Hi all,
I'm just trying to get a sense of what to expect. I did a 5 day transfer March 2, got a positive HPT March 7. My first 2 betas, March 11 and march 13 were 204 and 388, which the clinic was very happy with.
On March 19 I was diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and put on bloodthinners. That day (which would have been 17 dpt) my beta was 5536.
3 days later, on March 22, my beta was 7835. I freaked out, assumed the worst, etc etc because it hadn't doubled. When I called the clinic, they told me that after about 5000-6000 the beta slows down and isn't always reliable. The nurse sounded perfectly optimistic that everything would be okay, even though it only went up 40% in about 72 hours. Online some people seem to say that bloodthinners can also skew your hcg results, but I can't find any actual scientific proof, just people saying they've "heard" this.
I go for my first ultrasound in 2 days, which would be 6w3d. Just wondering if any of you can shed any light on this. I asked in a FB forum and everyone was like it's fine, no problem... but it just seems super weird to me. I want to prepare myself.
Thanks <3
