Hi everyone, I'd love to join you.

This is cycle #3 for me. I recognize a few names from my cycle in June 2016. That was a BFN after our one and only PGD-neg embryo didn't stick.
We just did a cycle last month and ended up with 2 day 5 embryos that we are banking to send for PGD/PGS with any we get from this round (save some $$$).
I'm doing antagonists protocol with birth control starting today and then gonal f 200 and luveris 75 starting on the 9th I believe. This is my first time on Luveris. Trying something new because my last count sucked at 11 eggs only.

Good luck everyone! I'm thinking stimmy thoughts for you.

Hi ladies! May I join you? I go for my teaching appointment tomorrow afternoon. This is my second round and they are changing my protocol quite a bit so I'm interested to see what that will look like. My estimated retrieval date is April 6th and I start stims on March 26th. They are trying to hyperstimulate me because I only have one ovary that is in an accessible spot so I might not be able to do a fresh transfer.

Hi All...

I am supposed to start IVF in April, but my period is 4 days late! I have been spotting for a few days. I have never wanted AF to come so bad!

Hopefully it comes soon so I can start treatment!

Went to meet the Dr today to sign forms. I had my long list of questions to ask.
Feeling ready to go!

I also got my injection training. My protocol calls for gonal F and Luveris to be mixed together into one cocktail = only 1 injection to start off 😊
Then adding cetrotide as an extra injection later.

I told my nurse that AF may be coming early bc of symptoms (tender breasts). She said "maybe you're pregnant and can save some money"...oh I wish but HIGHLY doubt it!

Mamasita: ER is tentatively the 19th or 20th of April. We're doing a freeze all and FET won't be til mid/end of May, if we have any healthy embryos to transfer.

Anyone with Luveris experience have anything I shouldn't know about it?

So, injection training was...a lot.  I don't think I remember anything the nurse told me.  DH feels similarly.  I feel the nurses line will be hearing from me a lot next week...

Have my dosages and they seem quite high:

0.2mL Micro-dose Lupron

450 IU Gonal-F

150 IU Luveris

Anyone else have experience with doses in this range?

Just had a day 6 bw/us. 4 follies, 2 on each side, growing as they should. However, I did get a phone call from the clinic later on asking that I increase both Menopur and Gonal-F to 150.

Hello everyone.

Excited, nervous and shy. I have never posted on a forum online before but I am reading away here and thinking what a wonderful resource.

I am starting my IVF/ ICSI cycle in early April. I live in the North so all my meds are en route to me now. I haver never met at my clinic before in person, and I am a big ball of nerves.

The reason I am doing IVF is because my husband has cancer. We are in our early thirty's and because of his treatment we had to freeze sperm in advance which we will now use. I just learned the other day that when I go south for IVF, he will have to stay up north for his ongoing cancer screening. I am totally lost right now but I don't want this train to stop after 4 years of trying. So much like our lives have felt for the last year, we will carry on and do the best we can.

I don't know how to arrange an IVF buddy on this site, I'm still exploring but I would sure love to be able to keep engaged on this forum for support. Not sure if I am sharing too much as an initial post here but its where I am at.

I start my injections next Wednesday and am wrapping up the birth control pill. Ive also just gone on synthroid to balance my thyroid. Anyone else worried about the emotional impacts of the injections? I would love to know how you will all manage through it.

All the best to you sisters on the same journey.

Hi Yukongal,

Don't ever worry about over sharing. This is a safe space and you'll find tons of support. Probably the best way to find a buddy is by messaging someone privately that you find that you especially relate to.

I was terrified of the emotional impact, and for me, quite honestly, it wasn't that bad. I found coming off the progesterone (prometrium) after my last cycle was the worst I'd experienced. The injections that I've used had little to no emotional impact, but I'm only one person.

Good luck! And safe travels!

This is my first IVF cycle as well and I think we're synced up with our drugs, etc. as I start my injections next Wednesday too!

Day 5 of injections. I have started cetrotide and maintaining the 150 menopur and gonal f dosage. Still 4 follies growing. Return to clinic on Sunday. No side effects so far. However, I am incredibly busy at work so I could potentially be distracted by that. Feeling great otherwise. Lots of EWCM but that's to be expected.

1st baby:

Nov 2014  IUI#4: 12.5mg Femara. 3 follies (2.1, 2.1 & 1.8). HCG trigger shot 250mg Ovidrel. 2.3M sperm count @77% motility. BFP (HCG 88 15 days past IUI).

Aug 2016 IUI#2: 12.5mg Femara. 3 follies (1.8, 18., 1.7). HCG trigger shot 250mg Ovidrel. 6.5M sperm count @70% motility. BFN.

Aug 2016 Natural Cycle: 1 follie (2.0) at time of LH surge. BFN.

Hi again ladies!

I'm still just waiting on AF but thought I'd check in and say hello! I'm feeling a little ambivalent about this upcoming cycle. I've been conditioned to expect failure by my experiences so far, but there's also a part of me that thinks - it HAS to finally work this time doesn't it??? So I'm definitely not feeling overly positive but not too negative either...

Hello freshview, nice to see you again :) hope you get lots of great quality embryos to bank from this round.

Jocelyne - distraction is definitely good sometimes. The two cycles where I stimulated well I didn't start really feeling my ovaries until around day 6 or 7. Best of luck on your next scan.

Yukongal - welcome!! Thanks for sharing your story. It can be really overwhelming no matter what your circumstances are, but it sounds like yours are more stressful than most. Hope we can be a good support to you. There's lots of combined knowledge on this forum, so just ask if you have any questions! xo

Notorious - those do seem like higher doses. maybe it's because you're using lupron before? it suppresses your ovaries. Exciting that you're starting next week!!

Oh also, this is totally random, but the (hopefully lots of) pregnancies from this group will be scattered between 2017 and 2018 due dates, hehe. I can't help but doing the calculation each time I start a cycle.

happy weekend girls!

@Violetta, I feel the exact same way going into this cycle! Ambivalent. Such a good word. I mean, I am excited that this time next month I could be pregnant. But I also want to be realistic and not get my hopes up too hard. It's tough, though. I am coming out of a deep depression so I'm a bit worried that throwing IVF, hormones and the possibility of another failure into the mix will ruin me. So many conflicting emotions. Taking it day by day!

AFM - still waiting so very impatiently for AF. I'm not super regular, it usually starts a day or two either direction of when my period tracker app tells me to expect it.

Daughter born - October 16, 2008

Husbands car accident - October 24, 2009 (result - paraplegia)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IVF Cycle #1
February 10th, 2014 - began Puregon 75 & Repronex 75
February 13th - was told to do Puregon 150 as I had a reaction to the Repronex and to stop injecting Repronex all together
February 14th - began to do Puregon 150 and Luveris 75
February 15th - began Oragulatran
February 18th - trigger shot
February 20th - egg retrieval, 8 eggs retrieved
February 22nd - cycle cancelled, poor quality eggs
IVF Cycle #2
May 4th, 2014- began 0.5 ml Suprefact injections
May 21st - began Gonal F 300 & Luveris 75
May 26th - u/s showing about 10-11 follicles so far. Dr. said I am responding well to the meds and everything is going as planned
May 29th - reduced Gonal F to 150 mg and stopped Suprefact injections
May 30th - 12 follies on the left ovary measuring from 12.2 to 18.4 ... 10 follies on the right measuring from 12.7 to 21 ... endo thickness 9.9
May 31st - Triggered
June 2nd - ER - 16 eggs retrieved. That's DOUBLE than last time. I hope this is a good sign!
June 3rd - clinic called, of the 16 eggs, 12 were paired with sperm but only 5 of those fertilized. They want me to come in tomorrow to possibly do a Day 2 transfer and/or talk about our options.
June 4th - transferred two four cell embryos! Left the last remaining embryo to see if it would become freezable
June 7th - got the call that our last embryo started to degress so we have nothing to freeze. Getting so impatient to POAS!
June 17th - Beta at 7. Chemical pregnancy.
IVF Cycle #3
Sept 10th, 2014 - began 0.5 ml Suprefact injections ...going to follow the same protocol as last cycle!
Sept 29th - began Gonal F 225 & Luveris 75
- endo lining - 9.9
Oct. 9th - Triggered!
Oct. 11th - ER day. 13 eggs retrieved!
Oct. 12th - Fertility report - they were able to fertilize all 13 of the eggs after requesting my hubby bring two samples to the clinic on the 11th. Both samples were poor quality but they found 13 sperm to use. Of the 13 fertilized eggs, only 3 lasted through the night. Doc suggested we do a 2 day transfer TOMORROW.
Oct. 13th - transferred 2 two-cell embryos.. Beta scheduled for Oct. 28!
Oct. 26th - POAS at home and received THREE BFP pregnancy tests!
Oct. 28th - blood test in the AM...started spotting in the early afternoon. Heartbroken and shattered. Clinic called and said beta was 56 but I'd need to go back on the 30th.
Oct. 30th - Beta levels rose to 132. Still bleeding.
Nov. 1st - 3rd beta. Still bleeding. Quite heavily now with clots. Beta is now 369.
Nov. 3rd - 4th beta. HCG # still rising. Still bleeding. No clots now
Nov. 5th - beta dropped by 500 pts. Nurses told me to stop taking my meds. It's over. Another glaring failure.
IUI Cycle #1
October 2015 - hubby begins taking supplements to help his 0 sperm count
Feb. 18, 2016 - RE is THOROUGHLY impressed with hubby's sperm count. 0 to 36 million per ml. Suggests we try conceiving at home, though we've been trying actively since August. Suggests we try an IUI instead of ICSI as well as get an HSG done just to make sure there's not another reason why I keep miscarrying.
Feb. 19 - begin Clomid 2x/day
Feb. 26 - have HSG done - tubes are clear!
Feb. 29 - have follicular ultrasound. One mature follie.
Mar. 1 - HCG shot
Mar. 3 - IUI....RE warns beforehand that the sperm is shitty quality again and they had to thaw some of the frozen straws we had stored. RE says not to get our hopes up. th_agrr.gif
Mar. 17 - AF rears her ugly head. Another BFN.
IUI Cycle #2
May 2016 - Fail
IVF Cycle #4
April 5, 2017 - begin Menopur 75 & Gonal F 150 injections
April 10 - Menopur 75, Gonal F 150 to continue. RE added Centrotide to the mix after follicular ultrasound.
April 18 - Egg Retrieval. 9 eggs retrieved.
Hi All, unfortunately they cancelled my cycle at my baseline visit yesterday. The reproductive endocrinologist wants to monitor my case and do my retrieval himself and he's on vacation for the next month. In a way I'm happy because I know I have a better chance of a positive outcome but this waiting game is tough. I'd like to stay in this group since I will be starting stims in April, retrieval scheduled for early May. I hope everyone is doing well and taking good care of themselves during this stressful time.
I got the call on Friday that the sperm function analysis of my DH came back very very very low (count and motility). I was expecting that because he is already diagnosed with male factor but not that low. Now, I'm thinking why I didn't ask about how low. like how many are alive with good shapes and motility but I was shocked and I couldn't do anything else except listening. They said there is a chance of no good sperm to inject on the ER day. I couldn't sleep last night. I feel like this time is not going to be an easy one. I try to not worry but easier said than done. Uhh
Carryon33, so sorry you have to cancel this cycle. Next month!
Lura, this is our issue as well. My husband has poor counts and motility. However, we did get pregnant wI think our first through IUI#4 if that can bring you hope!
I had my first real symptom of the menopur and/or gonal f today. Extreme food aversion. I almost threw the entire lasagna away because the ricotta cheese I had put in was very pungent. It hadn't gone bad or anything. Just writing about it makes me want to throw up. I hope to get triggered Monday or Tuesday. I still have the 4 follies growing very slowly.
Jocelyne - I totally find that gonal f suppresses my appetite. Didn't get true food aversions but I just did not feel hungry. Which is sooooo unusual for me. Hope you get to trigger soon!!
Carryon33 - sucks you have to cancel. You should definitely stay in the group though especially if you are starting stims at the end of the month.
Lura - that's so tough. I'm really hoping they just told you there was a chance of having no sperm to inject to prepare you for the worst case scenario. Even with very very low counts there should still be at least a million of those little dudes to choose the best ones from...Fingers crossed!
Well ladies...this is rough. I was told this morning that I'm not responding as well as they wanted me to and it's probably because of the low AMH. Then said that I may potentially have to freeze all as opposed to fresh ET. Yay for me. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
1st baby:
Jocelyne3573- I'm sorry to hear of your news. What is the benefit of freezing instead of doing fresh if you're not responding well? I'm also curious what your AMH is. Hoping for a better day tomorrow for you!
Lura-Sending good vibes your way!
Carryon33-It's frustrating to have to wait when you just want to get started! You're right though, it will be worth it to have the best doc in charge of your cycle.
Hi Gals - sorry I have been MIA. Have been feeling down lately. I keep getting this feeling inside that having a baby will never happen for me...and it just seems so real. Trying to get myself out of this funk...but dealing with hubby issues too right now (I think we are just both stressed out about all of this)
Hi Jocelyne - sorry to hear about the low AMH. When I had my first IVF I specificaly choose a frozen cycle (this is before I decided to do PGS) based on my research. It seems like there is a higher chance of pregnancy during frozen because there is less stress on the body. After the ER your body has time to recover and detox a bit. Just trying to see a positive in all of this :)
All other ladies - praying and wishing for the best! :)
