(s) are you currently taking and how long have you been advised to take them until. I have been talking with a few acquaintances in reference to IVF and most of us are all taking or took different medications and two are not taking anything. Just curious....

Kate - Great news about the ultrasound! The nausea  sounds awful, I am sorry that you going through that. Was your nausea this bad with your daughters? Hopefully now that you are approaching the end of the 1st trimester it will ease up a bit for you.

Sweetness - Hey, hope all has been going well with your pregnancy!  I am weaning off PIO shots right now. At my last appointment my RE said I could go off them completely as the progesterone from the placenta would have taken over I was 8weeks6days. She said if I felt more comfortable I could continue till 10 weeks. I've decided to go till 10 weeks and have been spacing my doses out to try and make the change more gradual but she did say that stopping cold turkey was okay too. I think every RE does this part a bit differently. I am also on prednisone 10mg which I've been on since transfer and will continue till 10weeks and then cut it to 5mg for 2 weeks and done. What meds are you on?

Sweetness i was on progesteone supppssitorries for 8 weeks and now doing hcg from positive beta to 12 weeks 1ml every third day. Im almost done with it though. Nothing else accept the prenatal vitamins which i have not been taking because the pink pill makes me more nauseous.

May thank you. Nausea is still bad but hopefully it will go away soon. I hate this feeling. I felt the same with my gilrs too

Hi everyone! Kate and May happy you got to see your little ones on the ultrasound! My first official one is this Wednesday and I'm so excited. Nausea for me has been mild but frequent. Sleeping at night is challenging because my chest is so sore so I'm tossing and turning. This week I'll be calling the OBGYN to schedule the first 'out of fertility clinic' appt. Wishing you all the best and welcome Sweetness (PS I'm on progesterone suppositories until 12 weeks I believe)!

Blue - You must be so excited for your ultrasound! That is a long wait from beta till scan. It's so interesting how everyone has similar symptoms but to varying degrees. For me the fatigue has definitely been the one to stand out most but even that seems to be getting better the last few days.

Is anyone planning on doing the prenatal screening? My husband and I are having a hard time making our minds up.

Hope everyone is having a good week!
