Same here. It all kind of depends on how my next two periods will play out as my clinic closes for 1 week during X-mas. I will be doing a medicated cycle so i need to start my depo-lupron and estrogen a few days after i ovulate. Are you doing a medicated cycle?

TTC since January 2014, first appointment at OFC September 2014-->PCOS, leuteal phase defect, morphology 2.5%

6 cycles of Clomid, successful on the 6th try May 2015

Fetal anomalies lead to a termination at 22 weeks October 2015

January 2016 IUI #1 unsuccessful

March 2016 IUI #2 Chemical

May 2016 IUI #3 Chemical

(All IUIs were with Gonal F 50 IU and Ovidrel)

Started estrogen priming protocol for IVF number #1 (funded cycle!)

ER on October 12th, 29 follicles, 26 mature, 24 fertilized with ICSI

Freeze all cycle due to high risk of OHSS. 4 5-day embryos frozen.

Was planning for a medicated FET in January 2017 but somehow miraculously conceived naturally!

First u/s Dec 6th, measuring right on track 6w2d

I'm not sure yet, I go back to discuss on Dec 12th. I'm not sure how my cycles will play out now after the first IVF cycle. Where in Canada are you? Will this be a first FET cycle for you?

Hey Fergie, i'm so sorry to hear of your loss 😞 I got my official negative beta results on Tuesday but don't go back to see the Dr until Dec 12th.....I don't know why I have to wait so long. How long have you been at the RFP?

Snootypup, I am so sorry about your negative beta result.  So disheartening when you have work so hard.  The only reason why I got in so early to see my doctor was because there was a cancellation.  I guess they are booking follow ups into February now the nurse told me.  Our doctor is Dr Wong.  I have been with RFP for 6 years now ( If you read my signature you will see my history with RFP :) ) .  In 2012 my second fresh IVF gave us our 4 year old son.  We took 4 years off and now we are looking to adding to our family as we do have frozen embryos from that cycle.

It is disheartening but I guess we just carry on. My official Dr is Dr Min but as you know you end up seeing everyone. Yes the nurse told me about booking in to Feb too so I guess i'm lucky to be seen in Dec, I just wanted things to move along a bit faster! What was your frozen transfer schedule like? I had so much time off work for the full IVF that i'm nervous i'm going to annoy my boss 😣

Frozen transfer is so much easier.  I started Suprefact on Sept 6, estrace and antibiotic on Sept 21. The RFP pharmacy sent my prescription  to my pharmacy here in Red Deer. Called in my period and nurse called me back to tell me when to start the estrace.  On October 3 I went to Calgary for an ultrasound to check lining then didn't go back til October 7 for the transfer.  Wow you must be exhausted, working and full IVF is a lot.  I took medical leaves for both of my fresh IVF cycles.

That schedule seems much more manageable, phew. I won't lie, I was beyond tired getting up at 4.30 every second day to be at the clinic for 7am then driving back and doing a full days work then going home and being a Mum and wife. I think that was a big part of my dissapointment, I gave so much! I've had a brutal cold since the 3rd, I think my body just gave up. I'm really excited to try again though 🤗

Absolutely you would be exhausted!  I hope you can take some time to rest.  How many children do you have?  How many frozen embryos do you?

I only have one, he's 11 and a really great kid....i'm very lucky. We have six decent grade, five day blasts so hoping they pick the right one next time as i'm not sure how long I can keep going if this one fails too! How about you?

We have now 5 day 3 embryos. We began with 11 embryos before our FET.  It seems like when ever we take our embryos to Day 5 blasts they never stick or don't survive.  Since we only have 5 left and I will not be doing another full IVF cycle, I am going to talk to Dr Wong on how I believe my embryos do better in me.  My next FET I want to put in 1 3 day embryo.  My 4 year old son was born at 27 weeks so the clinic suggests only putting back one embryo at a time.

Hi ladies!

I just received a BFN from my October FET Previous to that we did two fresh transfers, both of which were BFN. I don't have any children. We only have one embryo left and i' so scared to try again and get a pother negative because that will be our final try.

I too don't have my follow up until Dec 12. But I am getting a referral from my doctor to another clinic as well to get a second opinion. So we will most likely end up transferring in January!

I've been in other groups here during transfers and I really appreciate having people to talk to!
Me 39, DH 44IVF #1 - April 7/16 - egg retrieval. 4 eggs retrieved. 3 fertilized2 embryos transfered April 12/16 - None to freeze 😞Beta April 26 - BFN IVF #2 - June 2016 - here we go again! Welcome Vicchick33!  I am so sorry for your BFN.  It sucks so bad when you have work so hard.  Remember that it only takes one embryo to make a beautiful baby :)

Snootypup- I know I feel the same way.  The whole process is so stressful. My son stayed in the NICU for total of 8 weeks.  4 weeks at the Royal Alex where he was born then he was transferred to Red Deer hospital and stayed there for 4 more weeks.  Medically there was now wrong with him he just needed to grow, he only weigh 2lbs 6 oz when he was born.   Now he is a happy, healthy, energetic 4 year old boy :)     I am grateful everyday for him and we like to give him a sibling.

Vicchick33- Sorry to hear of your BFN 😓 before we decided to try forvour second after 11 years I would never have realised how many people suffer with infertility! Where in Canada are you?

Fergie-I can't even imagine how stressful it must have been having your son inhospital for 8 weeks. I couldn't even handle watching my son get put to sleep for a tooth removal. I'm glad I got all the daily trips to Calgary out of the way while the weather was nice ish although I was stuck on the highway in Oct after a crash the last time it snowed and had to mix up all of my injections and do them in the car, the people beside me were just staring lol

Hi ladies!

Hoping to join in here!

Just finished a full IVF cycle which resulted in a BFN (I hate this acronym)... I have two day 6 blasts frozen in which I'm hoping to use 1 of them once we get the go ahead.

I have my follow up appt only Jan 9th!! Which by that time I'll have hopefully already received my call to get started once my 2 AF arrives. I'm hoping to get in sooner, as I don't now if we will be doing a medicated or natural cycle!

AF started today from this failed cycle. Feeling in the dumps today! ugh!

I look forward to cycling with you ladies in the upcoming months (mid Jan seems so far away)!

This waiting game just never seems to end!

Hey wishful, sorry to hear about that :( I just had a failed fresh transfer 2 weeks ago too. I don't see my Dr until Dec 12th but have been told we will be skipping my Dec cycle and working with my Jan cycle but your right....it does seem soooooo far away. I will be looking forward to cycling with you too, it's so nice to have support from people who are going through the same thing

Welcome wishful09.  I am so sorry about your unsuccessful fresh transfers.  Be kind to yourself.

Snootypup- It was really difficult to leave him at the hospital each day.  I constantly worried about him.  I am so grateful for the doctors and nurses that took care of him.

I saw Dr Wong last past Wednesday. We discussed that I feel my embryos don't do well culturing them to day 5 due to my past history ( 2 m/c and one BFN)  My son was a day 3 embryo. They usually like to put 2 Day 3 embryos back in on transfer day but because of my risk of preterm labor he strongly recommends only one.  He did say that transferring only one will decrease my chance of pregnancy as at that stage they have a hard time seeing which one is the strongest.  I agree that I only want to transfer one as my goal is a healthy baby and not to just get pregnant.  Dr Wong said he would support me with transferring the best embryo once they start thawing them.  We have 5 embryos left.  I won't be doing another fresh cycle.  He put me back on the active list.   At this point I don't think I am ready yet to try again. I would like to enjoy Christmas with my son and family.  I need some time to get my body back on track and financial we need to save again.   I wish you get a discount after a failed cycle.    I will call in AF when it returns.  My HCG levels as of Thursday were 31.  Going back next week for another blood test as the clinic would like to see them to 0.  I wish that embryo I loss was still with me. We were so excited to share our news this Christmas with our family and our son.  I know in my heart that it was a blessing that I did miscarry as the embryo just wasn't healthy or strong enough.  Infertility sucks so much.  I wish we could just conceive naturally.

Fergie- All these decisions we have to make really are draining it's impossible to know wether we are making the right ones especially when we are emotional about the outcome. I honestly feel like I'm ready to jump right into another treatment and am irritated that I have to wait but I guess that's all I can do. In the meantime il look forward to Christmas and hope that the new year brings us all happiness 😊
