Hi everyone,

Im excited to be starting my first ivf cycle in about a week. The whole process seems a little overwhelming but after 2 years of temping and opks this feels like were finally doing something proactive to make this a baby happen! I know that I shouldnt get my hopes up so soon but I cant wait to get started. Im 37 and hubby is 34, and in January we found out that my AMH is just over 5 and hubbys count is very low (less than 1M/ml) so we decided to get proactive and do IVF. Im wondering if anyone here has had success with ivf+icsi at PCRM in Burnaby? Id also love to hear from anyone who will be starting their cycle in the next couple of weeks! I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible and hearing about your stories!

Good luck everyone! ❤🤰🏼

Welcome Kc's_girl,

I did IVF with ICSI at PCRM in August. My hubby's count was also less than 1M/ml, and only 7% motility. We were fortunate and ended up with several embryos to freeze after our first round of IVF. We were successful on our second embryo transfer and I'm now 29 weeks pregnant :). I was happy with PCRM, I think it's a good clinic. You will probably end up meeting most of the doctors there since they work as a team. So it won't necessarily be your "main" doctor who does your ultrasounds, retrieval, transfers, etc.

Good luck and I hope your cycle goes well!

PCRM was an excellent clinic and Dr.Roberts in particular is extremely talented. I would definitely request he do the retrieval and transfer if you can. I have unexplained infertily and have 4 year old twins and a two year old daughter thanks to the amazing team at this clinic.

Wow! Thank you so much ladies, it's very encouraging to "meet" people who've been successful, especially at the clinic that I'm going to! Congratulations to both of you!

Hi there. Welcome!

I highly recommend PCRM. I did 1 fresh and 4 frozen cycles with them and they were very helpful and professional. Dr. Roberts is such a talented RE. The rest of his staff and colleagues are great as well. I tried doing 2 IUIs at Grace and Olive Clinics but switching to PCRM was the best decision I've ever made. I now have 9-month old twin boys napping as I type this comment.

It'll be easier to find others on the same boat if you join the cycle buddies thread. There are lots of amazing and kind people here who'd provide you with support and information if you ask them.

I wish you all the best. Here's a few things I learned after 5 years of infertility: Please always be assertive and don't hesitate to ask questions and clarifications during the process. Always advocate for yourself and be patient with yourself, partner, and the staff. You'll always get more support if you communicate with a clear head. Most importantly, self-care!

All the best!

Who stole ambushed my stork?  So many failed cycles with nothing to show but bills, receipts, and empty bottles of medications/herbs/supplements. See my profile for details...

UPDATE: I'm counting the days and hours waiting for this miracle to unfold. Christina Perri's A Thousand Years pretty much sums up my experience.

Thank you Lumnay, and congratulations on your little bundles! I have joined the April cycle buddies forum and I've found a couple of ladies on there are also cycling at PCRM!

Thank you for the advise I will try to keep it in mind!
