I hope it's okay that I start this thread.

My fiance and I are doing a freeze-all cycle with retrieval aimed for May. We go for orientation (and hysteroscopy) on March 22nd.

I'm extremely excited to finally be at this point. I've been dealing with infertility for 14 years. Did 3 IUIs in 2005, no success. Got pregnant in 2006 with the help of Pre~Seed, but it ended in emergency surgery due to an ectopic. I lost my left tube (found out in a lap last summer that my remaining tube is completely blocked). The loss caused a great strain on my marriage and my husband had a major breakdown. We separated two years later.

Today, I have an amazing partner and he is supportive of IVF to achieve our family. We are getting married in November and wanted to wait to do IVF early next year. My RE suggested we do a freeze-all cycle and transfer later as I'm approaching my mid-30's (I turn 34 in October). At our consult, we learned my fiance has zero morphology, so we will need ICSI. We were still saving to do a cycle, but my fiance just got a temporary job that covers $15K for fertility meds, so we are scraping all we have and going for it!

I'm currently taking Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal, Omega 3, 600 mg CoQ10, and 2000 IU Vitamin D.

Anyone else with me? wavey.gif

Hi NikkiMc!

My first cycle for IVF will start end of April. My ER and ET should be early May.
I'm a newbie to this process, but learning a lot from these forums.

Thanks for joining me, we can learn together! I've learned a lot about IVF over the years, but I know I'll have questions once I'm in the throws of it. Exciting and slightly overwhelming, but I'm ready.

Currently wondering what my orientation will entail since my clinic has orientation and injection lesson videos on YouTube that I had to watch. My guess is it will be figuring out protocol and timeline. Twelve more days until my appointment, anxiously awaiting!

My orientation was just sitting in a room with a video explaining the basics of IVF/ IUI Process. Most of it I already knew from my own research. Hopefully your orientation is more informative.

I'm also taking ubiquinol 600mg and prenatal vitamins as well as ASA 81mg and synthroid.

Yeah, I have to drive two hours to my clinic. At least I'm doing the hysteroscopy, makes it worth the trip. Well and there's a place that has amazing Laksa soup, I'm addicted. Haha!

I joined a yoga studio on Thursday. Went again this morning. Feels so good to take that time for myself, honour my body. Now it's time to clean house!

Hope you're having a good weekend so far!

Also doing a May ER and ET! Start stims in April but didn't get into an early April cycle. I'll take what I can get though!

We have been trying for well over a year. After ruling out PCOS and confirming none of my fibroids were a factor, they turned to looking at my S.O. First they concluded it was a motility issue, now they're unsure if it truly is after a second test so we are in the "unexplained" category. We will be doing ICSI and I'll be doing my own shots since he works out of town.

Just going stir crazy on birth control while I wait to start stims on April 21! Antagonist protocol. Looking forward to the journey with you guys :)

Csbd- we should be starting stims around the same time and I'm on antagonist protocol too. Gonal F and Luveris with cetrotide later.
2 more weeks before I start BCPs.

What is S.O?

Hey Lura- how many eggs were fertilized by ICSI and how many with regular IVF?

My Dr. Said he'd do half and half.

Welcome ladies!

Mamasita- I believe S.O. means significant other.

I had a major breakdown this morning. My fiance works up north, so he is gone for 4 weeks and then home for 2 weeks. He told me this morning that he doesn't think we'll have the money for an early May cycle like we had planned. We will have to wait until he comes back in the middle of June. I know it's only a month setback, but I was absolutely crushed. I'm on CD27 and my PMS has been ridiculous for the last few days. I'm really missing him too, so that didn't help. He comes home on Friday night, yay!

Anyways, I think I'll stick it out here and cheer you guys on. I still have my orientation on the 22nd. Looking forward to that.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Hi ladies.
I might be doing ivf in May too.

Crazy beautiful- sorry about that. Exact same situation happened to us too last month. Although all the test results were great and I was relatively young, I didn't respond as expected. So we converted to IUI which didn't work either.
Because of the injectables, my ovaries need to relax for 2 cycles before we can try ivf again with increased dose.
My doctor actually tripled my dose. Hoping for better results now.
So, it's a common thing. Don't worry. The doctors have to first learn how our bodies react to all the meds.

Wish you all best of luck.

Me: 29 30, Husband: 32 33
Dx: low morphology (1%)
DH on Nutraception & Acupuncture --> No improvement
Now started on Chinese herbs.

One month break because of cysts.

October 2016 - IUI #2
cancelled due to early ovulation

One month break for SHG

December 2016 - IUI #3
Clomid 100mg, trigger Pregnyl 5000.
3 million post-wash sperm count--> BFN

February 2017 - IVF to IUI
Antagonist protocol:
started at 150 IU Gonal-F and 75 IU Luveris, baby aspirin.
After 4 days of injections, increased Gonal-F to 300 IU.
Luveris still at 75 IU, started Cetrotide 0.25mg.
Only 4 mature follicles --> Converted to Superovulation IUI.
trigger Pregnyl 10000
3 million post-wash sperm count.
Taking baby aspirin and Prometrium.
-->BFN

Two cycles break required for the ovaries to recover.

Hello all. I think I will be in the same boat in May too. Looking to start our first IVF cycle in May, with a transfer probably happening end of May or early June. We are using a donor egg from DEB USA and we are getting government funding for this cycle. So just in a holding pattern until then. I have issues with thin uterine lining as well, so I am currently just focusing on taking care of my body to get the best outcome in May. Taking prenatal vitamins, folic acid, Omega 3, Vitamin D and Vitamin E (for thin lining) as well as acupuncture once a week to help boost blood flow to the uterus. And the usual eat right and exercise regularly. Hope it all helps! May just seems so far away right now...all this waiting really sucks.

Good luck to all in this group. Hoping for lots of positive results. crsd.gif

Hey!!

This is our first IVF cycle. I am also hoping to start in May. We have had two failed IUI's the last in Feb. I need to be drug free for two months before we start IVF. I live in NL so we have to travel. We have chosen RFP in Calgary. We are registered & had a phone consultation with the Dr. . Just waiting for the nurse to call back with the next steps. I am both scared & excited to begin this whole process

Good Luck everyone :)

So far the experience has been good. The doctors seem to be very knowledgeable. In our first attempt, although I had 4 good-size follicles, they didn't force me to continue with ivf. They explained the different options to us and how we can do better next time, and left the decision to us. I really liked that.
I was very upset in the beginning that they selected the wrong dose. But then realized that they chose it based on my test results and it's out of their control if my body doesn't respond as expected.

Hey all!

Just checking in. Eager for our orientation on Wednesday, it's getting closer. So curious what my protocol will be.

Are you all starting with birth control? If so, how long do you need to be on it?

I'm on antagonist protocol with Gonal F and Luveris with cetrotide later.

Orientation is tomorrow! So excited! Really interested to find out my protocol. I'm pretty sure I'll be on birth control, as we need to time my cycle for when my fiancé is home. He works away 4 weeks and then is home for 2 weeks.

What type of progesterone will you all be taking? PIO shots, oral, suppositories?
