Hi I have a question if you guys can help me out. very new to the forum. i am 31 years old and had double ectopic pregnancies for which i underwent tube removals. Now IVF is the only option for me. I am going to Astra fertility clinic and they seem to be nice. The only thing bothering me is they have prescribed thyroid meds for me and have consistently kept increasing my dose from 0.25 to 0.75. Whenever i check with my family doctor she keeps saying my thyroid is normal that is between 2to 3 and occasionally 4 or 5. I am perplexed as to should i start the thyroid meds or no?
Going to start IVF soon!! 🙏💖

I am not at Astra but at the beginning of my fertility journey I was also put on Thyroid medication when my levels were in the "normal" range.

There has been some studies that show that if your TSH (I believe) is under 2 (I believe) that is ideal for pregnancy.

I am just going off what I remember so someone correct me if I am wrong on any of the values I listed.  But I do know this is quite common to help with achieving a pregnancy.

If your levels stay in the normal range then you wouldn't need to be on it once you are:

A) pregnant
Or B) not wanting to be pregnant ( hopefully having completed your family)

I think your fertility doctor is just trying to give you a better chance at the moment.
