Good luck CanadaMommy2. Please keep us posted and let us know how it goes tomorrow. The waiting is so hard. Praying that the ultrasound gives you good results tomorrow.

Thanks KandS12! I did not do the NIPT in the end. But the first trimester blood screen that the High risk birth unit does is pretty similar. So... while I don't yet know gender :( I can be pretty confident everything is ok so far.

How is everyone feeling? I am not as tired and feel much 'fresher' if that make sense. I do have heartburn 3 or 4 times a day but otherwise feel pretty good. One question I have -  is anyone else having achey or sore hips/joints? It tends to flare up when I am in bed sleeping... trying to sleep on my left for the baby but I wake up with a left hip in a lot of pain. I have tried pillows between my knees and all the way to my ankles and it does not seem to help. It is annoying ... not crippling or anything but I would like to stop it and sleep soundly.

CanadaMommy2: How is today going? Long wait at the hospital? How is your toddler fairing with the day? I hope you are ok. And are hearing some relieving news.

CanadaMommy - good luck today! Hoping you can put all of your worries to rest so that you can start enjoying your pregnancy.

AKO - awesome news! Yes, also having trouble getting a good night's rest due to lower back pain. I don't have any advice, unfortunately. I did have a pregnancy pillow with my first pregnancy and remember it helping alleviate pressure in certain areas, but placing pillows as props will probably work the same.

AFM, I had my anatomy scan last week and was very happy that everything checked out perfectly. We also got ultrasound confirmation that we are in fact expecting a little girl. I have to have another scan at 24 & 32 weeks due to some complications that I'm having (pregnancy-induced thyroid issues causing heart palpitations). I also found out that I have an anterior placenta, which is the reason why I haven't felt alot of movement yet. Overall, I feel pretty good - I have a lot of energy and often times forget that I'm even pregnant except that my baby bump has become extremely prominent and noticeable now; how about you ladies? Hope everyone is doing well!

We got reallt bad news today. Cystic hygroma has grown to 11mm. She only has 3 heart chambers and they found some spot on her brain. I had aminocenthesis done today and will have echocardiogram on either wednesday or thursday. Baby has less than 5%chances to live. My heart is breaking into million pieces. There is no word to describ how I feel right now. Im starting to feel her movement now too, everytime I feel her it makes me sad. It keeps reminding me how sick she is. We might be able to hold our little girl in our arms this August. I really hope everyone the best. We are really lucky that we have a healthy 2.4 years old boy with us. He handle today so well. He was with us the whole 6 hours without napping or crying at all. I am so proud of him.

Thank you so much everyone.
After the meeting with the specialist at sickkids hospital and had her echocardiogram done today, she got diagnosed with Hypoplastic right heart. (Missing 1 heart chamber (not forming and not working) if I carry her to term she will need open heart surgeries since first week of her life and probably lots more throught out her life time including heart transplant. Cystic hygroma is also still there so the white spot on her brains. We have come to term of letting her go. My heart is breaking into pieces and will take me a while to put them all back again. We did what we think it’s best for our little girl. I dont have want to give birth to her and for her ti suffer with her heart issue and maybe brain issue for the rest of her lift. I really really really hope that someday she will cross the rainbow bridge and be with us again. I wish you all ladies the best for everything. It’s been a pleasure to get to know you all and share all the experiences with you. You are all strong and awesome mama I know.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words. So my baby got diagnosed with Cystic Hygroma of 11mm at her neck+hydrop (fluid in her heart), 2 white dots on the brain, and Hypoplastic right beart syndrome (no working right heart chamber) so we decided to terminate her for medical reason. I dont think I can handle seeing her having to have a heart surgeries for the rest of her life and risking to losing her every surgeries she’s going through. We did whay we think is best as a parents. The procedure will take place next thrusday at Mount sainai hospital in Toronto. It’s going to break me I am sure of it but it’s ok. I’ll try to be strong as much as I can for my husband and my 2 years old toddler. We’ll try again someday. We will meet our rainbow baby again someday. Thank you so much for being here for me. It’s been such an honored that I get to share my experience eith you all. May god bless you and your babies!!
