Hi All,

Our first round of IVF just failed, so we are in the process of completing the adoption papers that have been sitting on our coffee table for the past six months.  I'm wondering if anyone has had any experiences adopting in Newfoundland? I know that the wait for an infant is quite long (~8 years now, I think?), but I'm more curious about how quickly references were checked and if anyone has been through the home study process.

Additionally, has anyone gone through the International adoption process in NL? Curious what agency you worked with and what country you adopted (or are looking to adopt from) and why!

Thanks!

Another option for international is to go directly through an adoption agency in the United States.  Canada is seen as a desirable place for children by many birth mothers.
