Rayna2018- glad your u/s went well too. I'm sure it's a huge relief!

EmIVF- Welcome! Your beta is really high! That's gotta be a great sign though. Maybe you're having twins too! How many did you transfer?

Afm- my DH is going out of town for work for 4 days and I have to do my own PIO injections. I'm super nervous about it bc it's so hard to do it on yourself.

27th Dec is my birthday and my mum's! Lol

Remb though only 5% of babies are due on birth date. One perk is about 3 days of presents lol.

It could be twins with that number. Mine was 438 at 11dp then 21dp was 17,455! I had a private scan Sunday and showed twins. Have my official one at my clinic this Friday.

Mamasita204 - good luck with the injections! That wouldn't be fun to do to yourself just because of the awkward position.

Hi ladies, so nice to see so many familiar names on here!! I finally had my beta this morning and just got my results, positive at 1595!! They gave me a tentative due date of December 26th and I'm booked for an 8 week ultrasound on May 16th! It still hasn't sunk in yet but I'm very cautiously excited. We haven't told a soul yet, no one even knows we did the FET or that we were trying again. I think if everything looks good at the 8 week ultrasound we'll tell parents and siblings, but wait until after 12 weeks for friends and coworkers.

As for symptoms, I haven't really had much. A couple days I felt exhausted and had mild cramping/heavy feeling in my uterus, but no nausea or tender breasts or anything else. I wish I could have another beta to check doubling time, it's going to be a long 3 weeks until the ultrasound!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day and feeling great!

Mamasita - I had both the first and second trimester prenatal screening done with my last pregnancy. The first trimester screening included bloodwork and an ultrasound where they measured nuchal translucency, and the second trimester screening was just bloodwork. They wait until both sets of tests are back and then give you results, telling you the risk your baby will have certain birth defects or chromosomal abnormalities. When I got my results, the doctor was confident that the risks were low and explained all about the Harmony test and amniocentesis. He let us make our own decision, but didn't feel that they were necessary to pursue based on our results. If our results showed a higher risk it probably would have been a different conversation.

You could get a private one? I did and really settled my stress levels.

I see u had ohss as well. I suffered last year with it. Was the most pain I have ever experienced !

Where did you get a private beta done? I don't know if they do that around here, but I totally would!

OHSS was awful for sure. I was in the hospital for a week, had to have the fluid drained off my abdomen and had 7 albumin transfusions. Definitely not something I wish on anyone.

You see my hospital had no idea what to do! My ovaries were so big they couldn't tell them apart. It was worth it though for my bfp.

I'm based in UK. I used a website called medi checks cost me £49 and u just post it back. Got results within 2 days

I was going to say, it looks like you're in UK Nicky, so fun joining us Canadians tongue.png Or are you a Canadian living in UK? I notice your spelling of "mum" so that makes me think you're born and raised UK, however I was surprised you used lbs instead of stone haha. I love Britain so I'm fascinated!

And whoops, sorry about the birthday comment! hahah well I just have a special DD then! You'll have to tell me all about it so I know how to handle this little one's birthday smile.png

Oh and also, if history repeats itself, it will be Dec 27 or 28 because I went into labour on both of my baby's due dates!

Mamasita and nicky - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't say that lol. I transferred one blast. That's all I can handle!

My US is May 10th, can't wait.

Oh and our family and friends have known since we started the cycle, I'm very open about IVF since our first. Too many years of painful secrets. We'll be announcing it publicly on mother's day probably if the US looks good.

Nicky - That's really neat, I wonder if there are any places in Canada that do that. Peace of mind is definitely worth the money! And yes the pain and suffering of OHSS was totally worth it, I'd gladly go through it again for another BFP!

EmIVF - The upside to telling people is having the support while you're going through this! We kept our IVF cycle very private and for this FET I wasn't sure if we were going to tell family or not, but we decided we'd probably handle the outcome better either way if we waited to share. Mother's day would be a great day to announce smile.png

I did call and make an appt with my family doctor for next week. Since my clinic is out of province and I don't see my family doctor unless I need to, he wasn't aware that we were doing this FET and all he knows is that I had a positive HPT. The receptionist said he'll do a urine test and then give me a requisition for bloodwork, so I'll have a second beta done!

Well like clockwork...here comes the bleeding. Seriously how many of us have bled? I literally knew this was coming, I wasn't even surprised when I looked in my underwear and saw red.
However I'm only 5 weeks and it turns out I forgot my afternoon progesterone dose so I'm thinking this is my fault. *idiot*
It's not gushing but it's bright red and I passed one medium size clot. I'm cramping mildly...we'll see what happens by the morning I guess. Lame.

I would set an alarm on your phone.
I have 6 alarms set for my big meds.
Keep on top of progesterone and it should stop.
Also lots of ladies bleed during pregnancy most with clots.
My sister in law at 8 weeks had a big bleed and thought it was all over she's now 23 weeks

Is anyone doing acupuncture for the first trimester?

My acupuncturist said it can help prevent m/c. I haven't seen him since before transferring- actually I needed to use different acupuncturists for pre/post transfer since I cycled in a different province.

EmIVF - I'm sorry you're dealing with bleeding, I really hope it stops and that everything will be okay! Will your clinic do an earlier ultrasound now? And don't beat yourself up about forgetting one dose, it's a lot to remember when your days are already busy. I got myself a Fitbit and set silent (vibrating) alarms to remind me throughout the day. I knew I'd forget otherwise and this way no one but me knows the alarm is going off.

Mamasita - I've actually never tried acupuncture but have always wanted to. My clinic recommends a great acupuncturist that specializes in infertility, but I don't live in the same province as my clinic. I've tried looking online and I don't think there's an acupuncturist near me specializing in infertility.. I wonder if that matters? I'd love to give it a try some time. Congrats on sharing the news with your family, they must be so excited!!

EmIVF - sorry to hear about the bleeding! Hopefully everything's back to normal today! A number of us in here have had bleeding, which is crazy.

Mamasita204 - I've never done acupuncture, but I did think about it before ET. I ended up going with a massage instead. That's great you told your family already! I bet they were happy :).

AFM: I had my first doctors appointment yesterday! It went well, lots of information and forms to look over now. I've been referred to two maternity clinics (one normal high risk clinic, and one that specializes in pregnancies with my health condition). So just waiting to hear from them. Also! I found out that my benefits plan covers the Harmony test. So now I need to look into how I book that as well. YAY!

Keiki- that's great that you were able to go through all of that with your Dr. already. I have an appt. with my GP at 10 wks to fill out paperwork and then I'm assuming will get referred to an OB. My GP did mention names of 2 that she recommends for me. Every province does things a little different I think.

Everything is fine today thankfully. It slowed in the night and was brown by morning. No more now. Not sure if it was the missed dose or a hematoma but I'm not feeling too worried since it didn't last too long. I feel like it could come back any day though. With my first I had this at 6 weeks and had an u/s to see the HB, but I'm too early this time. I just have to hope baby is ok until US in 2 weeks.

EmIVF - I'm glad the bleeding has stopped for you! The waiting game is always hard, it feels like forever until my 8 week ultrasound. Hopefully you don't experience any more bleeding!

I'm still waiting to feel pregnant.. it's so surreal that it's hard to accept at this point!

EmIVF - glad to hear that the bleeding stopped fairly quick! It's such a scare though.

eatpraylove - my pregnancy feelings/symptoms still come and go, so hang in there! I've started taking nausea medication too, so maybe that's why I'm feeling better.

AFM: I now have my first trimester ultrasound and blood work booked! Yay! I also heard from one of my two high risk maternity clinics, so I'm booked in there for my first appointment. Feels like I'm getting somewhere with this.

So I'm starting to feel my stomach is aching a bit- like hunger pain. I don't feel like I want to throw up or anything though, so... is this the start of nausea? Am I being unrealistic to hope that the whole first trimester will stay like this? 😀 (Mild stomach discomfort)
