Hopefully I'll be doing IVF in February. I do suggest to keep the IVF and FET groups separate as the experiences are quite different.

Hi all!
I'm new here and very new to this whole world. Been TTC for over 3 years. One ectopic resulted in removal of right tube and low sperm count in the other half. Planning IVF in Feb as long as blood work in the next few weeks is good. Crossing my fingers!

Hello,

I should be starting IVF in February. I go off Visanne mid January, and then I should have my period within a few weeks. I'm thinking I should be starting by mid February.

Good luck to everyone!

I get my period next week, so hope to find out the details of my pre-treatment. I know I will be doing 7-14 days of OCP and 5 days of cetrotide during my January cycle, but not exactly sure of the timing yet. I will also be getting an endometrial biopsy done...can't wait for that one. Anyone ever had that done?

Hey Returnable, I've had an endometrial biopsy done but I wasn't awake for it. I had it done during my endo surgery. After the surgery I did bleed for about a week and a half....which I'm pretty sure is normal. Do you know if they are sedating you in some way for it?

Mrs R I have no idea. I was hoping not as DH asked whether he should be there with me and I said I should be fine...RE didn't even say anything about it during our protocol appointment. I just found out about it when I went to report my last CD1 hoping to start my pre-treatment cycle at my monitoring clinic. That's when they told me and said a December pre-treatment start was not possible because of it and the holiday closures.

I wonder if you bled from the endo surgery mainly?

Oh okay.

I think I bled from both. It is normal to bleed for up to a week after having it done. Not heavy bleeding or anything, more just when you wipe.

We are scheduled to start in February.... our first attempt so i really have no idea what to expect.  We meet with our Doctor January 23rd and hoping she can make things clearer for us.  I am contemplating taking a month off during these treatments since it is Winter time and our clinic is 4 hours away... plus i want to keep my stress levels to a minimum during this time (and my job is very stressful).  Does anyone have suggestions on how to occupy the time during the Winter?

Crazy_beautiful welcome. I am sorry you have to go through this. Honestly for me, I like going to work for the distraction and it does help me focus on other things. I would go crazy otherwise. Of course you don't have a choice. I am just wondering whether there are any satellite monitoring clinics near Sudbury? That way you could come down just for the egg retrieval? If not a month still seems like a long time. My last IVF cycle I went in on CD3 for the baseline U/S and bloodwork, and after 12 days of stimulation (average is about 10) which started on day #5, I had my egg retrieval on CD17 (something like that). Does Mount Sinai do fresh transfers or frozen? Trio, where I go, prefers frozen. It gives the body time to recover, and unfortunately not everybody gets to that point.

For newbie advice, I would say really take it one step at a time, one day at a time. Don't think so far in the future that if you don't make the next step you are not prepared and you completely crumble. Some women view IVF as THE way to FINALLY have a baby. Unfortunately some don't get the go-ahead to start, or stimulation doesn't really work, or follicles don't grow, or no or few eggs are retrieved, or no or poor fertilization, etc. etc. So much can go wrong and you just have to think about the next step and where that will take you whether it is what you are looking for or not.

Soooo yesterday, i was told that i have to take a break for this cycle and that i can do a funded ivf next cycle. Only the funding might run out before my cycle starts again. I can't afford another paid cycle. And i only get to find out if there is still enough spots for me to cycle on day 1 of my next cycle. It's not terrible news, i just hate being so in the dark. If i don't get in this next month, i have to wait until april.
