I have been TTC for 2 years and still nothing.

I have recently read about some women who have a very active immune system and that their bodies have been rejecting and 'killing' any foreign body include sperm etc.

I am almost never ill and believe I have a very strong immune system, but now maybe it is too strong..

I have a slightly overactive thyroid and high cortisol in my last blood test.

I have read differing information on the benefits of astragalus root and ginseng.

I believe both can help regulate the body's immune system but have also read (with astragals ) that it is also an immune booster, something which i do not want.

I wonder if you can give me advice on a herbal remedy which will help me regulate my immune system.

Thank you

Have you seen a naturopath?  They may be able to provide insight.

I know thyroid play's a huge roll in fertility.  Have you had your prolactin checked because I do believe that there is a thyroid, cortisol, pituitary gland interaction.

I am the opposite of you - I have had low thyroid - but found out that due to my prolactin levels - I wasn't ovulating every month.

Have you heard of NK cells - check out the FB page autoimmune disease and miscarriage - tons of info on many scenarios!

Best of luck in finding your answers!

Your body's ability to self regulate (immune system) is important for implantation and to prevent rejection of the embryo.

Immune fertility is complex and I suggest seeing your local acupuncturist and naturopath.  Advising on supplements is individualized and beyond the scope of this forum.  The good news in both TCM and naturopathy can provide support, especially when the thyroid is involved.

Acubalance in Vancouver has an active blog and there are some excellent related articles that may be of help.
