MrsCann~ I'm doing well thanks. Anxious to get my results tomorrow. Had very mild cramping today but it was very mild and only lasted a few minutes so I'm trying not to panic and stay calm. I am so nervous as tomorrow is the same time i started bleeding last time so everything is making my nervous. Just trying to take one day at a time.

I'm surprised you had an ultrasound at 5w, my clinic wouldn't let me do an us until I was at least 6w and that was even when I was bleeding.

JIC- youre in my thoughts. I hope you are able to find some answers and get a good plan for the next one! Keep us posted.

MrsCann- sounds like everything is on the right track. Sending good vibes your way!

Returnable- awesome news! I know, it just doesnt seem real, does it?

Coicemom2be- how are you doing? Good luck with your beta tomorrow!

AFM Im officially pregnant! My beta from Monday was 78.83, todays was 203.5. So everything is looking good. I agree returnable, it doesnt feel real. Its so early and throughout the whole process you track numbers and observe symptoms, why would it be different now? Im so nervous to get excited. This is my first transfer and it seems like no ones first transfer sticks. Im afraid to jinx it.

MrsCann~ what did your clinic say? I know of several people who had slow rising beta and everything worked out. Will you be doing another beta in a few days? Stay strong.

Crideout~ congratulations on a great beta!

Afm~ it's just after 4am and I'm wide awake. I woke up to pee and now cant get back to sleep because im so anxious about my beta tomorrow. I know the real test is what the results say 2 days later but I cant help the nerves.

choicemom2be - I had cramping most days up until about the 6th week. Cramping can just be a part of the process. If you think about it, space is being made and your uterus is developing to sustain a pregnancy. That's a lot of stuff happening. I also have had trouble sleeping especially before any kind of test.

MrsCann - there are women out there who have slowly increasing hCGs and still have a healthy pregnancy. I know you want to see good numbers so this doesn't really bring comfort, but just know that not all hope is lost yest.

crideout - those a great numbers! There are lots of women who get a healthy pregnancy from the first transfer. It took me over a year to get to this first transfer, and I got a positive. Of course we are still not out of the woodwork, but the fact that your embryo has implanted and is developing is a great big step.

AFM - food aversions are starting and the nausea is worse today. Tomorrow I get to see a new nephrologist who specializes is pregnancy so I'll see if she can also recommend an OB for when the time comes.

Crideout- it can happen on first try. My nephew is 17 and he was my sisters first attempt with a 3 day fresh transfer. Its getting passed the initial what is causing the issue. So happy for you.

Returnable - sorry about the nausea. What are your bad smells? Last time I could not take the smell of raw chicken. To this day I cringe at the thought of the smell.

MrsCann. If you clinic is happy with numbers going up try not to be concerned. Stay positive!

Choice - try to keep yourself occupied for the next couple of days. It helps for about an hour or two.

JIC I made a squash and pear soup on the weekend and just the sight of it makes me want to vomit. It's smelling sweet when something is savoury. DH and I were eating dinner and he was having a banana with it and I couldn't even eat. Super weird.

Beta was 418 (14dp5dt) but last time it was 1533 on the same day. Also on this day was when I started bleeding and I've been having spotting today. Cant help but feel it is happening again. My clinic said they thought my beta # was good so it's just wait till Saturday to see if it doubles and if the spotting stops.

Congrats Choice and Cride!!

Return- I’ve notice that sweet things are turning me off abit too, but just random things are also lol

I haven’t heard from my clinic so I’m assuming they think the number is okay, my ultrasound is on Tuesday and I’ll be only 5w6d I seem that’s still too early for a ultrasound but we will see i guess. I think it’s strange they want me to stop the endometrin when I thought normally you should be on it until 10 weeks. But my blood level has been over 50 so maybe they aren’t worried so much

Choice - I don't think you should compare one pregnancy number to another. Take it easy and try to stay positive, and I think it's absolutely normal to flip back and forth between feeling positive and feeling negative, just try not to dwell on the lows. Not that I think you can change anything, but the experience may be different.

MrsCann - there are some clinics that will check that early, though it is probably too early for a heart beat. As far as the food, I usually love food, but anything that smells strong right now just turns my stomach. It's been hard getting through dinner and I usually leave something on the plate. Yesterday the nausea was bad, but today I feel much better, so at least I'm getting a break.

Crideout - what is your next step?

Choice- Ive definitely read that you cant compare beta numbers between women or even pregnancies. The only thing that really matters is the increase- about double in 24-48 hours. Try not to stress about it... tho I know thats easier said than done.

MrsCann- I also thought you had to do the progesterone for 10-12 weeks, but as weve seen, we all have our own courses. Im thinking no news is good news but Im glad you will have your ultrasound Tuesday to hopefully give you more definitive answers.

Return- sorry to hear about your nausea. Glad youre getting a break today.

AFM I dont have another beta until next Thursday. How long did you all have between 2nd and 3rd betas?? It makes me so nervous not tracking anything for so long. Then my 1st ultrasound is scheduled for the 27th. I will be 6w2d at that point, which I think is when a heartbeat is detectable. I definitely had my first bout of real nausea yesterday while grocery shopping. Thank goodness my hubby was there and we had a list because I couldnt look at anything. Today Im super tired. Its crazy how you can wake up from 8 hours of solid sleep and feel SO tired. Ive been like a zombie all day. Lol

Crideout~ I've read that early nausea is a good sign and the worse it is the less likely you are to mc so right now I'm kinda wishing I had a little bit of nausea myself.

Crideout – only a few more days for your next beta! I had a week between my 2nd and 3rd, and then another week to my 4th. Just remember that once it gets beyond 4000, it won’t necessarily double in the 48-72 hours. I think at that point it’s to determine whether it is decreasing and hence whether you have had a miscarriage. I get you on the nausea. I usually love looking at recipes and get the Canadian Living daily emails, and one of my bad days I couldn’t even look at the pictures without feeling nauseous.

Choicemom2be – good luck with your beta today. I think I had cramping on a daily basis up to about 5 weeks.

MrsCann – how are you feeling?

AFM – I had a great appointment with my additional nephrologist. She specializes in women that want to be pregnant or are pregnant with kidney disease. I thank my lucky stars that my other nephrologist referred me to her. I met her whole team, including nurse/nurse practitioner, pharmacist and a couple of other people. They really work like a team. Without me even having to ask, I have been taken on as a patient at Sunnybrook’s high risk pregnancy, so I already have an OB that works with her. My first appointment with the group is at the end of October. I really feel like I’ll be in the best hands that I can be. After the struggles with the IVF system for the past few years, it was amazing to go to an appointment where people actually cared about me and my situation and were going to do the best they could.

I have my viability ultrasound tomorrow. I’m nervous as I’ve been getting some brown discharge, though I keep telling myself that this can be normal, and even if it isn’t, that there’s nothing I can do about it. Also about five days ago my boobs completely stopped hurting. I know everyone goes through overthinking their symptoms or lack thereof, and I’m really trying to keep thinking positive. I have heard from a few ladies who managed to have babies that that was one of their greatest regrets…that they kept worrying about everything and forgot to enjoy the experience.

choicemom what were the dates of your betas? If they were all 48 hours after each other, you're still good for the 72 hour doubling time:

choice - So based on your first beta, when I plot a doubling time of 72 hours (the blue line) and then put in your actual points in blue, you are on track.

Just came back from my ultrasound. I wasn't sure whether we would be able to see anything, but very quickly the tech said DH could even come in at the end, so I think things are okay, though she is not allowed to say anything. I think I saw a heart rate of 155, but we did see the heart fluttering.

That’s great Return.
Thinking of you Choice!
Thanks Cride hope your doing well.

AFM- ultrasound was a bust, I’m still only measuring at 5 weeks nothing there but the sac (should be 6w2days according to them, my app says 5w6d) RE said I will miscarry 95% chance she said. She did a beta again to make sure gave me some options to think about over night and I’ll hear from her tomorrow. I was feeling pretty good until today. It is weird that after the appt I started having cramps, no bleeding as of yet.
