What are IVF prep supplements?  I am on Pregvit folic 5.  I am on BC and aspirin, and will be on superfact end of February!

CoQ10 and royal jelly along with my usual supplements and the thin lining supplements. You have to be taking the IVF supplements for 3 months prior to IVF so I'm taking them just in case. I'm also on methylfolate but ran out of my expensive prenatal and keep forgetting to replace it. I figure I've got most of it covered with my other supplements.

(age 38) June 2016 IVF #1 antagonist, 13 mature eggs, 4 fertilized, 1 blast frozen

October 2016 FET #1 cancelled, thin lining

Changed clinics

(age 39) April 2017 FET #1.1 BFN

July 2017 partner has vasectomy reversal

Feb & March 2018 - Medicated IUI x2 - BFN (even with 7 mature follicles on the 2nd IUI)

(age 40) May 2018 IVF#2, lupron flare, 7 mature eggs, 5 fertilized, 1 blast & 1 morula fresh transfer, BFN. 1 low quality blast frozen

June 2018 IVF#3 mini stim, 1 egg, immature

Sept/Oct 2018 IVF#4 antagonist with HGH - CANCELLED due to high estrogen/29mm cyst

Oct 2018 IVF#4.1 antagonist with HGH - 7 eggs, all mature, 6 fertilized, 2 blasts on day 6, PGS tested/euploid

November 2018 FET #2 w/immune protocol and 1 PGS tested -  BFN

Locus Medicus testing for virus, bacteria and immune issues. Husband treated.

(age 41) April 2019 IVF#5 converted to IUI#3 due to follicle growth. BFP 12 day post IUI. Di/Di twins.

Dec 17 2019 - Baby boy and girl born at 36 weeks + 2 days. Everyone very healthy.

See my 'about me' page for more detail on my treatment history.

I am on pregvit and aspirin now but in IVF cycle I was taking COQ10 and DHEA as well which were super helpful to improve my eggs.

I'm just taking my prenatal vitamins. Still no sign of AF. Hoping she arrives soon or I may need to bring my Lupron with me on vacation. I was really hoping to be able to travel without any injections. My cycle is usually pretty regular, except when I need it to be :(

March is inching closer. I'm more towards the end of March for transfer.

I'm doing a natural cycle again. Even though the first one failed.

We might be doing a natural cycle too, haven't decided yet and feeling pretty torn as we only have one frozen embryo. I see you're at Heartland! just curious how your experience has been so far with them?

Our first cycle was terrible with them they convinced my husband at retrieval time to do icsi which was something we were against. And it ended with not so great results. But second cycle we did conventional ivf with amazing results so we are happy now.

Are you at Heartland?

Yeah we are at heartland as well.  We just did our first round of IVF with them in January and everything was going great until retrieval.  All my monitoring apts were done with a doctor who was filling in for everyones vacation week and I had about 15 mature follies, and another 20 that were borderline. When retrieval day came, Dr.Mactavish was the one who did retrieval and as soon as he went in with the ultrasound and needle there were only 3 mature follies and he mentioned how "this doesn't line up with your monitoring, there should be a lot more follies" so needless to say that was the worst day in our journey so far.  We also had to do ICSI even though we really did not want to and also assisted hatching on the embryo we transferred.

We don't have a followup until Feb 21 to go over what went wrong but we aren't happy so far.  We're going to go ahead with a FET with our remaining embaby and if no luck we'll likely be exploring Calgary's clinic.  They'd have to instill some serious confidence back in to my husband for him to even consider using them again for another round of IVF.

Hi All.

I just got the call and accepted FET for March. My tentative transfer date is March 29th. We did a fresh cycle in October, transferred one 5 day blast which ended in a chemical :(. We have one frosty but the doctor gave us only 30% chance due to the quality. We prettty much have to take this step before doing another fresh cycle with DHEA and COQ10. We are not going into it very hopeful but you never know. I wish everyone the best of luck with their treatments.

Hi Adrian555 - I had a chemical in October too - It has made me less excited this time - I wasn't expecting that at all!  Good luck with your next little embryo - it just takes 1!! :-)

RebeccaG - Best of luck to you! I am definitely going into this one with a different mind set, they thought my fresh cycle would be a slam dunk but out of 11 fertilized eggs, only two made it to day 5.  I see you have to take BC for your FET? All these different protocols confuse me! lol.

Hi Somehowsomeway - I had both my tubes removed with two separate surgeries, mine was due to ectopics though. I Can try to answer any questions you have?

I don't remember it affecting my period at all, I also didn't have a very hard time with recovery but I will warn you about the gas that gets stuck in the abdomen after the procedure, it is not fun.. keep a heating pad handy, that really helped me.

I had two ectopics but it apparently didn't seem bad so they never removed the tube. The second was treated with metho. Now I have a hydro in the one and it is going in a few days. Just kind of nervous.

Hi Somehowsomeway, my issue is also tubal. I had an hsg which showed one blocked tube and a laporoscopy which showed the other tube was blocked! Not sure who had trouble telling left from right, but they concluded I only had 1 good tube.

Oh wow. That's crazy. My left was very visible on ultrasound which is the worst case hydrosalpinx. But I'm ok with it. Just hope my period doesn't get affected for fet.

Adrian555 I was in the same boat - gave 20 eggs, 17 fertilized- -we were told that we had 3 day 5's just found out it was 4 - but when 17 fertilized I was on cloud nine!! I didn't realize how quickly it was going to change! They said that they put in a perfect embryo and that I had an 80% chance of success.... getting my first HSG on Monday! I am so curious if my issues could be tubal...
