Hi!

Thought id start the topic.

Im jumping on the crazy IVF band wagon again and starting injections Dec 2.

I usually end up doing a freeze all because of OHSS but im hoping maybe this time will be different.

Hi Hopeful,
I'm new to the ivf journey. I'll be starting stims late November with ER early December. I'm very nervous about the whole process. I keep thinking of all of the things that could go wrong. We have decided not to share this journey with our friends or family other than my mother so I'm hoping to find friends here. Have you started taking the BCP yet?

I'm just waiting on AF to start (due Nov 11th), then will be starting BCP! Looks like ER will be the beginning of December! Anyone taking supplements for egg quality? If so, which ones are you taking?

I'm taking a prenatal, low dose aspirin and vitamin D but nothing for egg quality. Maybe I should be too.

My clinic has me starting bcp November 12 and I start injections December 2nd.
It's normal to be nervous especially since this whole process is out of our control
All you can do is follow the protocol and pray for the best :-)

I've been on CoQ10 (Ubiquinol), Vitamin D and Meletonin for 3 months. I was also taking Resveratrol (Doctor's orders) but I was experiencing negative side effects to that so I recently stopped. Oh and prenatals of course.

I don't have egg quality issues that I know of, my AMH was over 22 which is decent for my age, but I don't want to risk low quality, hence I've been taking supplements.

Other supplements I started within the last 2 months are Lipoic Acid, Acetyl L Carnitine and N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC). All very powerful antioxidants that have proven to increase egg quality.

My teaching visit is coming up on the 17th and I should be starting injections on the 19th. I've been having a few side effects from the BCP, headaches, nausea and heartburn but it's all worth it. How is everyone feeling? I've been trying to keep busy so I don't have time for worrying. Thankfully, tomorrow's Friday, I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend.

Glad the BCP side effects aren't affecting your attitude. I know BCPs are awful. I used to get so nauseous on them. To think I never even needed them before I knew we had fertility issues.

I'm feeling good. Super excited to start af in a week (never thought I'd say that).

Kind of strange, my overies feel super heavy today. Almost like during ovulation. Joe at a heavy pulling felling. I hope that means there are lots of follicles!

Hi Everyone!

Looks like I will be joining your group as well! I thought I may be doing my IVF in November, but I just found out today I will be on BCP for 21 days and will not start stims until December 1st.

Kadie, you and I are in the same situation, my DH has Cystic Fibrosis as well.

I am excited to get started as well! We did our first IVF two years ago and it was not successful.  We took a break, and are now ready to try again!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome CHOP28! Glad to have someone here with the same situation as me.

Will your husband be having PESA? If so will it be the same day as egg retrieval?

Ours is going to be scheduled for the same day. The Urologist is confident he will get sperm. I'm so scared they won't get any!

Yes, the PESA will be the same day as my retrieval.

Don't stress, I am positive there will be sperm there for you! :)

We aren't in quite the same situation, we have zero percent motility but we were able to freeze 8 vials for ICSI. I'm sure they will be able to find viable sperm. How is everyone doing? I was thinking about seeing a counselor to help me deal with the mental stress and anxiety with this whole process. Any relaxation tips? I've been doing yoga and going to the gym which is helping.

Hi Carryon!!

I just started the BCP so just hoping the next 21 days go by quickly.  As for relaxation/stress relief I do workout which helps, and actually had my first acupuncture treatment last week.  I wasn't sure what to expect but it was completely relaxing! I don't know if you have ever tried it, but it definitely helped me!

I've never tried acupuncture, not sure we have that here in our tiny city but I'll look into it for sure. I have 12 more days of BCP, starting suprefact on November 19th then stims starting Dec 1st. Seems far away now but will probably fly by. I've started my Christmas shopping as a distraction.

I've actually been going to acupuncture. I do find it very relaxing. Difficult to tell if it is working or not. I've been going once a week for about 3 weeks now. AF starts this week and you don't need to going during AF so I won't be going this week. But I will continue once per week while on stims. I think the most important time is a few days before retrieval and immediately after transfer.

Edited to say that I actually do think it is working with the stress. I have been feeling soooo relaxed about this process. I thought for sure I would be stressing out, but I am shocked at how calm I am. I'm going to chalk it up to the acupuncture because I am a high anxiety person.

Welcome gill23! Yes you are in the right place. I also will be starting meds this month with ER the beginning of December. I find the November group is quite a bit ahead of me and felt I just wasn't quite at the point they are at.

Did you start with BCPs or straight to stims on the 16th?

Me: 39

DH: 34

DH has obstructive azoospermia due to Cystic Fibrosis.

Started BCP November 14th

Take my last BCP November 23rd

Begin stims November 26th

Anticipated retrieval date: December 8th.

DH had his sperm aspirated via PESA day of retrieval.

24 eggs retrieved

7 blasts (day 5/6) sent off for PGS

2 genetically normal embryos

Anticipated transfer - February 2017

Yes I checked the November group and thought the same. I started synarel 8 days ago so should start stims on the 23rd if all is ok at the scan on 22nd. Are you d/r or just straight to stims?
