I had to do my last hCG shot in the restaurant bathroom, we had planned the night out with friends weeks prior and you never know when you're gonna surge so there I was...
I could stick myself with the Puregon pen all day (I would look like a pin cushion and it would be pretty silly, but it wouldn't hurt) -- but the Ovidrel is a bigger needle and more intimidating -- looks like you are actually shooting up with that syringe!
Standing in the bathroom stall, hoping no one else would come in to the room and wonder what I was up to in there -- I jabbed myself with the needle and it didn't penetrate my skin, so I thought "uh, oh" and pushed it harder so it would go in. Blech. Then when I was trying to remove it, the darn thing didn't want to come out -- my skin was pulled into a little teepee with the needle at the top. It actually made me laugh.
I cleaned myself up (thank goodness I remembered the plastic bio hazard zip lock bag), and rejoined my friends.

Hi,
I would say the ladies bathroom at my work. I had so many injections to do and I had to do a lupron shot. Unfortunately I forgot the vial of lupron in the bathroom, went home that night and then I had a thought about where the heck I left my lupron. Well DH and I marched back to my office at about 9:00 pm that night and asked the cleaners if they'd seen a vial of lupron. You can imagine the looks on the cleaning ladies faces when I told them what it was for!
We found the lupron vial and I hurried it home and put it in the fridge where it belonged.

Oh my gosh, I just had a little laugh about your Ovidrel experience. I had to take mine at my sister-in-law's in their bathroom and I could not get that darn needle in. I must have pushed and pushed and it was determined not to do anything. After almost panicking it did eventually go in but then I'll be damned if I could get the thing out. I had the little skin teepee too!!! Was I ever glad that was the last needle that I have to give myself for a while.

I did my first injections today....at my husband's work with him standing over me watching. It must have been weird because we never close the office door but suddenly we were being all secretive with the door closed. Then all of a sudden one of our workers busts in and he's got this "Uh oh! What the hell did I just walk in on?" look on his face! Too priceless. But we're very open about things and I'd have been happy to tell him that I was shooting up for IVF. He just kept on with what he was saying and left though. LOL

One time I gave myself a Puregon injection in the passenger seat of a moving car on our way to a Korean BBQ restaurant. We'd been at a friends house and I didn't want to take my purse with me into the bathroom, so the car had to do!!!!!
Just a few weeks ago, I was a bridesmaid and needed my Lupron at 6pm and it needs to stay refrigerated....so my mom drew up the drug at home, my husband smuggled it into the reception hall and we snuck off together so I could scouch up the leg of my 'Spanks' and jab it in my thigh....I'm talking seconds before the whole bridal party did the 'Grand March' into the party!!!
I swear my whole stress abou the wedding was how I was going to do this injection!!!!!!
