We have decided to proceed with applying for a public and/or intercountry adoption through Child and Family services in Manitoba.  If you used CFS Manitoba as your agency looking for an infant/toddler how long did it take you? I'm anticipating at least a couple of years, but I'd like to hear about some experiences.

We too have started the adoption process through CFS manitoba to adopt a toddler our application was approved in April 2017...we are still waiting to get into the education seminar (they told me probably fall 2018 at the earliest) I spoke to 1 women who adopted sibling toddlers and she said it was 3 years from application to getting the children!

We’ve moved on from Manitoba CFS program as the political environment isn’t condusive to non-aboriginal couples. Fostering to adopt was to be faster but even that seems to have slowed down. I wish you luck but we’ve moved on to Lithuania through adoption options and Loving Heart Int”l adoption agency in Toronto. Expensive but for us waiting 4 years was enough. Time was ticking. Should know something in next few months, after applying in Jan, paperwork in by July and close to hearing of a match. Good luck.

I agree that the process does seem to be much longer if you are not aboriginal.  Three years was along the timelines I was thinking of...

It's quite a long process. Thanks for the info!
