Hi Nire!

Sorry that you didn't yet get BFP, but I am sure it will happen! I am still working on mine too. :) I will keep my fingers crossed for you! After the last IUI, if it doesn't succeed, we will ask to transfer to Dr. Rowe. I heard lots of praise about him. My current RE is Dr. Cheung whom I find him a bit too casual. I think he doesn't take me seriously, 'cause I've been doing IUIs.

We are doing our last, 6th IUI this month. I am going to the clinic tomorrow morning for U/S to get OK for clomid.

Hi maya,
yes.. i think one could say you have given IUI a fair shake and now its time to 'anti-up' so to speak.
I have never had Dr cheung in any of my dealings with the clinic.
Dr Rowe also takes a non-chalent approach which i liked at first. It seemed to reassure me that 'it' would happen soon as he said. Well, three cycles and now we need to be AGGRESSIVE :)
Let's keep in touch, i'm there on June 20 to see him and then likely the FET for my last blast transfer.
Let's say THIS IS IT for us, OUR TURN :)

Hey Nire,

We meant to do an IVF, but...I am a coward. I am scared to go to the dentist and now IVF...boo. So, I asked of other options, and Dr.Cheung suggested that we try 3 more medicated IUIs "to save money". You are very brave - you went straight for IVF.

I had a successful u/s scan this morning. This IUI cycle will proceed as planned. It seems that everyone goes for blood tests on 4th floor first, then for u/s. I don't need a blood test, so I can get ahead of the line. After I left the room, there were several people waiting and it felt really crowded. I went to work afterwards - I walked into my office at 9am, right on time!

Sure, let's keep in touch! AF came on the 1st this month, which makes it easy to count cycle days, good girl. :D I will likely have IUIs around CD 14.

Sending you lots of baby dust,

Maya

Maya,
i'm not brave at all! I ended up getting rolled to ivf in less then 24 hours as i had TOO MANY eggs and they gave me the choice of cancelling the cycle or doing ivf; no iui. I spent all that time and money and energy growing the darn eggs, i could hardly give them up at that point. I went into ivf totally blinded :) Crazy stuff this infertility!
I got AF today so i'll start cycling next AF

Kellyanne,
Welcome to our UBC forum! GOod luck on loosing the weight. After all my BFN's... i went Right back to the gym! Gotta get the pain and frustration out somewhere. All the best to you. Maybe check into 'body for life'? That's one program i enjoyed doing!

Take care ubc'ers:)

Kellyanne: welcome!! I hope you will find lots of support here. Best of luck with your weight loss program.

Nire:
I also hit the gym after BFNs. I should do it more often. Body for Life is a great book. I love pictures "before" and "after", especially of a girl in a wheelchair. If she could transform her body, anyone can. This month I've been training my arms and shoulders, the weakest part of me, and on weekend I could open the new apple sauce jar myself! Normally, I'd ask DH. :)

Your decision to pursue IVF was the right one, and being "IVF-unprepared" has its advantages. I have an active imagination, so the less I know of medical stuff, the better. :)

It's three more days of clomid for me. I have a very hectic week and I almost forgot to take today's dose.

Cheers UBCers, ( -- it rhymes lol )

hey girls!

Well I had my appt this morning and it actually went great! I lost 26 pounds in total. The doctor I've been dealing with said that Dr.Rowe is cut and dry, and probably will not let me move forward till I lose another 30lbs. (I started at 230) So she has referred me to Dr.Cheung. She says that he is really great with women who have PCOS, and she gave me a heads up about him. She said he's a scatter brain, but good at his job. I don't care as long as the end result is a baby.

I do however have to repeat my HSG since my last one was from 6 years ago. ick. Plus I have lots of blood testing that needs to be done.

Next appt is August 14th. I am thinking of calling in and rescheduling it for the end of July :) I am HOPING that Dr.Cheung will get right on it and have me start asap.

Hi Kellyanne!

It's great to hear that your appointment went so well. I can certainly confirm that Dr.Cheung has a scatter mind, very scatter sometimes. He is my RE. :)

Best of luck with your cycle!
