Hey Everyone! I've been lurking on the 2016 ttc a sibling thread for a while, and figured it was time to start a 2017 thread cause it looks like this will be my year! I didnt think I'd be trying this soon but as luck would have it a spot opened up and so I'm in Toronto this weekend to meet with my RE on Monday.

I did a fresh cycle in 2015 which resulted in my son. He's almost 14 months old. We have 4 frozen embryos left so not sure whether this will be a FET or a fresh cycle. We are hoping to get funding so will see what my RE recommends.

Hi! I did an FET cycle in 2015, and my daughter is now almost a year old. I've asked to be referred back to our fertility clinic to start the process again (we have one more frozen embryo to try). I'm thinking that we won't do a transfer until the summer or early fall, but I'm going to be lurking on this thread so I thought I'd say hi.  Good luck to everyone!

I was also a bit scared to make the call. My appointment was initially scheduled for March which would have meant a transfer over the summer, but when they called about a cancelation I jumped at it and now it looks like the transfer will be in March! Good luck everyone.

March is coming up soon! You must be excited!

We are hoping for a summer transfer but still seems so close lol. Lo is 15 months now so I would like to get started and we have talked about it and feel we are ready to try again but at the same time hesitant. DH says we won't know until we call, so I just have to pick up the phone.

Good luck!

Hi everyone. Hoping I can join you here :) I have fraternal twin girls who just turned two and were the result of IVF with a fresh transfer in May 2014. We have our consult booked for April and looks like we are aiming for a FET IN June or July to try for a sibling :)

Hi ladies! I'm going to ttc number four 🙈In a couple months. I have identical twins from my first fresh cycle in 2012. I had 6 failed FETs ( including mc and chem), then had my youngest with my second fresh cycle. I have five frozen embryos and am praying I have better luck with them. I'm starting to wean my yougest and need two cycles post weaning in order to be offered a cycle.

Real 3D: that's so so exciting!

Amp: I think my timing will land me around June as well. I think we've been in a cycle buddy group before?

Out of nowhere: hello 😀

Hi kris! 😀

Praying for a bean: yes one step at a time. It's hard to jump back into the whole scene. I've been so blissfully happy this last year not worrying about ttc.

Hey Bug88! Welcome. How old is your youngest? I was considering weaning but opted to continue nursing after doing some research. My son's not ready to wean... I had him down to 1 bottle during the day at daycare and we just started a 2 week vacation where I somehow thought I could eliminate that 1 day time feeding but he has a cold and hasn't been sleeping well so he wants to nurse all day long. I have to admit that when I'm exhausted I give in really easy. We're on day 2 of the vacation so hopefully things get better because I was really hoping to stop pumping at work when I come back from vacation. And I am so ready for him to start sleeping through the night! He started waking me up during my last trimester. Every single night I would wake up with numbness in my arm and had to go sleep upright in a chair... Now 14 months later he still wakes me up at least 2 times a night... I can't imagine you get much sleep with 3 little ones :)

Anyone had an elevated heart rate during any of their pregnancies?  It isn't all the time and it isn't crazy fast (85-90) but it feels a lot stronger and faster than normal.  I am very conscious of it happening and I feel it in my chest and neck and sometimes abdomen.  It is really annoying and often happens when I am trying to sleep.  I see my midwife on the 28th and will ask her about it unless it drives me nuts before then and I go to the Dr...

Hi everyone! Hoping to join you ladies here. My first is 2 years old. He was from our 1st ivf cycle and first transfer. We were lucky with him. I had 2 embryos to freeze but ended up having a blighted ovum with one and a BFN with the other. We are going for another cycle and just started injections a few days ago.

Best of luck to everyone! It's a challenge cycling while having a toddler to chase after!

Real 3D: he will be one in 3 weeks 😭. I so don't want to wean but I'm going back to work ( I'm a nurse and work 12h shifts and pumping there would just be too stressful). I also don't know if I'll cycle while nursing? My body has been gearing up to ovulate for 6 weeks but not quite getting there😜. So your research is showing you its ok to keep nursing? Why are clinics so against it? I can see a fresh but not a FET. I hear you... so much easier to throw on the boob lol. Maybe we ll get some sleep when the kids are 7... and get a brief repreve until they are teenagers lol.

Amp: I had periods of elevated HR, I'd feel flushed and need to sit down. I think it was related to low blood pressure. Only happened sporadically and my dr. Didn't think it was a big deal. Keep us posted 😃.

Puzzle pieces: hi! Sorry to hear about your FETs. I had crap luck with my last batch as well! Good luck with your injects! What protocol are you on?

Bug88, I guess it depends on your protocol. In most cases there is no research on the transfer of the medication via breastmilk to your baby so drug manufacturers just recommend not using while nursing. Most clinics are against it for this reason, but it could also affect your fertility, so it can be simpler to just control that variable. In my case, my issue is tubal and my menstrual cycle resumed when my baby was 11 months old so my body seems ready to start again. Generally with prolonged breastfeeding, it doesn't appear to affect the outcome as prolactin levels go back to normal. The only potential implication is from the uterine contractions that occur while nursing, but fertile women get pregnant while nursing, and with a FET you can control the timing of nursing so...

In my case I'll be taking Lupron Depot, and the drug is not orally bioavailable so even if it were to transfer through the breastmilk it would likely have no impact. I'll also be taking estrogen and progesterone but the doses are such that the concentration would be similar to the normal fluctuations that occur during my normal menstrual cycle. Really, the biggest risk is that the medication may affect supply, but I'm ready to accept that cause I'd like to start weaning soon.

Re: weaning. Some clinics recommend you do and others don't. My clinic was fine with not weaning. We had 3 frozen embryos and I decided that we would wean before treatment. For me, if it hadn't worked, I would have always wondered if weaning had anything to do with it. I just didn't want to have any regrets about that.

For me, it was not an issue though. I was unknowingly pregnant naturally when we had our FET consult (what the heck). We did end up weaning a few months later anyways but didn't have to do any treatments. I'm almost 35 weeks and our family will be complete after this (2 girls and done!). First one IVF fresh cycle, second naturally (without trying and breastfeeding). We call it our bogo free baby. Lol

Eyedoc, I'm so jealous! After our FET consult AF was a few days late so I was starting to wonder if maybe I was pregnant naturally, but alas she showed up a few days later and now I need to psych myself up for all the intramuscular injections...
