Well, I am feeling remarkably good.

Troubling to yet again visit BC Womens and still have no chance of leaving with a baby. And I'd be lying if I said today was not a tough experience. But, again, the nurses were amazing and the whole setup was planned to make it as bearable as possible. I felt so sorry for everyone else there today, some clearly going through the same experience as me and some so young and in such pain and confusion with who knows what situation behind them. I was glad that everyone seemed to be inclined to be open minded, compassionate and kind to each other.

The wait beforehand was a bit tough and stressful. The procedure itself straightforward and mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. Fentanyl is now rivaling Ativan for my drug of choice. The biggest surprise was the speedy recovery time and the huge wave of energy, almost euphoria, that swept over me almost immediately after it was done. Such a relief to have it behind me, to have a clean slate and be able to start again.

Donor eggs, we think (which brings with it its own set of questions and challenges). And renewed determination to achieve a take home baby in the year of the dragon - wouldn't that be auspicious!
