I don't think we use bcp over here, just start sniffing synarel on day 21. Ha ha yes you spend months hoping af doesn't show then suddenly it's all you want 😂

At day 21 I start taking suprefact injections daily, I think I would prefer the nose spray. I realized today that I have 19 work days before my estimated ER, it's sneaking up on me. I'm trying to decide when and what I'm going to tell my boss. My doctor has suggested that I take at least two weeks off. So they will need to find a replacement for me for that time so I should probably tell them soon. What are you ladies doing?

Wow 2 weeks? I was just going to take a sick day the day of retrieval. Go back to work the next day... or at least work from home. 2 weeks seems excessive.

It could be because I'm a teacher, so on my feet all day, surronded by germs, no bathroom breaks or time to eat and very stressful. Also, if I'm spending $15 000+ on this then I want to give it the best chance possible to work.

Good news about the blood work. Think it's different over here so excuse my ignorance, what happens after a week of bcp? Do you start stims?

Yeah they start me on BCP to calm the ovaries before stimulating them. Kind of like the calm before the storm. So in a week or so, I will begin my injections.

Where are you from gill23? Sounds like you're on an unfamiliar protocol.

How is everyone else in the group? Anyone started stims yet?

I have 5 days left of BCP, I've been on them for 2 and a half weeks and have lost 5 lbs due to the nausea. I start suprefact injections on Saturday for a week then start stims. I'm starting to get nervous and I think my husband is too, he's being extra nice this week.

Looks like a lot of us are on the same time line! Very exciting.

Welcome AKH! We are here if you need to chat! I don't think there are anyone in this group who are doing frozen transfers this month or next. We are all stimulating and doing egg retrievals this month/December. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a December FET group. I do see a January FET group though.

It can be lonely during this process. My dh has a difficult time talking about it because he has to have a needle in his testicles to aspirate the sperm and every time I bring it up he cringes. My family isn't 100% supportive, they feel I'm too old now (I'm 39). So this is why I come to this group at times for support. I know how it feels.

Hey everyone!

Sounds like most of us have started the process! It is so exciting!  I am on bcp for another week and a half.  We had our teaching session yesterday and then when we got home we got an email from the clinic saying they have immediate funding available! Such a whirlwind!! We have been waiting for this funding for SO long! Finally! :)

I will be starting gonal-f and menopur on December 1st!

I had my teaching appointment today. Starting suppression injection Saturday and feeling more confident about giving myself the needles. Next is my baseline visit and stims starting Dec 1st. Dh was looking pale just watching me practice injecting the sponge, I have a feeling he won't be very helpful with injections. Only 2 more BCPs left! How is everyone doing?

I've heard injections aren't as bad as they seem. It's approaching quickly for you Carryon33!

I'm elated because I got into the government funding last minute. Looks like starting in December worked out for me because the clinic realized they had a couple of surplus spots and they picked me for one of them!

I take my last BCP on the 23rd and begin injections on the 26th!

Hey All

New here and looking for support.

Been ttc for almost 7 years on and off but on for the most part! We finally decided that IVF was the way to go and here we are. Started my injections today and lemmy just say, what a weird and awkward thing to have to do to yourself! The first stab was tough but it's really not so bad once you get over the whole sticking a needle into yourself! I'd love a partner on here to be able to get advice and support from! Good luck to all who are trying this month!

Welcome MikaKendra, I started my first injection last night and I agree, once you work up the courage to stick the needle in then the rest is easy.
Karlie - I'm so excited that you got funding! I hope that makes life easier for you and your family. In NB there isn't any funding but since we have a diagnosis for our infertility we are able to apply to get $5000 back after we've spent $10 000. So that is a bit of a relief for us.

AFM-the first injection went really well, I was a bit nervous and shaky but it was over quickly. I had a bit of burning afterwards so I iced the spot for a few minutes and it went away. I'm super excited that the process has finally started, feels like we've been waiting for ever.

Hi December group, this is all new to me so I thought it would be good to get to know others going through this process. My ER should be around December 1 or so, so I thought I'd join this group. Tonight is my third night of injections...I never thought I'd even be able to do one, but here I am on day three. I'll be doing a FET in the new year. Hope everyone is doing well!

I hope you all have lots of follicles!
