Hi Ladies. I had my retrieval on Wednesday......19! I was pretty happy about that number, but I've been feeling kinda crappy ever since. The nurse suggested drinking electrolytes and increasing my protein. 48+ hours after and I'm still feeling some dull pains internally.

I got the call yesterday morning, out of the 19 retrieved, 2 were too small but 16/17 (94%) fertilized!! I was so shocked.  This is my first IVF after 2 failed IUI's and in the back of my mind I was worried that out of the 19 retrieved, 0 would fertilize.  We'll find out Saturday how many are still hanging in there because I know the number will drop. I feel like it's a good number to start with though so I'm feeling really positive.

A funny note to add, after the procedure when I was in the recovery room, my partner walks in after I'd been there about 10 mins and says "I'm so distraught."  He was actually complaining about the bad porn he was subjected to during his part of the process. LOL I was like "YOU'RE distraught?! What about what I just went through!" Sometimes men can be such wimps. giggle.gif

Today is day 4 of Gonal (300 IU), Menopur (75IU) and Letrozole (5mg).

Has anyone of you had excruciating cramps in the lower abdomen from the meds?

The pain is like I have a dagger in my belly and is being moved from one side to the other, non-stop. I even vomited and had diarrhea.

This is my 2nd IVF and I had the same reaction with the 1st one. The nurses said they never heard of anyone having reaction like that.

Tomorrow I have US and blood work so definitely I'll mention it to the nurse, but I was just wondering if anyone had similar symptoms.

Hi ladies! Glad to hear some good news for so many of you! We had to come down to Ottawa for the day today because they wanted me to do an US there so they could better review it. I have 25 follicles right now. They were worried it was too many, but for now they told me to take my medicine for the night and tomorrow morning. We have to come back to Ottawa for more BW and US tomorrow, with hopes of triggering tomorrow, but may need to change my trigger meds. May have to freeze the embryos as well, only time will tell at this point! Fingers crossed for all you ladies, xo

@maemae I had cramping on the left side and then the right side...there were a few days where it would stop and then come back again. Every time it happened and I had a scheduled ultra-sound and had either an extra follicle or egg!!! Fingers crossed that it is the same for you but it is always best to see someone.

But these cramps are not like the usual ones. These are insane!!!! I can't even walk from the couch to the washroom.

These cramps better be worth something! :) LOL!

So far I have 9 follicles, but only 2 are bigger (1.4 and 1.2 cm). They gave me orgalutran to slow them a bit and they hope the smaller ones will catch up on them.

I read women have like 16 and at least half fertilised. Me?! 2!!!!

Hey guys, sorry i haven't been on in a while! We actually got bad news, out of the 7 eggs they retrieved, 3 were mature and zero fertilized! We are trying to come to terms with everything and figure out the next step! Anyone else have this happen? Any advice please!

Hope you ladies are doing well and staying strong, i have been thinking about you all!

Bre - sorry to hear, sending all the positive vibes your way, xo.

Had my retrieval today. 27 eggs retrieved, they had to give me a second dose of pain meds between ovaries. Likely will be a freeze all cycle. We have come to accept it. The retrieval wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, just painful in spurts.

Xo

I'm sorry, Bre. I'm a complete newbie so I can't imagine how it must feel to go through all that buildup to prepare and then having no embryos to show for it. Take care of yourself.

I'm on my third day of stimulating injections. I'm headed back to the clinic tomorrow for blood work. It's frustrating only being able to plan my schedule a few days at a time not knowing when they'll want me back. It's a 2+ hour drive so it usually means a day off work.

Hilary - I hope your BW goes well today!

I got a call from the clinic. Out of our 27 eggs, 20 were mature and all 20 fertilized! The nurse was just as shocked as we were. We have had such a bumpy ride thus far, so it's great to see things turning out so well. On a side note - our doctor told us that because I had a low egg reserve that we would be lucky if we got 12 eggs to start. So we are incredibly happy - we did ICSI because of an issue with my hubby. Totally worth the extra money. I'm still in some pain and the endometrin was quite painful this morning. But nurses were happy that my weight went down a little.

Happy thoughts for all, xo

Hey everyone sorry I have been absent. I will have to catch up on what're everyone is at.

AFM - sorry I have been absent. I had an ultrasound on Saturday morning and 8 follicles were looking pretty good and around the same size and today I went for another ultrasound and it looks like I only have 4 mature follicles and the rest have to keep growing. We have decided we are converting to a super-ovulation IUI this time and keep on trying too see it we get the right # of follicles next time. I trigger tonight and then I go in on Wednesday morning and get the IUI. So I am hoping it works. It is only a 20% chance but at least it's something. It's a risk for quadruplets and for my health also but we are willing to take that risk.

Hi everyone,

My ivf has been cancelled due to low number of mature eggs- only 2. I'm poor responder

I was totally bummed, but then he suggested something.

The dr. suggested next time we try this new experimental protocol with using low dose of hcg. Apprently has been successful for women over 40.

It's also way cheaper (in sense of medications).

I even found a research he published with other TCART doctors:

http://rbej.biomedce...1477-7827-10-55

Anyone heard of this or had experience with it or knows someone that did it?

Hi ladies ....well it took me a bit to get caught up. I wanted to share my Beta result from this morning I just received a call to say it is a BFP.....I am 11dp5d''fresh''t today. My number was 212 I had to ask as I notice everyone posting there numbers. my next beta test is on Monday. I have to admit I am very surprised as I planned for the worst...I have just dreamed of this day and as exciting as it it is , I do still feel it is the waiting game for the next news on the test and will remain grateful to be in this day to day experience.

Sara - Congratualtions on your 3rd beta I look forward to hearing the good new of your ultrasound

Cat - I am sorry, thinking of you and wishing you the best moving forward

Gingermomma & waiting4  - Sticky vibes to you!!! Waiting4 , I ate pineapple core and lots of pineapple I am not sure why but I did it because I read a few other ladies doing it, I spend my first 5 days relaxing a lot and doing very little and tried to laugh as much as possible. I am also eating very healthy , very minimal sugar, wholefoods, no caffeine or alcohol at all and not lifting anything heavier than my purse ( and I cleaned it out so it would be very light lol )

willowRAYNE - how did your second beta go?

human puppy - Congratulations. Praying it is your time as well. For your 2 chemical preganacys , when did you find out they were cp ?

trying for2nd - Wow congratulations. Sorry to hear you are so sick though...I don't know what else you are able to take, possibly try calling your clinic to let them know and see what they suggest?
