Me and you and a dog named Boo (that vomits)

A few years ago we adopted a hurricane katrina rescue dog. Since then we discovered that he has a very rare and expensive skin condition. We spend hundreds of dollars a month to medicate him and it only makes him about 70% better.
One major side effect of his meds/condition is that he VOMITS all over the place. Without any warning. He will be sleeping peacefully one second and vomitting the next. It is ruining my carpets and I am constantly running out of paper towels. It is a huge inconvienience but he is soooooooooooo cute that I just put up with all the vomit. He's lucky he has that adorable face even if it does have vomit coming out of it most of the time.

I hope you can figure out what's wrong with Boo. That poor poochie -- and you too. Not fun cleaning up vomit all the time. ((HUGS))

Can he take something for the vommiting? Gravol?
I totally understand!! Our adorable lab has bone cancer - which has caused a weeping tumour on his leg - I change his pads twice a day and bath him every other day just to keep him at a good quality of life...We have a cone for him - but take it off of him whenever we are home - so we have to watch him all the time ....oh and when the tumour first opened - it leaked blood all over my whit carpets.....but we love him !!
awww michelleo :( big hugs to your poochie!
I am so glad you stick by him !! I am all about getting animals through rescue ! So many people in your situation would have taken the poor guy straight to the pound Posted Image He's lucky to have someone like you. One of my dogs had bad skin and stomach issues his whole life (hes 6 now) and has always been medicated for it. About 2 months ago we decided to give the raw food diet a try and it has worked wonders !!! Maybe give it a shot. He was going bald from scratching so much and all his fur is starting to grow back, He has never looked and felt so good.
He is sooooo lucky to have you!! I'm sure that God will bless you in other ways... :)
He's a lucky pooch to have you!

I understand... my dog became a chronic vomiter when we moved to AB. I actually had our Chinese medicine herbalist look at her and he gave her something called Friendly Digest (that you can only get through a certain kind of herbalist). She's been on it for about 5 years now and only has episodes when she's gotten into something. I'm sure they could do something for the dog's skin condition too... might be worth looking into!

michelle... have you looked at putting him onto a raw diet? Skin conditions are usually caused by an allergy to something. A simple $200 allergy test will give you an idea of what's going on & where to start. The medications we pump into our animals nowadays are doing a lot ofo collateral damage to them.

Think about how we're told to eat healthy, whole foods in order to be in the best physical shape possible & provide all the necessary nutrients to our babies... don't our pets deserve the same care & attention?

If you'd like some more information, send me a private message & I'll email you some studies that have been done. It's pretty incredible stuff!
