Follic acid for males

My friend told me to take folic acid 5mg tablet daily and he says its good for males. Is it good for males to take that amount of folic acid daily or there are side effects ?

My husband took folic acid.  It is supposed to help.  CoQ10 and Vitamin A are also supposed to help sperm quality.

Day 1 - Sept. 9

Monitoring - Sept. 18-22

Lining Check - Sept. 22 (11.3 mm)

Transferred 5B-BB Sept. 25 - BFP!!!  HCG 890 @ 12dp5dt and Progesterone 95.
Midwife appointment Sept. 19 and first ultrasound Nov. 4
3 Frosties left

I think that folic acid is beneficial in appropriate amounts, and most male fertility vitamins will contain folic acid. 

However, the 5 mg dose is typically reserved for cases where there is a good reason to give above the typical 1 mg dose. In most people 1 mg of folic acid is sufficient.
