I had my consult yesterday to get the ball rolling for a FET. I'll be transferring in mid-April. I'd love to share the process with anyone else doing a FET at that time.

A little about me...

DH is paraplegic so we had to use IVF/ICSI to conceive. We did a fresh cycle in March 2014, which resulted in a chemical and two frozen blasts. We later transferred one of those blasts and our daughter was born in March of 2015. We will be transferring the last blast in April. If it doesn't work then I'll be heading straight into another fresh cycle.

I am scheduled to start the IVF process this month starting with estrace, then ER in March, then ET in April so it sounds like we will be cycle buddies wavey.gif   I've never gone through IVF before, just IUI so I'm pretty nervous!

ENF & BayB - myself and DH are doing FET in mid April as well so I am definitely looking forward to being cycle buddies!  This is our first IVF cycle as well so nervous and unsure and excited all at once!

We were fortunate enough to receive Ontario funding for our cycle so we're thrilled about that.

I am stimming now with gonal f and Menopur combo - I feel a little uninformed about this protocol but I'm trusting the doc to know best!

We are doing retrieval next week, then some ERA testing then FET in April - here's hoping!

Here's to being cycle buddies xoxo

Thanks for joining this thread! It sounds like you both are doing IVF cycles right now so you may also want to join an IVF cycle buddies thread for either February or March in addition to this one, if you haven't already, as I'll be pretty boring company for the next few weeks icon_wink.gif

It's exciting that you both are doing your first IVF. Interesting too that you won't be doing a fresh transfer, but rather a frozen one. Was that the decision of your RE's or a personal decision? I've done both kinds of transfers and honestly felt the FET was much easier on my body. Although I've only done one fresh cycle I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, if I can.

Hi cycle buddies!  Today is day 4 of estrogen priming phase and I will be starting injections in about 4 days.  Where are you ladies at with things?

Hey ladies! My FET has been moved to April so looks like I'll be joining you. I have a lupron depot injection February 27 and a tentative transfer date of April 6. This will be my first FET. I did a fresh cycle in March 2015 which resulted in a son who will be 15 months old next week. I have 4 frozen embryos waiting.

Hi ladies, I think I will be doing my first FET in April. Did a fresh IVF in Dec 2016 - chemical pregnancy, and have 1 embryo left from that cycle. It was my ontario funded cycle, and I'm waiting on funding, so that's why I am probably transferring in April. The wait is pretty excruciating!

Welcome Redgem and Real3D!

Congrats on getting things going BayB. You must be very excited!

I just did some blood work and all of it looks good. I just have a question for my RE about a thyroid test he requested. My results came back high but apparently 5-10% of the population can show high results without it impacting one's thyroid function. I've not had thyroid issues in the past so I hope I'm one of the 5-10%. I think I'll email him about it.

Welcome Real3D and Redgem :)

I am excited and very nervous ENF!  I've never heard of a high thyroid test result possibly not meaning that your thyroid function is affect.  I am hypothyroid myself and take dessicated thyroid to treat it.

ENF, I wonder if that's also my situation. My TSH is high, but my actual thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) are smack in the middle of normal. I am on medication now, basically because I pushed the specialist to put me on it because for fertility they like to see it under 2.5

It's actually my thyroid peroxidase antibody that's a bit high, not my TSH. My RE didn't order a TSH this time and my last one was over two years ago (it was 1.1). He also didn't check my T3 and T4. I've emailed him about it but I haven't heard back yet.

I think that was great of you to be so proactive about getting medication for your high TSH Redgem. Do you have possible dates yet for your FET?

Hopefully your Dr gets back to you soon and orders some more tests to clear things up.
I don't have a date yet. I'm doing a mock cycle this month. I'm hoping it will be next cycle, but it might be the cycle after that. I don't really know the funding and scheduling situation at my clinic at the moment.

Hello all. I'm currently slated to be in the march fet. I recently had my tubes out on the 14th and the recovery might push me to April. So I'll be with all you lovely ladies!! I did a freeze all cycle before tubes came out and will be transferring two blasts on a natural cycle.

I wish us all the luck in the world!!!

So my RE said my thyroid peroxidase is borderline elevated. Apparently 20 percent of women have elevated antithyroid antibodies. However my RE would only do something about it if my TSH is elevated. I just had that checked today and it's 1.05, so it's nothing to worry about after all. Very relieved!

No I had a fresh day three transfer failed. And a fet of two day 5 blast that failed.

I have a hydrosalpinx(swollen fluid filled tubes. That's decrease implantation by a lot. Plus they caused me two ectopics) tried a round with them in.

Did a freeze all Jan. Just got the tubes out last week. Hoping for end of march but looking like April now for fet. Want to make sure I'm perfectly healed!

Good luck to us all

I really hope this FET works for you. It sounds like you've been through a lot with your ectopics and surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery!

It's Lupron depot injection day for me! Any tips? I think I only had 1 IM injection during my fresh cycle and I nearly fainted while doing it... I was thinking of getting my hubby to give me the injection but he's afraid of needles so that might not work.

Hi!

I am in the March FET group but just realised my transfer will be at the end of the month. Thought I would join in here as well as, if we get to transfer, I will need support and distraction for the 2ww. A lot of the ladies in there seem to be transferring by the middle of March.

We did IVF last June but did a freeze all. We have 1 blast. Our issue is MF but I am also now 39 and we had to cancel a transfer in October of last year as I have a thin lining. I've been doing tons of supplements, acupuncture etc. to improve it and even had a hysterscopy a few weeks ago. Have now started on estrogen patches and estrace which I will be on for a quite awhile as I am traveling and my uterus needs the estra days. I'll go for my first lining check around March 15th.

We will be doing the matris ultrasound (a few days after progesterone is started) due to the fact that we have only 1 embryo and I've had lining issues. We want to make sure the conditions are right before we transfer.

Good luck to everyone!

Always fascinated by those that do meds the cycle before FET. My protocol is quite boring with just tons of estrogen, followed by progesterone when my lining is ready.

I'm completely new to the IVF process, so I'm slowly learning the lingo and trying to prepare myself for my IVF cycle in May. I haven't experienced IUI either. Looking for some IVF buddies for support.

Welcome schlepp!

My prep is boring too. I'm doing a sonohysterogram with an endometrial biopsy this cycle (tomorrow in fact). Once AF arrives (not until March 23rd) I'll start Estrace and ASA, then I'll go for a lining check on CD 14. If it's all good then I'll start progesterone orally and vaginally along with an antibiotic and then transfer my blast five days later (tentatively April 11th).

I will also need lots of support during the tww. I'm a compulsive POAS'er. I'll start testing 4dpt I'm sure 1087.gif

Do you have a tentative transfer date? Are you doing acupuncture for your lining?

Hi Mamasita! Welcome to the forums.

You may wish to join the May IVF cycle buddies thread, although I'm not sure one has been started yet. Definitely start one if one hasn't been started. This thread is mainly for people just doing an embryo transfer in April. You are definitely welcome to join us though! We'd be more than happy to support you and answer any questions you have. You may find an IVF cycle buddies thread more interesting though, as they will be going through the entire IVF process like you.

There's an April IVF post going! A lot of us seem to be first timers, so feel free to join us! We can support each other through this craziness!
