Hi everyone! I am a little late to the game on this thread, but I'm doing a natural unmedicated (except for an hcg trigger shot) FET cycle this month. I'm not sure of my dates because it all depends on my hormones, but I am due for my first ultrasound and b/w tomorrow (cycle day 10) morning to check and see my lining and ovulation/follicles. I should know more then... Am I the only inmedicated get going on in this thread?
I'm at work, on my phone now, but when I get home I will read back up the thread to get everyone's story and meet everyone properly. ☺

I go for my first ultrasound lining check tomorrow and will start progesterone injections after that.
We haven't discussed how many embryos to transfer. We have 3. This is my first frozen transfer after my fresh ivf July 2015.

Congrats mom to be on being PUPO. Do you think you will POAS?

Vanislandgirl - are you doing a medicated or natural FET?

2Brides - welcome! I'm doing an natural FET too. I'm going for BW every couple of days. I am at Day 11 now and go back Day 13. I am also going to be taking an HCG trigger, which kinda sucks b/c we can't POAS ;).

Wow Vanislandgirl- me too! Today is my first lining check and bloodwork appt too! I hope your appointment goes well! We are just doing a single embryo transfer, we did that with my son and my daughter.

Hopefulrealist- wow, great to hear another natural cycle friend! My DW did a natural cycle FET to get pregnant with our daughter and she took the hcg trigger shot and still tested at home. We just had to waste an HPT to see when it washed out, (At our clinic, the trigger shot is like 6 days before transfer, so even just waiting like 2 days after transfer was actually 8 days after the shot) so once we got a negative test at home a couple days after transfer, we knew we could test after that and it would mean we were pregnant if we got a positive!
Terri Tang- a natural cycle is unmedicated. No bcp, Lupron, estrogen or progesterone. They track our own bodies ovulation cycle and then transfer when we would naturally have an embryo in our uterus. I gained a ton of weight on my medicated cycle (I blame the Lupron/estrogen combo) but it worked. A medicated cycle is much easier to plan, and control. And can be used for those who don't have predictable ovulation/menstrual cycles. But the success rate is equal among the two. We are going to try a natural cycle for me this month, if my body does well and they monitor everything then super... I would love to take zero hormones before transfer and definitely for first trimester (aside from one trigger shot). But if not, we will try a regular medicated FET next month.

Hopefulrealist, I know that feeling of wanting to POAS and thinking what if the trigger is still there. U r almost at the transfer, stay calm n goodluck.
Im hoping not to POAS but sure its gonna be really hard if not impossible especially having a test strip at home.
Vanislandgirl, fingers crossed 4 u; wish u a 3 stripe thick lining.
2brides, welcome and all the best.
Good luck to everyone.

  • 01/12/17 -  Results for re-biopsy received, meeting with Dr. Haebe tomorrow to discuss.
  • 01/13/17 - Results are good, mock cycle is the next step before transferring one of our 4 healthy embabies!
  • 01/13/17 - All is well with the mick cycle, nurses called. Next step is to call with late March day 1 and then blood tests until I surge, then ultrasound. We are looking at transfer the week of April 10th.

2Brides - My RE also gives another dose of HCG on ET day so I would expect it would take at least 8 days post transfer to know if it is out of my system. In some ways it is a good thing I think as I won't be tempted to test early and be disappointed.

Mom to Be - thanks for the encouragement :)

idream - yay! Are you doing a medicated or natural FET? How did the donor's cycle go?

Lifeunpaged - it will depend on what protocol your RE decides to use. It could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks from your next Day 1.

AFM - I'm a little bummed b/c I think the transfer day may occur on a day when my DH can't make it...I don't want to waste time worrying about it b/c I know there's nothing I can do until I know when the transfer is going to be, but it will be unfortunate if he can't make it. Hopefully my ovaries cooperate and my LH surge comes very soon...back for BW tomorrow.

8/2015- 10 rounds of clomid failed. OB/GYN refers to RE
11/2015- Meet with RE. Start IUI
12/2015- IUI epic failure. Hubby couldn't produce..... on to IVF with frozen sample
3/2016- Meet with OFC. Get on funded IVF cycle waitlist
8/2016- Name up on waitlist. make first appointment for 9/2016

10/2016- BCP month..... things are starting
11/2016- IVF round 1 stimms start!

Thank you :), I think I will do it this time. My previous cycle I didn't test and it was hard to hear the negative result. I prefer to know it or at least know what I should expect.
I probably start from day 5, but I'll try to do not loose hope if got negative.

Congrats Newbie! I would wait until at least 7 days if I were you, it's rare to get a positive at day 5.  But just my 2 cents. I realized my RE uses a slightly different protocol with the natural cycle and he gives an HCG trigger on the day of the transfer so I know I won't be able to POAS for at least 8 days or so....

That's a good idea. I have tested on my other two transfers. It helped me out a lot, but I only tested the day of or the day before my blood test. I'm probably going to do the same again. It just helps me to know so I can plan my blood test day accordingly.

I'm excited b/c my LH surge came today - this means my transfer should be Jan 20. Will be going for a Matris ultrasound on Jan 18 and if that looks good away we go. I am relieved b/c my DH will be able to come so FX for a normal ultrasound!

That hCG shot will keep u far from those sticks for a good while I guess :)

Testing on the blood test day is a wise decision. It is exactly what I wanted to do on my last cycle. And on that day I was like what the hell why should I do this, they will let me know. I was so wierd.
I should have tested.
