Hey everyone!

I just got the awesome news that we have an egg donor and will be travelling to Greece in January for our transfer! I wanted to see who else out there will be going through a transfer in Jan? I haven't had a transfer in 6 years so i'm so so ready to get there and do this again and I  cannot believe were 6 weeks away we have been talking about going to Greece for about 3 years!

I have heard several times that the average is 3 transfers before it takes, I did a fresh transfer followed by a FET 6 years ago. Do you think this will play into the rule of 3? or is it a "restart"? has anyone had a successful pregnancy with a similar gap between transfers? We are doing egg donor and our donor is only 22 so that gives me a lot of hope as well!

anyways looking forward to hearing about some of you who will be going through this at the same time!

Hello,

I will be transferring January 23. I did 4 IVFs this year and they all failed. I finally got 5 of my embryos make it to day 5 and 6 freeze. I started my birth control. I will do that for two weeks, then Lupron injections for 2 weeks, then oral meds for 2 weeks. Praying this will be our time! I dont know about the 3 time rule because I have 4 failed attempts already. This will be my fourth time transferring because I had one of those IVFs cancelled after 9 days of stims due to a progesterone spike and bleeding. I seen people have it work the first time. So you really never know.

Hi.

Fingers are crossed that I get a chance to transfer in January. My re has refered me to a hematoligist as I did immunity testing after 2 miscarriages this year with one test coming back abnormal. Hoping seeing her will be able to help.

As for rule of three I am iffy on it. Although I have not had a pregnancy go full term I did concieve on my first and second attempt. It is defintly possible. I am trying to be a smbc so in both cases I used donor sperm. In my first miscarriage I used my egg and second was a double donor. I still have 2 high quality double donor frosties. If I get the go ahead I will transfer 1 only.

Hi ladies,

Greece! That sounds exciting. I hope all goes well for you guys. Were doing a FET somewhere between January 2-5. We did one round of IVF, transfered two fresh day 3 embryos and had our beautiful baby boy. Only one of the other embryos made it to blast at day 6, so its been frozen. Im doing suprefact nasal spray now and will start estrace tomorrow in preparation for it. I have no idea about the rule of threes other than weve been given a 30% chance of success with our FET, which would be in line with that hypothesis. But everyone is different, some people get it on the first transfer and some have done 11 transfer with nothing. I think it just plays into the overall statistics.

Hi everyone,

I'm doing my second round of IVF with donor sperm in January. I did my first round last December and did three FET's (no fresh transfer d/t OHSS). I had one successful FET out of three that ended in miscarriage at 9 wks. I am doing a different protocol this time to hopefully get less eggs overall (they got 40 last time and 7 made it to Day 5-6) but maybe better quality eggs. I start OCP's and androgel today and will hopefully have a retrieval around Jan 21st. I am turning 42 in March so if this round (and subsequent FET's) doesn't work, I'll be headed to Spain for either a double donor or donor embryo. Good luck to everyone!

Hello, I should be transferring in January.  I had my first ever cycle in November and got 8 embroyos frozen out of that.  I had a hysteroscopy in November and I am still waiting for AF. It's almost 10 days late.  Im going to the clinic tomorrow to try to find out why and probably get Provera.  I can hardly wait to transfer it will be my first one!

Hey Ladies!

I'm jumping into this group.

I'm 43 (I know right?) and I had one retrieval done in the spring where we ended up with one PGS normal embryo. So I literally have one egg in my basket.

I was going to transfer in Dec but it got cancelled as my clinic's embryology lab is closing for upgrades so I'm not in the Jan crew! Here's to new year's babies.

I will be doing a natural cycle and my period should be coming on Jan 2/3 so I'm guessing transfer will be week of Jan 21.

Looking forward to updates from all of you!

I just had my day 3 monitoring. Im super nervous the doctor was not in so I just had an ultrasound and blood work. Anyways my lead follicle was 4cm ( which I think means its a cyst). I had my ivf cycle egg retrieval November 9, so I would think cysts would be gone. I dont see my re until January 4. Anyone ever experience anything similar ? I just hope its normal

Esterk2002, good luck with your cycle! I have Dr Yuzpe there, although I think I've seen most of the RE's through different appts. I went back & forth about doing CCS this time, but I'm 3.5yrs older now at 41 so I'd rather know if I've got a viable embryo before transfer to lower the m/c odds.

I see dr. Tregoning. So far very happy with him.
I have never had a m/c ( i have never been pregnant! Not a single pos. test!) and of course i never want to experience that, so, we decided that if we are already doing the ivf let’s pay the money and maximize our chances. And our age also: 39 and 50
I have been on menopur and letrozole before( for IUI)Didn’t have any side effects. Karmapawz- how is estrace?

Hello all! Just chiming in here - I have been priming this December, with stimulation to begin in early January, and then the retrieval sometime mid-January. This will be my fifth round. I never thought it would come to this, but after the last cycle we found a protocol that seemed to "work" (still no pregnancy) so we're doing another stimulation in the hope of getting a few more embryos. I have 2 frozen currently, but I am getting old, so wanted to maximize my chances by giving it another go.

Hi again - I have been doing "prep" for the last two weeks and it's been miserable. I'm on a different protocol (even though they retrieved 40 eggs last year and I had 7 embryos to freeze at the end of it, only one out of the 6 that survived thawing took and it resulted in a miscarriage at 9 wks) and it's made me so, so moody. Fun Christmas :-) This time we are doing androgel with OCP's and high dose CoQ10 in an effort to produce better quality embryos in case that was the issue. We are also hoping I can do a fresh transfer this time. I am 41 and though I have a ton of eggs, they are probably not all awesome. My RE recommended CCS this time around but I couldn't spring for the extra $6000 right now and have mixed feeling about it after doing my own research so I decided to go ahead with it rather than delaying another few months. I have a baseline ultrasound on Jan 3rd and will hopefully start stimming on the 9th. Best of luck to all of you!

Esterk 2002 - I am not sure what it is called exactly, but it involves priming for one month with Estrace and Androgel (2 weeks) and then adding Prometrium into the mix weeks 2-4 also. For stimulation, I did Gonal-F and Luveris, adding Saizen for egg quality. I seem to produce eggs, but the quality is crap. As you can see from my signature, my 4th stimulation produced 4 blastocysts, whereas my first (over a year earlier) produced one.

Honestly, despite the early miscarriage last round (terrible and sad), I was ultimately very, very happy with the "big picture" results. Mr RE says that it's a numbers game. If I can produce a couple more embryos, eventually one of them (please) will be euploid!?

Best of luck to you!

Esterk2002, I've never noticed much for side effects when I've been on estrace but the main one I've heard of is headaches.

melissa87, that does seem like a lot of estrogen. The most I was on for my FET was 2mg three times a day. Do you have lining issues at all? That might be why they increased it, to try & build it if that's been an issue in the past. Hopefully they have an answer for you.

I dont think so my day 3 lining was 7 mm but Ill be able to call and ask in s few days. This is my first fet so I just am totally lost to whats normal.
