Hello ladies. We are attempting our first FET (after a successful fresh cycle back in 2014). I am struggling with a thin lining. We did a mock cycle last month with oral Estrace 3x/day plus vaginal Estrace 2x/day and it was a big fat failure. My baseline was 3.3, and only got to 4.5 after 31 days of meds 😟. We're doing a Natural cycle right now just to see how things look. I've started taking Vit E 800iu, and 81mg ASA. Also drinking a cup of Raspberry Leaf tea every evening in hopes of boosting my lining a bit. Is there anything else you ladies have done that has actually helped improve your lining??

Also, has anyone had success with the Estradot patch when Estrace failed? Patches are our next plan of action. I'm desperate for something to work! We've got 3 great quality embryos just waiting for a good lining. Help! 😭

The only cycle I got pregnant was with estadot patches. I did three FET's and the third with the estradot patch was successful.

Best of luck

I struggled with thin lining for both of my FETs as well. The first one (BFN) they tried to add vaginal Estrace and it made me so sick and dizzy that I stopped taking it, but my lining was able to reach the minimum after a bit. For this past FET (BFP) I told them right away that I wouldn't do vaginal Estrace but that if my lining was thin again I'd like to try the Estradot patches. The combination of patches with oral Estrace was the ticket for me, thought I still wouldn't say my lining got very thick! Just thick enough, I guess. I also did acupuncture for both cycles. Good luck, I hope you're able to find a combo that works for you!

Red Wine and StarSapphire - thank you so much for your replies. I needed to hear that! It's hard not to lose hope, but your successes restore my faith a little ❤️

breezyboo - did you try the patches without success? My doc didn't even mention injections as an option. He said we'd do a low-dose stim cycle if the patches don't work. I'd rather avoid that if possible! I wonder why he didn't suggest it 😕

Patches didnt work.....I only thicken with low dose stims or estradiol valerate injections. The estradiol injections are also much easier than a cycle with stims.

Unfortunately, neither the patch or Estrace work for me even though the RE continues to prescribe. My lining is not awful; it gets to 7 but needs to get to 8. I would like to use the injections but my RE does not use them ugh.

breezyboo - if the Estradot fails, maybe I'll suggests the injections before moving to a stim cycle. So much cheaper, plus our clinic is 5 hours away so I'd have to be off work for the entire cycle to be there for monitoring. Major pain in the ass that could possibly be avoided. Thanks for your input! That's one more option I've got in my back pocket if we need it. My RE is pretty reasonable, so I can't see him saying no if I want to give it a go.

That's frustrating 😞. I think if their methods aren't working they should be open to other reasonable options. It's difficult being at the mercy of the doctors sometimes.

Hi guys - I've posted on the other long thin lining thread back when I did my femara plus low-dose stim. We eventually got to 5.5 with good structure and decided to transfer. BFN. Then did two natural cycles to see how I do on my own - and the answer is terribly! I just started FET#3 (FET#1 was also cancelled for thin lining - that time did just Estrace). This time we're doing the "Yale protocol" - bcp, ovelapped with lupron (just started the lupron today), and then after two weeks of lupron, will start Estrace, aspirin and Viagra. We're also going to do the Matris test. We have only 1 embryo left (pgs tested). i am so grateful for everything you guys have posted for thin linings. You've mentioned the patches - my dr seems to think they are not available in Canada anymore??

ms-tdot - Estradot patches are most definitely still available in Canada. I'm a pharmacist. I should know. Lol.

I agree with breezyboo on the endo scratch! I had an endometrial biopsy last year and ended up miraculously getting pregnant naturally! My first and only successful intrauterine pregnancy that stuck (previous to that all I could achieve is ectopics and chemicals). The pregnancy ended up being a molar, but that was a chromosomal issue. Nothing to do with my lining. Maybe I'll ask for another one, come to think of it!

ms-tdot - looks like we are doing the same protocol. I'm not sure about you, but I am hoping this one works. I have been through so many protocols and none of them get me past 7.0 and stay

cherbear - is estrogen injections available in Canada? My RE indicates they are not

I should mention I never had lining issues on estrace but never got pregnant. When I used estradot patches my lining got quite thick and I worried it was too thick but obviously the patches worked for me. When I had used estrace in previous FET's I always had bleeding but the estradot patches I didn't bleed and it worked.

See about me page.

4 years, breezy boo and cherbear, I did have a scratch the cycle before my first FET, which we cancelled after 2 weeks of Estrace because I had fluid, the lining was stalled at 4mm and it never had structure. But I will be doing another biopsy next week before we start the Estrace and viagra.

4 years and counting, when is your scheduled transfer date? Based on the protocol sheet, we're supposed to be November 28, but I think the likelihood of my lining growing on any kind of normal schedule is low.

Also, breezy boo, I'm not sure how one gets checked for endometriosis. I've had two sonohysterograms (the last one was last week), which shows a "beautiful uterus". To be honest, I know nothing about endo.

Ms-tdot...endometritis is different than endometriosis. Endometritis is an infection of the uterine lining. You test for it by getting a biopsy of your lining.

Ahhh! Sorry, I read it too fast! when they did my biopsy/scratch in the summer they "tested" it and it came back "normal" but I have no idea what they tested it for. When they do the next biopsy, I'll ask if they can test for infection. Thanks!

4 years and counting - I don't believe estrogen valerate (Delestrogen) injections are commercially available in Canada, however they could likely be compound by a compounding pharmacy, although this may be pricey!

Red Wine - come to think of it, I had some spotting early on with the Estrace as well. I'd forgotten about that! It was clearly doomed from the start.

ms-tdot- I had fluid in my lining last cycle too. My RE is having an HSG done next cycle to be sure it's not hydrosalpinx. I've been tested for this before, but he wants to make sure it hasn't developed. Frustrating to have to go through that test again (I found it quite painful last time), but I suppose it's good he's being thorough. I personally don't think it's hydrosalpinx, just a crappy lining. We shall see.

ms-tdot - my transfer date is scheduled for November 22nd...who knows if I will actually transfer though due to lining

cherbear - I honestly don't care of the cost, if it works, but RE is not even interested in looking into it.

ms-tdot - strange question for you, when was the last day of BCP? how long were you on it for? The reason I am asking is, I took it only from the 15th to 25th of October inclusive, and today AF came. I am just wondering if this is normal????
