Dr. Kimberly Liu - Reproductive Endocrinology
Dr. Kimberly Liu is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist at the Mount Sinai Centre for Fertility and Reproductive Health. Dr. Liu completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Toronto. Prior to her fellowship, she completed her medical residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Liu obtained her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Liu also has special interest in health law and completed a Masters in Studies in Law (MSL) at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Liu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Dr. Liu is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
During her training and career, she has published research in reproductive health in numerous peer-reviewed journals. She has won research awards at local and national medical conferences.
Dr. Liuâ€™s main areas of interest are improving clinical outcomes in assisted reproductive technologies and the ethical and legal issues in reproductive health.
Dr. Tamer Said - Andrologist
Dr. Said oversees the Andrology Laboratory and Reproductive Tissue Bank at ReproMed since 2006. He graduated from Alexandria Medical School, Egypt in 1994 and received his master degree in Andrology from the University of Alexandria in 1999. He completed his four year post-graduate training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio where he worked as a Research Fellow and as a Research Associate. Dr. Said holds a doctorate degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. In 2010, the American Boad of Bioanalysis (ABB) certified him as a High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Directory (HCLD). Dr. Said is one of the few Andrologists in the world, and the first one in Canada, to hold such a prestigous designation.
He has more than ten years of experience in the field of Andrology Laboratories and Cryo-banks. Dr. Said has helped build the new Andrology Laboratory at ReproMed from the ground up as a state of the art facility. Using his unique background and expertise, he has designed the Andrology Laboratory to offer the most comprehensive services for male fertility management combined with the highest standards of quality and care. Dr. Said has an impressive history of academic achievements.
He is the recipient of a number of academic awards and research grants. He has published over 35 scientific papers and review articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored 4 book chapters, and has presented more than 70 abstracts at both national and international scientific meetings. He is a member of several professional societies, including: American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American Society of Andrology, and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society. Dr. Said is an ad hoc reviewer for several esteemed scientific journals such as: Andrologia, the Journal of Andrology, Fertility & Sterility, and Biology of Reproduction, Human Reproduction and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics.
In addition, he also serves as a Managing Editor in Frontiers of Bioscience. His research interests include apoptosis and DNA fragmentation in the male germ line, sperm selection methods and gamete cryopreservation. He worked on developing a new semen preparation method based on immuno-magnetic labeling of apoptotic sperm. He remains fully active in both basic and clinical research. Dr. Fiona McCulloch - Naturopathy
Dr. Fiona McCulloch BSc ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and is co-founder of White Lotus Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto. She is a specialist in integrative fertility care and reproductive wellness as well as womenâ€™s health. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and completed naturopathic medical school at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001. Fiona is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, and the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors. She is also a charter member of The Fertile Soul Clinical Excellence in Fertility Professionals group established by Dr. Randine Lewis.
Fiona has developed an innovative Naturopathic Fertility program specifically for IVF patients which provides support through clinically proven supplements, nutrition, and acupuncture. She is dedicated to educating patients on research in reproductive wellness so they can make empowering choices which bring balance to their health and lives.
Dr McCulloch is also a peer reviewer for Natural Standard, an international research collaborative affiliated with Harvard Medical School, which compiles evidence on integrative medicine.

Dr. Lorne Brown - TCM and Acupuncture
Dr. Lorne Brown B.Sc, CA, Dr. TCM, FABORM, CHt is the founder and clinical director of Acubalance Wellness Centre, the first Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic in British Columbia dedicated to reproductive health and fertility.
Lorne takes an integrative approach to fertility treatment using Chinese medicine to naturally enhance fertility as well as support Assisted Fertility Treatments like In Vitro Fertilization. After receiving his Dr. of Chinese Medicine at Vancouverâ€™s International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Lorne completed extensive postgraduate training in gynecology, obstetrics and reproductive medicine under notable experts in the field. He is also a Clinical hypnotherpist (CHt) and uses hypnosis for fertility to help with the Mind Body fertility Connection integrated with acupuncture and Chinese herbs.
As a sought after authority on fertility and Chinese medicine, Lorne has been featured in national publications like Macleans Magazine and The Globe and Mail and has appeared on the Bill Good Show, City TV, and CBC radio. Also a popular speaker, Lorne has presented at the 2011 Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOCG), The 2006 & 2010 Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) meeting as well as the Serono Symposia Seventeenth International Conference for Nurses and Support Personnel in Reproductive Medicine. He also presented on Integrating Western and Chinese Medicine at the 2008 Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS) annual conference, 2008 AAAOM International Conference and the 2009 Texas South West Symposium.
He is a Fellow of the American Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), is an associate member of the Infertility Awareness Association of Canada, and sits on the Quality Assurance Board of the British Columbia College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture (CTCMA). He is a member of the Fertile Souls Clinical Excellence in Fertility Professionals (CEFP). He was the first appointed â€śNatural Products Expertâ€ť to Clinical Research Ethics Board (CREB) for the University of British Columbia. Lorne lives in Vancouver with his wife and their two sons.
Sherry Levitan - Fertility Law
Sherry Levitan, B.Sc., LL.B., is a lawyer practicing in Toronto exclusively in the area of assisted reproductive technology, and has been in the field for over 20 years. She regularly acts on behalf of intended parents who are trying to achieve a pregnancy with the assistance of ovum donors, embryo donors or surrogates, and also represents donors and surrogates. Ms Levitan is also counsel to several pre-eminent Canadian infertility clinics and has been invited to testify before the federal Standing Committee of Health and to participate in workshops and other programs sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Health in developing guidelines for the practice of third party reproduction.
Ms Levitan has been quoted widely by members of the Canadian print media and is often featured as an expert in the field of assisted reproduction in television news stories, talk shows, and documentaries. She has been invited to address programs sponsored by the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada, the University of Toronto, the Infertility Network of Toronto and private conferences. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Infertility Awareness Association of Canada.

Anne-Marie (Tigerlady) - Global Moderator
Anne-Marie joined IVF.ca May 2008 after a laproscopy had confirmed her only chance for conception would be through IVF. After years of TTC, several miscarriages and 2 ectopics, she and her husband conceived their miracle little girl in 2009 with the help of the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Katalin (Babatime) - Global Moderator
Katalin (Kat) was born and raised in Hungary and moved to Canada when she was nineteen. She used alternative fertility medicine for four years prior to investigating modern science and medicine. Kat was a frequent visitor to IVF.ca while completing fertility tests. In December of 2008 she became a member of our community and has tried IUI (twice) and IVF. She is diagnosed with unexplained infertility and is planning more treatments and tests. She proudly joined our team as a Global Moderator in August 2009.
