Hi ladies,

Looks like these posts aren't so recent anymore...Is there anyone else out there who is trying to have a baby on their own using donor sperm? I am starting the process soon so I would love to meet others who are doing the same thing (or who have been successful at it already) 😊

I have a friend IRL that did. Mom is 46 and her daughter is about 6 months old now. And friends who are gay and used donor sperm and now have amazing 4 year old twins.

Wishing you much success in this journey.

Hi all. I am single trying to have a baby on my own.  I waited for Mr. Right to come he never showed up and I could not give up on becoming a mom, if it is one thing that I dream of is to be a mom.

This road has been difficult and challenging with obstacles but we must never lose sight of the end result.  If this IVF does not work I am going full force with egg donor.

Hi JIC, hope you will hear some good news soon about your er! I was supposed to have mine soon too but now it's been delayed because they found a small estrogen producing cyst :(

Hi Patty1, it's so nice to meet other ladies who aren't afraid of pursuing baby dreams on their own! It's a very empowering feeling to be able to do this without a partner. Yes it is not an easy road for sure though...but like you I'm planning on giving it my all. Wishing you all the very best on this journey :)

Hi JIC,

Glad to hear that your ER went well. Mine was a bit difficult as my ovaries are high up but I ended up with two embryos. I will have my transfer in Jan. Good luck with yours and let us know how it goes! :)

I am 38 doing this on my own. I thought my only road block would be not having a guy but I'm now realizing that infertility is also an issue. I've had 4 failed iui's and 1 failed fet with PGS tested embryo. I only have 2 left so I will be doing ERA testing before going ahead with another fet.

Hey choicemom2be. I am currently considering trying with donor egg/embryo. Recently had my WTF appointment with my RE and she agreed that in my situation it is egg quality that is my issue.
If I can come up with the funds I will continue my journey in that direction. I want to try again as soon as possible so if all goes well may/june I will start the process

I went on the government funding list so that has alleviated the monetary concern for me. I was told the wait list at my clinic was over a year but I got in in 7mnths.

Wish the funding did 2 tries instead of 1. But I guess once is better then nothing. My finded round was suppose to be a 6 mobth wait but ended up only being 2. Seems to happen a lot which is a good thing. Fingers crossed for you

I totally agree. I did a survey about the government funding and said it should be 2 rounds if the first was unsuccessful. Or if you don't hit a minimum of 10 embryos you should be able to do it again.

Good luck to you moving forward!

Good luck Riverhopemom5. I am starting another round now with frozen donor eggs and sperm. Just completed all paperwork on Thursday as the egg bank sent the wrong ones to me orginally and now I am just waiting for clinic to tell me the address to send donor sperm to. FET will be mid July to beginning of August depending in how next few cycles go

Hi I am just starting this process. I have my first consultation meeting in the first week of September. I am older 43 and doing it on my own. Nice to see some other ladies in similar situations.
