First - a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this amazing journey, and to the many of you who posted on my last entry when my fears were getting the best of me.

It turned out that I was in labor on Saturday, March 20 at 9:45 when I went in for my NST so the wait was over, and the boys were born at 4:50 and 4:52 pm later that day by c-section (result of breach presentation as expected).

Alexander was 5 lbs, 7 oz and Jacob was 4 lbs, 6 oz. Both are doing absolutely great and we were all discharged home last evening (March 22).

Both boys are breathing wonderfully, and seem very healthy. They are weak suckers with a poor latch, as was expected, so we are working very hard to try to make breast-feeding work. We have been supplementing with donor breast milk given by dropper, and I have been pumping milk every three hours and the supply is starting to come in, so we remain incredibly hopeful that this will work itself out in time. In the meantime, we are very focused on growing them a little bigger so that they have the energy to learn how to feed at the breast.

The schedule is tiring, but we are in love, and so incredibly grateful for the blessing.

Love to all,

I'm merrily blubbing at the news and photos of your lovely boys. Their weights seem pretty good after the IUGR scare, and I'm sure they will catch up quickly. I hope your can find a moment to congratulate yourself on doing an awesome job of a difficult pregnancy.

Give them lots of cuddles from their aunties!

Amazing! Congrats!

Fenugreek may be something to help with the milk supply. Also, you can do a google for Dr. Newan, he's some kind of breast feeding guru and responds to email and has great video, tutorials and literature on how to BF

Good Luck

So wonderfully adorable. Glad that all went well. I had the feeling that it all will go well. Now is the time that you need lots and lots of help. It's incredibly amazing time. I wanted to say that I am here if you needed anything. I really mean it. Any help would do at this time. I know that I felt that way when my boys were born 4 and half months ago. Lots of love to you and the boys. Congratulations to you and your hubby!Helena

Inspirational Quotes

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm ... As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
Audrey Hepburn

Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.
William Arthur Ward

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be?The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain...
Kahlil Gibran
