It's my time to pay it forward as I was just on the same boat as you 2 weeks ago.

My Numbers:

- 11 Retrieved

- 10 Fertilized

- By the following day, only 4 survived

- By day 3, 4 still surviving (great qualities)

- No update

- Day 5, transfer day, All 4 were still surviving (4AA, 3AA and 2 were left behind.

We transferred 4AA. I'm currently waiting for Beta.

We froze 3AA.

The other two didn't make it to day 6.

It's about quality, not quantity they say. Hang tight. All 7 may make it to Day 6. I know this time is quite frightening. Been there. I was shaking at my desk when i got the call. I know the feeling, it's not easy. You're not alone :)

Cycle 1:  Age 36 - 8 retrieved, 6 mature, 5 fertilized, 1 transferred, nothing to freeze.  BFN.

Cycle 2, Age 36 - 11 retrieved, 10 mature, 8 fertilized, 1 5B-AB transferred (my son), 1 5B-BB (currently pregnant with that one), 2 4B-BB on ice as well as a 3B-BB.  So ended up with 5 blasts from that cycle and, if all goes well, two sons smile.png

Age 40, DH 44 in Oct.

TTC on and off since 2007 before our second IVF, in 2014, brought us our beautiful son and our first FET brought us our second son in 2017.  Our family is complete!

IVF #1 - April 2014 - BFN - no frosties

IVF #2 - July 2014 - BFP - 5B-AB and 4 frosties (5B-BB, 2x4B-BB and 3B-BB)

Apr. 13, 2015 - Daniel Erik was born at 5:05 am, weight 8 lbs, 13 oz, and 22" long.  He is perfect in every way.

FET #1 - September 2016 - BFP - 5B-BB and 3 frosties (2x4B-BB and 3B-BB)

June 18, 2017 - Matthew William was born at 2:46 am, weight 8 lbs, 11 oz and 21" long.  He is perfect in every way too!

I had the same numbers.  13 retrieved, 9 mature, 7 fertilized, 5 made it to day 3, and 3 made it to day 5.  We transferred two and froze the last one.

TTC since December 2004

One successful IVF

Many, many unsuccessful IF treatments

Finally a successful DE cycle!  babyEver is due July 1st.

Hi New D - success story with similar numbers. 6 eggs at 37- 6 fertilized - 5 5 day blasts. 2 transferred resulted in boy girl twins, 1 transferred resulted in my daughter and I just turned 40. 2 blasts remaining on ice. It is indeed quality as my first ivf cycle at 35 resulted in 17 eggs and empty arms. Single digits can be pretty darn lucky!

Hi NewD :

I also had some similar numbers.

IVF#1 (I am 36).
I had 7 eggs at egg retrieval. I assume they were all mature? (The clinic did not say.) 6 fertilized.

On day 3, we still had 5.

On day 5, we had 4 - two were full blasts, two were early blasts. We transferred the best one, the other full blast was frozen.

On day 6, they let us know one of the early blasts had also developed into a good quality blast - so we ended up with two frozen in total.

Beta was on January 26 - we got our positive :)

I agree that sometimes, single digits are lucky!

NEWD,

I am with NewLife as well, the Brampton location. I just wanted to let you know that as stated above, it is quality not quantity that counts. I had 23 eggs and out of 23 , 15 fertilized. As of yet, I still have not been successful. So try not to focus so much on the number. Best of luck and keep me posted.

Hi 'Newd . How did you decide to pgs all off you embryos and not do any fresh. I have 6 fertilized and tmrw is my day 3. I can not decide what to do. I feel like I am just ready to do a fresh.

Hi Marh,

My E2 was high when do the IVF cycle, it is not good for transfer. Also, my doctor recommended for PGS to avoid miscarry.

So I take my doctors suggestion.

My result, 3 out of 6 is abnormal...so it is half half chance.

For me, it is worth to wait for a cycle and make sure my baby is healthy.
