Hi, I'm new. Longtime reader, first time poster.
I've known since birth that I have a balanced translocation.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for nearly 2 years. I spearheaded the process after 6 months of trying and we were referred to a fertility clinic. It has now been 8 medicated cycles, 2 IUIs, 1 cancelled IVF (failure to respond), 1 delayed IVF (three cysts) and now we are finally in IVF with surgery scheduled for next week.
We had 10 similar sized follicles on our assigned day 7 scan. We will be doing a day 5 biopsy (if any survive...) and PGD testing.
I'm nervous. My genetic counsellor is preparing me with the idea of having to do this more than once. I'm under 35. No male fertility issues. AMH levels are good.
Has anyone successfully been in a similar situation?
