On the Outside Looking In

Posted by Luckypenny , 26 September 2010 · 1019 views

Last week-end I went to visit two of my University friends.  It's nice that 10 years after graduating (man it makes me old to think about that!), we still stay in touch and though we don't manage to get together often, we do make the effort to get together once or twice a year.  It was a beautiful day out, so we decided to go out for a walk to...

Infertility Changes Your Perspective

Posted by Luckypenny , 26 July 2010 · 873 views

On Friday night DH and I were lying in bed and he mentioned that the wife of someone we were friends with in highschool had been in to his family's restaurant and they are expecting a baby.  I think this is the first time that I have really heard pregnancy news since we found out our IVF cycle had worked (outside of this site.  I'm always happy wh...

The Dreaded 2ww

Posted by Luckypenny , 16 May 2010 · 1716 views

It's been quite some time since I've had a 2ww.  I remember my very first 2ww in September 2006, so certain that soon we would find out we were pg.  I was shocked when I got my period.  And the second and third were like that too.  Then I had a few months were I was less optomistic.  A few months later I got a Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor and...

Other Topic - Not IF Related

Today I was thinking about a speech that was written by my Big Sister's match's younger sister.  My match is 15 and her younger sister is 11.  Their mom is a single mom, and she manages to provide an amazing and inspired life for her family on not alot of resources, and has instilled really great values in her kids.  She goes above and beyond to p...

Is this any reason for concern?

Posted by Luckypenny , 13 May 2010 · 1962 views

I posted this on the Ask the RE forum, but I thought some of you may have feedback too.I had an embryo transfer on Monday May 10th.  My doctor transferred one embryo (Im not sure if the grading system is the same everywhere. He indicated that it was very high quality 5AB0, and said that it should be hatching a few hours after he transferred it).  I too...

Embaby on Board! The closest we have ever been to pg in 3 years and 8 months.

Posted by Luckypenny , 11 May 2010 · 2127 views

Yeserday was ET day.  I didn't realize how anxious I would be each day after ER waiting to  hear if the eggs had fertilized, if the ones that had fertilized had continued to grow properly.  Even yesterday going to pick up the embaby, we didn't really know what was waiting for us at the clinic.  I spend enough time on the internet (too much? ;) ),...

Be careful what you ask for right, haha. But yes, I am asking for your opinions my most lovely friends! On Monday I have an ET scheduled.  Then the clinic asks that you take two days of bedrest.  But not strict bedrest, you can get up and eat, etc.  But they ask that you basically take it easy for two days - lay around, watch tv/movies, read, et...

Nice Socks!

Posted by Luckypenny , 05 May 2010 · 1017 views

So, due to your overwhelming response that socks are a must during an ultrasound or procedure (, I wore really fun socks for my ER today.  Before IF I was a runner (now I just enjoy brisk daily 5km walks), and I have some pretty fun running socks.  After I was in...
